Ugh. Sorry about the family drama, trissie.
Sorry about the account difficulties, L Ann. Ugh.
kitkat, WTG with your work out! Yes, we've had our share of labs. They are puppies for quite a while with a good share of love and energy. I'm dogsitting dd27's lab puppy tonight. She is 14 months old. :)
Bama, it sounds like people are calling you because they know you're a kind person. I hope you get more rest tonight.

Next:
- WF
- put away a few items
- payroll: grade midterm tests

More Done:
- photo of letter + emailed trustee (forgot to include before)
- lunch + clean up
- bed made
- darks to dryer; lights washing
- chatted with dd27 who stopped by to use our printer to print out some patterns for gifts she's making
- WF list ready - short

It was after Midnight here when I posted that Trissie. Rarely does the new thread start before 0130-2 here. The anxiety for kids wondering if they will get what they want, if they will be "good enough" to get gifts, impacts drama behavior in almost every family, every year. And So much to do for parents, to get it all in, is another stressor.

TADAs AND TODOs
Sluggish drain fixed at mother's for tenant. He arrived very early, so i slept at mother's so I wouldn't have to get out of the house (and cold) that early!
Faucet is dripping there too, so need to get plumber and probably new faucet.
faucet store is near the garden center where I might find a tree. Need to go there soon, as winter storm warning is in effect for later.
:) wind orchestra concert of Christmas music at college.
papers signed at broker
cards that I have written are mailed, several more to go. Out of stamps.
I think I need to start wrapping what I have bought, get it into mail.
Other things to order from catalogs
and a big candy order for multiple friends out of town/ out of state

Hello, all. I have been skiving and need to dive in. I have truly been caught out. I have not started any of my housework yet, except for cleaning up after Germane and cooking rice. I was sitting at my computer reading about hoarders and other horrors for installers and delivery people on Reddit when the delivery person called because he was stuck in the lobby. My phone code wasn't opening the door, so I had to rush around and bring the handcart to the front lobby. Good reminder to get up and get on with things.

I was thrilled to hear "high of plus five" on the radio today as I woke up. Finally, Germane can have a walk! Then I checked the weather app and it said -18 C with wind chill of -24 C. Maybe it will warm up. Maybe.
Germane is her bright, strategic self today. She has been rationing her pee and poo to maximize treat profit, to the point that I think that she is part Ferengi. Also, she is happy to be back to getting pieces of vegetable from my breakfast. Last night she got too excited about the fish and gave me a good bite while I was trying to share with her. That resulted in a drop in the level of human-food treats, and they were put in her dish instead of being handed to her.
I want to get the fish sauce batched up into the freezer so that I can wash the small slow cooker and fill it with dog-safe vegetables for Germane again. That was a big hit.

Well, then I was happy to give you a taste of tomorrow early on, gma! :-)
Bama, I am with you on treatment of floors! With the roomba effect off for the third week (will buy new one on Thursday, because my warranty claim got accepted), you could hardly tell it's been mopped on Friday!
laundry day, helia?
L.Ann, that's... sweet and not cool at the same time! What did DD do?
Dogged, Germane seems to know exactly what she's doing! What kind of treats does she get when she gets "lost" in the apartment?

LAnn - I can smell that soup cooking:) I used to make it... but DH has to watch his potassium... so Butternut squash is out.
helia have fun puppy sitting:) They ARE fun, but require a LOT of patient training.
Doggedly cooked carrots are my doggie's favourite. WTG on making your dog food:)
Oh, trissie - so sorry:(

take up laundry basket
pa big boxes (for later)

Wash floor
pu DGD/take her home

(((trissie and dfamily))) No judgement here; I spent half of my childhood in the foster care system. My last family was a great one. They found me two jobs and an apartment when I aged out, and furnished it with their old furniture. So many foster kids end up living on the street, and I believe that they were the difference for me.
LOL, Germane gets reassurance and gets picked up and set on her pee pads when she gets lost in the apartment, trissie.

Thanks, kitkat. Beds are tricky, aren't they? Germane has had various beds and the only one that she is willing to use now is like a doughnut with no padding at the centre. Being so small, and having bad joints, I think that squishier beds are like bouncy castles to her.

I have made a start:
Tuesday
Cleaned up after dog X 3
Put on a pot of coffee
Put away dry dishes
Gave dog her Benedryl
Checked the drying laundry
Picked up delivery from lobby
Put on one of my library CDs
Put away dry dishes, which turned into rearranging drying laundry, one of my hobbies that I just can’t stay away from
Washed the soaking dishes
Cleaned up after dog
Brought a couple of cans down to donation box
Checked mail

The situation has been going on for over two years, this is just the latest escalation (which I do hope will bring some change). I've already done my share of counseling about it, I've come to terms that you can't help people who aren't ready to do anything, and also that none of it is my responsibility. I keep the communication open and am always ready to offer help, but that's it. I will be fine once this episode is over, but when I am once again in the middle of it, it's never pretty.

If you don't mind my asking, Dogged, why did you and your brother end up in foster system? Feel free not to answer, it's just that I never met anybody who had that experience.
hi Peaches!
gma, as I said, when we do drama, we do it big! (crooked smile since my life is a Balcan sitcom, it seems)
kitkat, I didn't know that people who have problems with potasium levels cannot have butternut squash soup! You learn something new every day!
