Yesterday we had 6 whole hours of no teenagers in our home. Today we are back to our normal 3 teenagers. This means food is a constant priority to keep everyone fed.

I told DH that if I got anymore relaxed that I would just be a blob on the floor. I do enjoy the Sunday relax mode. I'm ignoring the upcoming week busy schedule and just focusing on staying in the moment.

Bday bunch with dgd's and dgson in love.
That was fun.
I spiffed up the kitchen before I left it was like a gift to myself when I came home!

Got the crocheting I did yesterday frogged out made a boo boo.
Working on putting it back again today!

Update: I've did a bit in the sewing room; mended some summer pj's
hemmed some market bags from old tee shirts.
Did up the dishes.
Got that yarn re-knit took a bit more out then put it back sort of two steps forward 1 step back today.
Ordered a jean skirt two books pen refills & yarn.

Hello! Yes, it still seems like summer here, for sure! BUT -- dgd and I went out and sat on the porch swing for awhile, and it was really windy, so almost felt chilly out there.
But -- if there's no wind -- yep, it's still summer.

I'm glad you got to have your birthday dinner, Nancy! DGD asked when we were doing mine, and I said I do not know. Don't much care.

Yes, yes, I know it will be nice to be entertained by the young couple who are so taken with my dmom... sigh. I just don't do well with planning and anticipating social occasions. However, I just told dmom, my FREE TIME -- THAT I WAS SOOO LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS WEEKEND -- has suddenly taken a turn. DGD doesn't really want to go to the game Saturday with ds, ddil, and dgs. She had rather stay with me. AUUUUGGHHH!!!
Besides the fact that I was really looking forward to going to see the Downton Abbey movie maybe Friday afternoon, and the fact that I could have a quiet Saturday to myself and watch the game on tv without interruptions...
-- there's this -- and I'm being kinda petty -- but I paid dbil $40 for dgd's ticket. If I had known she wasn't going, dbil could have kept his extra ticket and I could have kept my $40. It just aggravates me.

BTW, dmom says the new back brace is not as helpful as she had hoped. Another aggravation.

Golf is a good lifetime sport. Although you are right, Harriet, it can get awfully expensive. DH enjoyed playing very much until his arthritis got so bad.

We do not recognize Grandparents' Day around here either. I had forgotten about it myself.

I need something to calm my mind, LadyM.

I will have no one underfoot for most of the week; I don't know why losing my weekend bothers me so much. I hate to think I'm this stingy over $40... BUT... this week again is filling up -- Monday, football game... Wednesday, church... Thursday, school pick-up... now Friday/Saturday with dgd (although she did tell me she might be going to the pastor's house Friday evening to play with pastor's grandson, and they might even go to Ch*ckie Ch**se! So Friday might be free till bedtime, anyway.

I do feel a lot better about NOT taking the kids to College Town, however. DGS has assured me HE does not miss the weekly trips (well, usually 7 out of 10 weeks this year) and now I find out dgd doesn't want to go even if she can spend the weekend with her daddy and mommy. SMH...
DH would be sad to think they didn't enjoy it as much as he thought they did -- but OTOH, when he was here, I think they did -- as I think Harriet told me once, it was something special they got to do because of their granddaddy, but it's not the same for them either, without him.

Cathy, I have not tried washing my pillows, but I do put the "MyPillow" brand ones in the dryer for about 10 minutes when I change sheets. It really helps fluff them up, and I guess if I used a scented dryer sheet, it would help the smell. I think Febreeze is good also, as well as hanging out in the sun.

Twins, the beach sounds nice. I wish I could just get in my car and drive down there, without telling dmom or anyone else, and just hibernate for a week or two. (Ha! That would cost a lot more than the $40 I'm griping about, wouldn't it?)

(((HUGS))) for the Mystery household. I think one of the men in our church has had the flu -- he made announcements this morning re: upcoming events, and he told us all to be sure and get our flu shots. DH and I always got ours the week of ds' birthday -- remember, Sheldon was very precise with these things -- and that will be October 20. I don't know if the flu is moving through our community early this year or what.

seeing no one I knew, which is my main criteria for successful as well, lol. Of course, HRH chats to the checkout guy as if they are long lost pals.

I can relate to so much of this!!! I immediately thought of my ddad as you mentioned HRH... but dh would say that was me, as well. Lately, however, I think it is a successful trip when I see no one I know.

I've still got to do my Sunday chores. I just took dgd home, and now I need to get the trash to the road. I should go to Wmart, but my stomach has been raging at me all day, and activity makes it worse. I'm putting that off till tomorrow.

And quarterly scheduled time we all need to refill our tanks.
