A break. I told dh I had to sit down and not interact for awhile. After I posted earlier I started in on the Rosh Hashanah invites, and he pulled out the brisket to trim down and get ready for the oven. So I abandoned what I was doing (imagine that!) and together we got the raw meat into two pans, with veggies and stuff and both pans into the oven together. So that is going. After the clean up I have to have some space and at some point I'll get back to the invitations. I'm doing the online kind that go to email or a phone, like I did for the retirement party.

Cathy, we have leftover burgers, dogs, and corn on the cob from yesterday for our dinner tonight. I'm surprised your temps are high enough to still get peppers and fruits? And thanks for starting us today!

I need to look back, LadyM, and see what you did to leave you sore today. Yesterday is kind of hazy. I looked in last night I think. But a walk at the park is lovely to keep those joints and muscles moving. (Motion is lotion!)

LOL Lucylee about the brain fog, which seems to have settled here also! I hope the cooler weather that we're having today - high of only 80 - extends to you too. But we have a chance of rain too, I hope it misses your picnic!

Thank you dear Harriet for starting the new month's threads! You mentioned pulling weeds or working in the yard the other day (or was it yesterday?) - did I misunderstand or are you permitted to do so now? What great news!

I'm feeling sore today from a fast-paced walk yesterday. I've been limiting my walking over the past couple of months due to hip pain, and it's surprising how quickly I've lost muscle. My hip is hurting again today, but I'm hoping it's just from increased activity and will settle down in a couple of days.

DS17 came home from work with pain in the groin area after lifting something heavy. We are using ice, rest, and ibuprofen and will monitor how he responds.

Eight pounds of meat are cooked and ready to eat, along with mac and cheese. The family has plenty of food on hand. I'll prepare my meal later since I'm not hungry yet.

DH is using the zero-turn mower today without any issues. It makes me happy to see him doing everyday things.

Got my chapter read of one book.
A few pages of the other one I have an assg. to do on it.

Dumped my trash.
Fixed and ate my lunch.
Got the kitchen hall & dining and main bathroom swept & mopped yea!

On a rest break now.

Had a good talk with my dsis today.

The Toronto Argonauts won the Labour Day Classic in the last second of the game with a successful kick through the uprights!! Of course, the TV news station that we watch would have preferred it if the Hamilton team had won.

Twins' Mom I completely expect to still be getting strawberries until the middle of October. I have been keeping track of when I usually get the last berry of the summer. It's not really a great berry with the middle still being mostly white, but it's like a Canadian Thanksgiving ritual for me. No idea how much longer the red peppers will continue but there are probably close to 10 more out there. Dh asked how many zippered bags we had in the freezers and I think there are 3 full bags. I will do an inventory after the peppers are done.

Out of the 3 different "Classic" games over the past 2 days, dh was happy about the results for 2 of the games.

I just put away the second load of laundry and the dishwasher has been emptied. I also swept "most" of the house while I was waiting for the dryer to finish the second load. Lots of cat hair, but not much of anything else.

Good evening! Spent most of the day with dfriends P&K. It’s nice to have such good friends that we can spend 9 hours together and enjoy ourselves. I had the passing thought that someday I should get a hotel room and have a good old sleepover with K, but then I realized sleep would be the problem — she’s an early bird, and I’m a night owl. So I’d be twiddling for a couple of hours in the evening, and she’d be doing the same in the morning.

That’s all I’ve got for today, except that I did wash a load and get it into the dryer before we left. See you tomorrow!

Twins', the 100-day mark was passed, plus 4 more weeks. So, I was released by dr for tending plants in my beds wearing gloves, though NOT digging. Still under strict instructions not to bring new plants into the house until the end of this calendar year. For instance, we may have no real wreaths, no real tree, probably not even a poinsettia this year. I can work with my own indoor plants now but not pot-up or transplant. They have to stay in their containers or someone else must take them outside and do the work. For weeding, HRH prescribed a method he could stand to see me do. Long gloves, long sleeves, with help from him for anything that didn't readily release, then washing up. He talked about doing it all himself, but quickly proved to both of us that he was getting weeds and flowers mixed up, so, nope.

According to the paperwork, I should be able to vacuum now, but the family is aghast, so still using the dry then wet swiffer, or bono brand for wood floors, and HRH uses the carpet sweeper when I'm in another part of the house. He does the kitty potty chores when I'm well out of the way. Otherwise, Tobias is not restricted except he can't sleep on the bed, which he never does anyway. My granddogs and grandcat are not for me to pet. I forgot and petted Pearl the kitty and got shooed to the sink to wash up. Oops. It was her cuteness' fault. I was innocent.

The broccoli sprouts have had their day of photosynthesis in the windows chasing the sunshine and are rinsed, in the fridge.

Made a cake of cornbread for supper. It's almost all gone.

Harriet, I stuffed all the weeds/trimming from Saturday into my garbage can and I stuffed too tight. Garbage truck came today and dumped out the bag I had on top, but all the branches and stuff are still in there! I’m going to have to get the rake or something and find another way to dispose of all this.

We had a good day at the picnic, only stayed till about 1:00 pm. Dgd came home with me and we played a little while, (after she allowed me a short nap) she ate supper, and I took her home.
I ate more of the famous stew from the picnic, put the rest in ziplock bags in the freezer, and now my stomach is upset. Too much stew? Nerves?

Got a football ticket from dbil do I can sell 4 to dcousin.
For some reason I’m all nervous about this. Makes no sense at all. Dcousin and his wife are wonderful people.
BUT — dcousin’s mom asked me, “if they take dd (age2?3?)and y’all only have three seats, could they buy just a random ticket and she still sit there in y’all seats? She would be in her mom’s lap most of the time anyway.”
First, this is not even concerning Saturday. They are buying 4 seats for Saturday.
Dcousin HOPES to go to two more games, SEC games that will be crowded. I do NOT want them trying to crowd 4 people into 3 seats and pushing into dbil’s space.
But I’m trying not to “forecast trouble.” After they see little one’s attention span and consider the price for SEC tickets, they may reconsider the whole thing.
I think I’m just going to tell them I would not consider hoping for space at a major SEC game, and I wouldn’t count on scalpers selling tickets. (They want all tickets to be digital now, on your phone. Dbil and I pay extra to get paper tickets.)
Also, dcousin’s wife coaches volleyball and weekend tournaments are pretty common, so they might not be able to go anyway.

I’m also kinda nervous about tomorrow… gotta take dmom to doctor. Back brace has not come in yet, so I don’t know what good he can do… and then she wants to go to Lowe’s. Y’all, she wants to see how much an electric riding mower costs! I don’t think she needs to be mowing her yard, but like I told Dgd, “once they turn 80 years old, you can’t tell them nothing.”

Also might go to Belk and swap two tops that came in this weekend. They are too long. I feel pregnant in them. Ddil says they look fine. I am very undecided.
