(((LAnn))), I’m so sorry to read your mom has passed. Praying for you and your family as you maneuver through this difficult time.

Good morning and happy 4th.
French, I haven’t heard of that rose but it’s so pretty. Life is hectic when in the thick of it but cherish the moments as you can.
Good suggestion re child care kittykatt.
Helia, sounds like a nice day.
Gma, great improvising for a desk.
(((Laura)))

We aren’t doing anything special for the holiday. May watch the fireworks on tv. Our area has become more of a resort area than a farming area so there are too many vacationers for me to want to deal with traffic and crowds.
♥ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! ♥

That's a really clever use of a door, Gma. :)
You cleaned out her room fast, L Ann. What are you doing with her bed?
A low-key holiday sounds lovely, Bama. I didn't realize you live in a resort area. I've never really been to your state before, to be honest, just drove through a piece while traveling somewhere else.
Have a good day at work, Lauralind.

Just finishing lunch; visited Mom and made a WF run beforehand. Now, I'm going to s2s and then drive to the girls' place to meet dd27. She, Fable, and I are going to a nearby nature preserve to walk!

Main Goals for Today
1. Visit Mom
2. Walk - long
3. WF
4. Finish the exam record
5. email EP
6. Prep corn
7. Enjoy the evening with family and friends and puppies 8-)

Next:
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower
- time for back exercises??
- to girls' house

TaDas!
- up; weighed self - slightly down
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website - high of 87*F (30.6C) with rain around 5 pm
- reclaimed kitchen
- gathered everything for seeing Mom + WF run
- visited Mom
- WF
- put everything away
- lunch
- communications re: Mom's visit + walking with dd27

The nursing home provided all of the furniture, helian. You can change out the things they provide if you want more personal things. They have a yard sale and clothing sale monthly to earn money for the facility so we left most of the clothing we didn’t trash/recycle and the two chest of drawers. We offered the oxygen concentrator we bought to the facility to give to another family. We brought home two small chairs and some pictures and a few odds and ends. It took about two hours but involved a lot of chatting with the nursing personnel. She has been there 5 years and they were quite fond of her and talked about their final conversations with her. It was nice and showed again what a great facility it is. Tomorrow I meet with the funeral home director but everything was planned and paid for several years ago so it should only involve a signature and submitting the obituary. We are going to do a family only service when we put her ashes in the columbarium next to my dad.

I would like to read but I am not sure I have the bandwidth… we need to leave in about 45 minutes for the bbq.

1-read
2-cut brownies
3-load car and go to bbq

Menus
Friday-bbq with family
Saturday-seared chicken and apple spinach salad

Events
Friday-No Little Bit, clean out DM’s room, stop and pick up butter
Saturday-visit DM

-start laundry
-go pick up butter so I can make brownies with DD32
-email about the oxygen concentrator
-delete email
-email about church monthly donation, the financial planner, tax guy
-figure out other issues that are either handled by the death certificate or can be handled later
-reboot laundry
-make brownies with DD32
-outside walk

((L.Ann)) I'm sorry. Keeping you in my thoughts tonight and for the days to come. It's nice that you are able to make good use of the things that are no longer needed for her.

Waving to all.
Thank you kittykatt for the childcare suggestion, not sure it would be feasible. I for one wouldn't call it a break if I was to take care of several boys for a whole week. Just today after school, DS's best friend came over for an hour, and I was so relieved when his mom arrived - I wouldn't have endured it for another hour. They're good-hearted and smart, but... they just never stop moving and shouting.
Bama I know about cherishing the moments. I try to live in the moment with the kids when I'm with them.
helia lucky you, two puppies and great social time !
Hi laura and Gma!

It was a good idea to walk the kids to school for their last day. I was a bit late at work but no one really noticed. Had some not-really-nice exchange with boss but it didn't last long. Back home, MrNG was leaving for his job tomorrow, 2hours from here, and there will be many people on the roads tomorrow for the start of the school break, so he is sleeping there tonight. I decided to bring the boys to the local grocery store to decide what they wanted for dinner and they picked their favorite, and I had leftover hummus and veggies and we watched The Secret of Kells and ate ice-cream.
Great way to celebrate the end of the schoolyear.

Hello everyone!

L.Ann, I'm very sorry to read about your DMum. It sounds as though everyone at the NHS thought very highly of her. It must make it that bit easier for you having the funeral already arranged .

Have a lovely walk with DF and Fable, Helian!

I hope you have a good day at work, Laura.

Gma, that is a genius way to repurpose a door as a desk. I especially like the way the cables are all tidied away through the hole where the handle used to be.

Bama, I grew up in a resort town, and tended, as I think most kids to, to take it all for granted. You mean everyone can't walk to the beach from their house?

FFB, what a lovely way to celebrate the end of the school year (I had a feeling that boys would probably be more exhausting than girls to mind for a week! Girls seem to be quite happy to play nicely indoors , or in the garden , or make slime (this is also an outdoor activity!!!) and consider walking to the local shop to buy an ice cream all on their own, to be a huge treat (there's only one road to cross, it's not that busy and visibility is very good).

Hi, Peaches!

It's been a good day. I got a lot done in my garden this morning, had a successful time in town and stocked up with chocolates and thank you cards. And with a lot of help from the lovely cashier, we finally managed to be persuade the system to accept my gift card.

When I got home I folded laundry while it was too hot (28C) to work outside. This event I've sprayed the roses and fed the geraniums. I'll feed to potted roses tomorrow, if it doesn't rain. Freddie has had another walk, and was most affronted when the two pigeons he was tracking flew away  I've done the delicate LOL and it's hanging to dry. The dishwasher is running on the cleaning cycle and I've cleaned the filter and spray arms. The kitties have been fed, and, most important, I've played with Freddie and Matilda (Jude wasn't interested, she's a little lady who prefers to play by herself  )
