helia, I missed it - is something wrong with your car? Re French macarons, I never quite got the hype. I did make them with the girls once, because they wanted to try a box mix, but I don't eat them even if other people make them!

Hello, all. I have spent much too long on my computer going over Pet Valu's web site with a fine toothed comb to maximize my savings from their sale. I'm trying to give Germane a variety of foods in case her pickiness gets redirected. The sale is for store pick up, but my local store doesn't have everything in stock and it doesn't seem possible to order a case to pick up at store. So after trying various combinations, I have one order to pick up from the store, and one case of duck & pea to be delivered. I would very much like to be finished with the computer and go do laundry, but I am determined to finish this off and order Germane's pee pads. Then I will be confident that I will not be scrambling to replenish something over Christmas. She also has her grooming appointment this week, so that's take care of.

Kittykatt, I think that we have Dead Man's Folly under another name. There were a lot of Christie books that were released under a different name in North America, I think, and some that they just changed the name and rereleased. I remember the plot. It's a fun one.
Very wise to get your routines and prioritized before your DH retires, so that you know where your boundaries are.

I was confused about the cookies today because I thought that the ones made with egg white and almond were called macarons, and that when Europeans come to North America and are offered macaroons they are disappointed to see random glops of chocolate and coconut.

L.Ann, how cold is cold? I would imagine that you feel it more, as your houses and wardrobes are not designed around -20 C.

Well, phooey, I just made a TADAs and TODOs post, hit submit, but it's gone.
That was supposed to be my list for this aftenoon. Now I don't know what I am going to do
So I guess I better jsut start by doing somehtign!

Maybe load the DW, which will clear counters and sink a little.
I have almost 20 cards that came while I was gone - some will be sympathy that need acknowledgment. I need to take those to mother's house, where I have a table for workspace, and where the acknowledgement cards are.
And part of her driveway needs to be shoveled, to manitain clear safe path for tenant (who is from Africa, and has no clue about living in this climate!
A be prepared to go to public school Winter choir concert - always good music, I have no kid in it, but do have kids from church that I know.

And it's BRR, COLD here today again - warmer than yesterday, but damp penetrating cold, with wind, so a challenge to be outside.

TADAs - several errands accomplished, plus phone call to the public school about the girl I helped, to let the social worker know about the situation.

I suspect that your wind is colder than ours, Gma. I am very happy not to have to go out just now. I checked the pet food store's web site: I have five days to pick up my order. That is fine; Germane has her grooming appointment on Wednesday so on the way home I'll pick up dog food and get gift bags for the Christmas presents.

In the meantime, I have gotten a couple of loads of laundry started. I brought German with me to give her a break from the apartment. She will probably decline the next two trips to the laundry room.

Helia, over here (English) football is just called Football. I don't think I've heard the term "soccer" used here for over 40 years! American football is called American football here, and I have a feeling that we call football in Australia, "Australian rules football", but I'm not 100% sure about this last one!

Christmas front, still no more real progress has been made, although I have put the cards out, and I have some of the decorations out from their storage place and ready to go up in the sitting room tomorrow once I've cleaned there, so I suppose that's progress of a sort!
