Re: Tuesday International (House?) Fairy Day
What fun to have a little bundle of energy around, RR! And good for you for working with the trainer! I love spending an hour, twice a week, with the trainer.
I agree with you Cathy about doing as little as possible. We again have the heat advisory. And ditto on the life list. I put research into Evernote to evaluate and use later, it occurred to me the other day that I may not live long enough to do all the research I want....
Waving to Nancy, we're on the same trash schedule, I think ours just got picked up.
OTOH, Lauralind, you're not responsible for entertaining your dh - as I've noted in contemplating dh's retirement here. Are there things he could do to help you?
bw2, hope the new company has good suggestions and candidates for caregiving. Nodding, yes, I was considered the house fairy.
I'm all over the place this a.m. First thing is to finish a.m. routine and look ahead at the day. Dh gets back home just before six if all flights are on time, and we're supposed to go by the client appreciation evening at our gym, which is 6:30 to 8:30. If he's running late I'll go alone so we'll need to stay in touch.
Yesterday was a wash. By the time I got home from workout I didn't want to clean and organize upstairs. So that's on for this afternoon I think. I'm trusting that the house fairy will be able to give me assistance. I normally enjoy cleaning out and organizing so I'll look at it that way. What photos can I discard, or scan, then discard?
LadyM, do you thing getting the shoe inserts back where they belonged made the difference?

Re: Tuesday International (House?) Fairy Day
UGH! I had to go outside. Not just outside, but to a grocery store. The house fairy drank most of the milk, ate most of the eggs and potatoes and ALL of the onions and my bread. Dh eats whole wheat bread (his preference) but I prefer white bread. I'm glowing and it's because of the weather. I looked in the fridge earlier and I just could not believe how low some things were. I also got a bag of oranges.
When I got home dh was out in the garden. He said he could put it off until tomorrow. Now he says rain is expected, so he's planting more radish seeds.
I'm going out to sit at the patio table until he's ready to come in.

Re: Tuesday International (House?) Fairy Day
a good meeting with care people - they can start Thursday - they answered all our questions and they also do a state wide back ground check. bonded insured etc. Now it is up to dd older.
They had a good talk with mom and dd younger was there to ask questions I missed -they were here for 2-1/2 hours.
the water drip company came and he worked 5 hours. I didn''t know it was such a big job.
mom has been amazing all morning - she washed herself with guidance - put on her own shirt - used the bathroom on her own and knew she had to go. she took her meds and ate a big breakfast
amazing.

Re: Tuesday International (House?) Fairy Day
Hey, all! Quick update:
Got back from our annual trip to the game convention. I did much more this year than last. Last year, there was at least one day I didn’t leave the hotel room. This year, I managed to get out at least a little every day. I pretty much had to walk a little, rest a little, and I did not go more than a smidge into the dealer hall (too crowded), but I went to a few events and got three games. The fewest steps I had were 3,000-something on a day which I spent half of in the hotel room.
No sooner had we gotten back than DH left for Scout camp. (He does not set these dates; he is just an assistant Scoutmaster.) I don’t envy him being out in this heat. I am spending as much time as possible in our living room “oasis.” I have been neglecting a lot, but I don’t care. I have a grocery order to pick up later today — cold foods, or foods that require just a bit of time in the microwave. Also fixings for my finger food for Friday’s girls’ night (the Scoutmaster’s wife is hosting while the guys are out of the way): salad skewers (Caprese and watermelon— not together).
DD had jury duty. I had forgotten DH would be away. I was thinking he could drop her off on his way to work. Alas, I had to drive downtown, but I managed — even managed to find a good spot to drop her off. She was dismissed late this morning; can’t be called back for two years. I hope I don’t get called; I did it years ago and can’t imagine it in my current shape. They apparently no longer offer medical deferment. I will just have to cross my fingers.
I said this would be quick — ha! Just one more thing — going for pedicures this evening with Dfriend K. Perhaps I will be useful tomorrow, but more likely, I will continue hiding out from the heat. All of you take care!

Re: Tuesday International (House?) Fairy Day
I don't know what to do about these temple financial statements. It makes me almost ill. I spent some time dissecting them - I think I understand them better now but if it takes a financial professional hours to understand then I know the board isn't understanding. And from what I've heard I don't think they even receive them at meetings.
Dh is in ATL and so far his flight to home is on time. He said we can decide once he gets here, I assume he'll go tho.
We've been asked to reduce electricity usage because of the heat. I bumped out a/c up a couple of degrees. Trying to pretend I don't know what the dog wants right now. I'd rather wait a little longer to walk her. It's "feels like" 103 out there.

Re: Tuesday International (House?) Fairy Day
Blessed - that sounds like a wonderful fresh start with getting a helper for your DMom.
Mystery - I have been missing you and wondering what adventures you and DFamily have been having.
Cathy - I am interested if the radish seeds germinate for your DH and learn his ways of success. I don't have much success getting seeds to germinate when it is hot. I wonder if I start them indoors and then transplant.....hum...but I don't know if radish seeds can be transplanted. So many things to try!
I tried beef bacon for the first time. It was okay but I probably won't be buying it again.
Yesterday I bought ice cream sandwiches and did the test that I've seen online. Put the ice cream sandwich on a platter and observe what happens when it melts. End result....it stays the same. Eeewwwe. IMHO Ice cream should melt and look like liquid milk/sugar mixture. The teens were interested in the experiment and poked around on the ice cream sandwich. But after they saw the result, they decided they didn't care and continued to eat the rest of the 15 frozen ice cream sandwiches.

I remain hopeful. I don't understand why I can walk a couple hundred steps without any pain, but when i walk longer distance then the pain comes roaring back. I can stop walking and wait for 30 seconds for whatever is causing the pain to stop and then continue walking another couple hundred steps without pain. I am looking forward to hearing the physical therapist's opinion and recommendations.LadyM, do you thing getting the shoe inserts back where they belonged made the difference?

Re: Tuesday International (House?) Fairy Day
LucyLee - I am thinking of your DGS 3 Big Macs. He would fit right in around here. I just ordered food for the teens from sonic - 9 cheeseburgers, fries and slushes. Thankfully it is 1/2 price burgers after 5pm on Tuesdays! I made 6 hot dogs earlier this afternoon.....along with multiple bacon sandwiches.
Furniture removal has started in DGS16 bedroom. My recently decluttered garage area is now a staging spot while repairs are being made to the bedroom wall. The fella said he might get started tomorrow tearing the wall out but will have to work on this project along with his other projects. DH talked to the local lumber yard, and they have windows in stock so that potential problems are solved.

Re: Tuesday International (House?) Fairy Day
I ended up changing my mind (since I was of two minds anyway) and went with HRH to the dr after all. I think I was helpful. He had an EKG today and it was normal. Blood pressure was normal and even called into question our at-home blood pressure monitor. Bloodwork comes back by Thursday. Because of his tendency to have muscle cramps, dr has added magnesium to the tests, and I'm interested in seeing that result.
We didn't do anything else while we were out, but I see the quandary of others here - maybe we should have because tomorrow certainly isn't going to be any more comfortable in temperature.
Mystery, what at the game convention is the most interesting thing for your family? Sounds like a lot of fun and I'm glad you got to enjoy more than last year.
blessed, I'm hopeful that ddolder is impressed with the new folks, too, and you all find some confidence and relief in this. It's great that your dmother had a calmer day today when all this is on your mind.
Twins' - financial for the congregation... oh, my. And complicated enough to make you feel ill with it. Be careful, take care of yourself as the situation plays out. And take care of your time.
Thinking of the charming houseguest at Ramblin's place. Hide and seek.
