Question for you:
I just saw an article saying that liquid detergent is bad for you, causes cancer… do you use liquid or powder and what brand? I’m using gain liquid right now for clothes and a powder (gain or arm&hammer) for linens just because it’s cheaper and I wash so many plus for no real reason I feel like the abrasiveness helps clean the furniture covers better (pet hair).

I googled it, Bama, and there was an overview that talked about the risk and what you can look for on detergents to reduce the risk.I personally use liquid or pods.

LOL, that first time that I got up with Germane in the middle of the night was 5:30 am, L.Ann. I'll leave those early mornings to you!
I hadn't heard that there was a difference in cancer risk between liquid detergent and powder, Bama. I use liquid because my powders always bind into one hard clump that I have to scratch at with the plastic cup like a prisoner trying to dig his way through stone walls with his cup.
My day has taken an unplanned turn. Usually when my sink blocks up, it sorts itself out overnight because the problem is actually caused further down the line from me. This time, it did go down overnight but backed right up as soon as I used the sink. I tried plunging first, then put down a caustic solution, but now that's stuck in there. I have to wait for it to slowly drain again before I can try the air canon. I don't want to go shopping while the sink is in that state, so I'll turn my attention to other things. There's plenty to choose from!

Re: Gaia Weiss Wednesday @ TDD - C&C
Thanks LAnn.
Doggedly thanks for reminding me why I gave up powder in the first place.
It was in an ad for a “clean” powder so I’m not sweating it right now. That’s a rabbit hole for future me.
Done:
Up
Weigh
Bible
Send birthday wishes to db and his wife
Get dressed
Bathroom - wipe counter and sink, clean toilet, scoop litter, collect trash, tidy dh’s stuff on counter
Order clover
My closet - put empty hangers together, donate one article of clothing, gather and wash tops
Dh’s bedroom - tidy, make donation box and put some items in it, pu floor, clean spot on floor, put some fall decor out in lr that was just sitting around
Pets - fed, watered, litter scooped
Ate breakfast
Water

Wiped down kitchen
Spray Daisy with water bottle bc she won’t leave others alone
Log breakfast
Add detergent to grocery list
Give dogs remainder of canned food the cats didn’t eat yesterday
Dw
Laundry
-dry bottoms
-wash tops
-dry tops
Do:
Sort and put away tops
Wash and fill hummingbird feeders
Water potted porch plants

Bama, I use liquid in the laundry. Is the cancer risk from residue on clothes washed in it or from exposure to the liquid while putting it in the machine?
I'm sorry about the sink, Doggedly. Ugh.
You get up so early, L Ann!!
Hi Peaches.
I've had that experience, trissie, finding something hilarious as a young person and only to see it again as an adult and wonder -- what was I thinking?
I do like Monty Python though! Sounds like a nice evening out.
Next
- get 2 items from WF for dinner tonight
- go for a walk to clear my head
- bins back from the curb
- some qt
Later:
- make bed
- some qt
- edit obituary; find photo
- start writing cards - those who sent my mom cards in the NH
- go for a walk
- bins back from the curb
- Kroger order
- dinner: peanut chicken, rice, zucchini
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps
TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- back exercises; I hurt it more by twisting to get some TP while going to the restroom in the middle of the night
- coffee
- reviewed bnb options with dh and booked one
- email deletions + weather website - sunny and high of 83*F today; high of 87*F tomorrow!
- payroll: prepped IW D4
- emailed date and time of service to EP
- s2s and self care
- squeegeed and wiped down shower
- otd; parked in garage
- 11-1 payroll: taught IW D4
- home; lunch
- messaged DF with details
- payroll: posted HW3
- called church; later called the pastor
- called funeral home; SS should be contacted and increased # of DCs
- called good catering Co - fully booked
- looked at other catering businesses; feeling it's not worth the hassle for an unknown co. - and the food looks heavier, not the nice finger food the other company had; not worth it for maybe 20 people
- emailed church - I'll just do the women's cookie and coffee/ lemonade reception
- on hold off and on for 45 minutes with SURS of IL -- I occasionally do something to my phone and get out of the queue; hung up because I was getting frustrated
- reclaimed kitchen

Re: Gaia Weiss Wednesday @ TDD - C&C
I have about 5 seconds:
my landscape guy left.
I have work to do - wetting up a watering system.
My mother tested + for COVID at the NH today. They have a good protocol and a good record of caring for people successfully.

Gma, sending get well wishes to your DMum
Bama, thank you for your very kind d words. This probably isn't going to be much help as the UK al.ost certainly uses different brands /varieties of washing powders /liquids etc, but I use Persil bio pods for the whites, Persil Wonderwash for the darks and coloureds, Woolite liquid for delicates amd woollens, and Comfort pure fabric conditioner (no fragrance ). I always wash my hands if I spill any and mop up spills. IMHO, I think that the artificial fragrances from things like air fresheners and scented candles are probably more of a health concern ( we dont use either of these)
The kitchen is done, and I'm in bed. Night night, everyone!
