Instead of taking a 45-minute break, I took just 10 minutes, then headed outside for some fresh air. I walked around the circular driveway four times, picking up tree limbs along the way and tossing them into the trailer.

I have chocolate pumpkin bread in the oven now.
Just put it in house will be smelling fabulous in a while.
Brought up the wire holiday basket with metal holly leaves on it and
my new to me snow man items! Forgot to bring it up yesterday.
Did up my dishes and put them away.
More dishes.
Ch. pumpkin bread is cooking now.
Bread is cooled off and I"ve gotten it ready to go in the freezer for later.
I did a few rows of knitting and crocheted a row.
Got my steps in yea!
Read a chapter in my Bible study type book, and one in a novel this evening.
Starting to turn off the Christmas lites.

I slept longer than I intended to today, but not nearly as late as I did yesterday.
Had to go to the church and sign three checks, (then came back home to use the bathroom -- small breakfast of pb crackers was hitting me pretty hard. Maybe I'm sensitive to gluten?) then back out to library to drop off memorial book in dh's name and renew my library card, post office, drug store, and grocery store. BACK home, read the paper, back to town to pick up DGS after Scholar's Bowl practice, took him to Sonic for a snack, back to my house where he and I got out all the rest of the Christmas decorations. Everything is done now, I think. He and I went to the local steak house for supper, and then I took him home.
I also made the phone call I intended earlier, but got an answering machine, so I just let it go. They will send the money when they send the money.
This is a government agency that is operating locally out of temporary offices because they had a flooding problem several months ago, so I guess they have higher class worries.
Tomorrow morning I'm supposed to go to chair yoga at 10:00 and I know that's going to be hard to wake up for. Especially in this cold weather. Brrrr...
I also meant to color my hair today (until the church secretary called and I had to go up there.) I won't get up early enough tomorrow to do that before yoga, but maybe I will when I get back home. I know I should just get some highlights and let my hair go natural... but I am just not ready yet to be 100% gray.
I've been doing a lot of nothing since dgs went home. Maybe I should just go to bed early.
Hope you all have a great day tomorrow.

Nancy's kitchen smells so good!
Cathy, that recipe sounds very like my dfirstmil's cabbage casserole, which I thought was really good. HRH likes cabbage fine, but wants it raw and generally finds casseroles suspicious, lol. So I haven't made that in a long time.
Cathy, when you start embroidery, do you leave a long tail and then weave it in later? Or is it not that big a deal to have a knot?
lucylee, you are getting plenty done. Did I miss something - you are taking yoga classes now? Have fun.
Ddolder and a couple of the boys came over. They did a couple small chores while they were here.
So grateful that it's a "day off" here for us tomorrow. We have groceries arriving tomorrow and then will figure out how to box and mail a couple gifts he's bought for distant friends. I may need to do some resizing of existing boxes to get these postal-ready. Our green-eyed boy has already been by to retrieve his mother's gift while she was away.

Yesterday was busy round the house, especially cleaning the sitting room. And I discovered that it's possible to purchase just the spring that's broken on one of the leaves of the drop leaf dining table, rather than trying to track down a whole hinge. It's very difficult to access to measure , so Ibe taken my best guess and ordered the spring in two lengths (They're very inexpensive, but I should be able to return the one that's not right.) I'm not sure if I'll be able to actually replace the spring myself, especially as the old, broken spring is being recalcitrant and not cooperating with attempts to take it out, or whether I'll need someone to come and do it for me!
On the sparkle side, it was our women's group Advent meditation at church yesterday evening - a lovely quiet, peaceful time- followed by a meal out together.

Harriet, it’s chair yoga, once a week at my church. The lady teaching us is doing it for free. There’s about a dozen of us, and I think I’m the youngest. The oldest lady is awfully close to 90. It’s not very strenuous but it does make me feel better.
Tomorrow will probably be my last class for the year, because I have a dentist appointment next week and dmom has a doctor’s appt the next week.
I’m getting pretty sleepy. Maybe I can fall asleep before dawn tonight!
