Hello hello! Can't sit down for more than five minutes else I lose my momentum. Had a meeting run till 3:45, add to that the 1:15 commute time (meeting was on wrong side of the city), and it's 5:15 and I just got home!

Hello, all. I'm afraid that I faded away again, but I'm back. I'm not sure how far I'll get on reportable Ta Das, as I plan to call my db for a phone visit today. But first off is to wrestle my Inner Brat into the shower to wash hair and emerge all clean and sparkly. It's another beautiful fall day, so I can bring Germane out for a carry.
I see a wasp has bumbled into the apartment. I'm waiting for the sun to move further west and down, and then I'll open the patio door and screen wide for it to find its way out again.

Thank you for starting us off, trissie, and for introducing us to an actor that is different from the ones presented by the relentless promotional crew.
BTW, I am almost finished listening to a Louise Penny mystery, in which the Czech community in Quebec figures prominently. I thought that was cool, as we don't hear about Czechs in Canada as often as we do Ukranians, for instance. This one is called The Brutal Telling.

We have had so much beautiful weather here, Kittykatt, that our trees are dropping their leaves early and the gardening show was all about how to offset the stress to your trees before winter. (Spoiler: water them.) So at least that's one issue you won't have with the rain that you have been getting.

That's a good point about critters moving in when the grass gets longer, Bama, and that where you live those critters are less likely to be welcome.
I made cornbread yesterday, so I'll happily share if you pass over some of those cannellini beans that I have never heard of until just now.

Sympathy to you, helian. I remember that feeling of sorrow and relief when my dh died. Part of him had been gone for a long time, but the end has finality. When, where will you have the service for her?

My landscape contractor said he's be here at 7. I was awakened at 0620! with the arrival of the truck. They were gone by 10. I went back to bed! I have work to do - attach "poultry netting" also known as chicken wire to the plastic lattice under my deck to keep rabbits and ?? other rodents from gnawing through. There are several holes already that I need to cover. It is not a day conducive to working outside. Temp is in the mid-80s. When I woke up the temp was 70 with a dew point of 69. Way too humid and hot, but the work ahs to get done. The mosquitoes think is is great weather for feeding - on human flesh and blood! This year somehting has happened to my body that they think is delicious - I used to not be so susceptible to them.
I have about 45 minutes until I have to leave for exercise class, so I should at least get a small start on today's project. Maybe I'll have more energy after exercise.
My attempt to lose weight is not going well. One has to do some planning on what to eat in order to have nutrition and low calories, and I havent' had time or inclination to do that. Besides, candy corn is in the stores for autumn until hallowe'en. (Maybe if I ate less sugar I'd have more energy?

Doggedly, is it inner brat Monday? I feel like it is. Passing beans and eagerly awaiting some cornbread. I recently heard that it’s good with pepper jelly and it’s true. I set out the jelly so I don’t forget it. The beans are white kidney beans, taste is similar to great northern or baby limas imo.
