thinking of you today, helia! I am kinda surprised F is still cleared to fly - isn't she due very soon? Most airlines here require a doctor's approval after 34 weeks (some even by 28 weeks) and don't accept women after 36 weeks at all.
lauralind, by now you must know that I don't sleep much and fight the perpetual haze with huge amounts of cafe-au-lait magic! :-)
Dogged, actually fall and winter are our main cottage season. Spring and summer - our weekends are full with kids' obligations and events they want to attend, and we have the garden at home which screams for attention, but fall and winter, we light up fire and play board games at the cottage. The first night is cold, but that's what hot water bottles in bed are made for! :-)

Don't know what I've been doing, but I spent a lot of time doing it!

Shows how much I know, trissie, LOL! Here, cottages are mostly a summer thing, up to 3 seasons for the die-hards. Except in skiing areas. It's great that yours is good all year round.

WTG on getting the slideshow done, helia.

Lauralind, do you find the prices in the Costco warehouse much lower than their online price? My db keeps telling me how good the Costco price for coffee is, but I have priced it out per 100 g from their web site and compared it to what I have paid in the grocery store on sale, and I'm still seeing better prices in the grocery store.

Hi, Peaches

I have done general housework and washed some dishes. Now I have to sprint for the shower, get Germane settled in her pen and go pick up the rental car. I'll deposit my OAS cheque while I'm out and pick up another jar of gefilte fish for my db.

I was seriously irked to see that the planter dripped dirty plant water all over the window washing gadget that I am bringing for my nephew to try. I had kept it dry for the trip. Oh, well.

Trissie that's true. You're always up that late or mre. I am just trying still to see how you function that way. But you are used to it.

Doggedly i have not looked at Costco online. Ours is almost 3 hours away so we only get there a few times a year.

Hello everyone!

Thinking of Helia today especially.

It's been a full day. The good news, Matilda's ultrasound and x-ray went well, and everything is normal, with no signs of bladder stones. :D (For anyone who is interested, ultrasound is the renewal go to for looking at bladders, but there's one type of stone that shows up better under x-ray.) And the cystocentesis sample has been sent to the lab, to identify if she has a long standing infection rumbling away, (we don't think so, but it's good to be sure), and also check for any crystals and if so, which type. Some new food has been ordered for her (it's only obtainable from the vet), so we should hear about everything in in a few days.

Ive been to visit C and had time in my garden. DF PM still had water, albeit at a low pressure, but fortunately it appears they the water board have at least made a temporary repair. Ive also had a good chat with DF CW and Dneighbour S.

Tomorrow will hopefully be my last visit to C, before DF PL returns on Sunday! Ive a lot of admin type tasks to complete tomorrow, one tree ask at a time.

Yes, you wouldn't want to that trip too often, Lauralind.

Hooray for good news for Matilda, Kittykatt. I assume that she has supped and is satisfied that life is unfolding as it should.

Friday
Scrubbed out sink and basin
Washed some dishes
Cleaned up after dog
Wiped down accessible surfaces
Put on a pot of coffee
Showered/washed hair
Settled dog in pen
Picked up rental car
Deposited OAS cheque at bank
Got some money for vacation
Went to the grocery store that has the good kosher section
Picked up gefilte fish to bring to db, and some other groceries
Gave the bag of rice to the food bank fundraiser
Registered the rental car for parking
Transferred the back seat cover and dog crate to rental car
Set up the tarp in trunk of rental car
Transferred night glasses and sun glasses to rental car
Brought groceries upstairs
Freed Germane and celebrated with dog food
Benadryl and treat for dog

I am taking a break after my adventures, and then I'll take Germane for a walk and move her playpen to the car. I don't like to put too much in the car the day before in order to avoid making it a target for theft, but if it's going to rain tomorrow, that means getting everything wet as it's being loaded. So I'm trying to balance those out.

Doggedly, It's a shame that today's world is such that we have to worry about theft from a locked car at our homes. You could load the car, then cover it with a tarp or blanket. Then put a few low value items of no interest to thieves on top.
Glad to hear Matilda's good news. I hope she will eat the new food, and that will take care of all her ills.
((helian)) all will be well
thinking of you , too, l.ann, as you wait for the date of your mother's service. even tho small, it will be meaningful

I've been to mother's, brought her a chocolate malt and some banana muffins that I baked. The dear aide opened the window so we could talk through the screen. That cheered her up. She has not been eating well. Her cognitive status has declined. I had to direct her to pick up the container, etc, directions for every step of the way. She is on her 10th day of COVID isolation, and tomorrow she is "free". I will be taking her outside; the weather forecast is for a beautiful day. She wants to see my newly "redecorated" yard, and my new roof.
So I have a full day on Saturday:

Missions quilters in the morning at church - we tie 2 quilts for Lutheran World Relief
Water my yard as soon as that's over
Then get mother for the afternoon
Meet MrVKM for supper and attend a play at nearby University. To make supper easy, we are going to a buffet called Pizza Ranch, that's very informal. And this play is aslo an informal event, so I can wear the same casual outfit all day. I'll dress it up with earrings
And come home and go to bed! So I can get up for church on Sunday.
