it's quiet here at the hospital - first time today and appreciated.
they had a scary kerfuffle here- a security baby missing. alert went out - 10 minutes later the alert was cancelled. so scary for the mom/dad

I will head home at 7:00-7:30 after the change of staff.
mom hasn't eaten. hoping she wakes up so I can feed her.

I am supposed to be here in the am - dd younger will be here when brother comes back. I will be here the rest of the afternoon and evening.
I am hoping to finish my christmas cleaning card file

TN won big today and FL State is winning big as well. Dh is watching FL state, still in second Q?

I spent a little time upstairs and then napped. We just walked the ddog. Need to get ready but we probably won't leave for 1.5 hours.

bw2, yes, do not allow your brother to say such things in your dmom's room. Even tho she may be resting she is probably aware. I had to google Fleischschnacka. I bet that would be a wonderful treat for your dmom. Would it soften your brother up? (BTW, I'm a believer in Hospice as well. Would talking to the hospital social worker help sort things out at all?)

We had crabapples too, Lucylee. After a few attempts over the years, we knew they were not for eating.

Would be so lovely to sleep outside, Nancy. Our screened porch would be good for sleeping in cool weather. We're just getting there. It's still nearly 90 degrees here in afternoons. Mornings feel good early on.

Hoping Harriet's ds's lawnmower search has been fruitful. Should be a good time to be purchasing a new one. I do writing while nearly asleep, Harriet. I bet I recited my case study/published article in mind a thousand times!

A lot of that is done while asleep or nearly asleep, I think, lol.

RR could you have spilled milk or something that would stink? I hope the airing out helps. I'm glad you're still getting in beach time, too. Does a soul good, doesn't it?

I'm going to go get dressed and ready to go out later. Tomorrow I start cooking.

I found out that I don't have any choices with happens with mom. it's heart breaking.
I wish I could bring her home for hospice in the long run- the drs keep telling us that mom is getting better and better. I don't know

So your brother has Power of Attorney— all the legal rights to say what is done for her if she can not answer for herself?
I would still listen to the recommendation of the doctors and try to impress on your brother that they ARE the professionals and we have to trust them; and they are involved with her care 24/7 unlike his girlfriend!
That girlfriend situation would really have my blood boiling, but that’s another story, I guess. She should have no say whatsoever re: your mom.

Sigh. Here in my little corner of the world, dgs is running around re-enacting football seasons, we are a bit disappointed bc we lost in the final minutes of the game by 5 points, and ddil and Dgd are staying home from church tomorrow— ddil with upset stomach and Dgd with cough. So I have to teach ddil’s Sunday School class. (Which is very likely to be only dgs!) Ds is in Arkansas.

I am going to get a shower and try to head to bed soon. I made myself a card:

Weigh — drink water
Stretching exercises
Bible and breakfast
Do some productive task

I know y’all must get tired of my constant attempts to start over and find a routine that works. Hope springs eternal.
