Hello, KitKat and L.Ann!
Yay for a good night's sleep, KitKat. I think I'm naturally quite curious. It was easy to identify my child hood dolls house, it's called Crest Cottage and was made by Triang between 1969 and 1970. It had a Triang label on the back, which was a giveaway, and I just looked through the 1960s and 70s parts of Triang dolls house catalogue, which someone in had very helpfully in posted on line, complete with pictures, until I found it. The dolls house I bought as a renovation project is proving more of a challenge, although I can say with certainty it isn't a Triang, and the very kind lady at Hobbies said it isn't one of theirs.
I hope DD'S basket ball goes well, L Ann - I'm guessing it's undercover, so won't be affected by the rain ?
I've had some time in my garden (parts were still frozen!) and run a quick duster and the hoover round the sitting room. Jist the towels to hang up now, then I'm off out again to DFE's party. Hopefully BBL!

Re: Mr Satterthwaite Saturday
Getting here later - because I lay in bed and worked on a puzzle for a while.
I need to be otd asap to buy stuff to make pulled pork for CG1 tonight. I figured it's probably similar to less time and work than ordering and picking up pizzas OR rotisserie chickens, which would be the other options. It's just 15 people, which is quite small for this group. We're 28 in total, including kids (ages 6 - 20, though the 20yo is at university in California and only joins during vacations).
Have fun at the bball practice, L Ann.
Enjoy the party, Kitty! Wow, another centenarian! You do have a social day today. And WTG on your detective work on your doll house.
Yay for a good night's sleep, kitkat!
Sleep well, Gma.
Next:
- pull 1 rack out of the oven
- preheat oven
- write out short list
- WF for pulled pork stuff
- get the pork in the oven in a large Dutch oven (I don't think it will fit in the crock pot)
TaDas!
- up; weighed self -- up, but probably restaurant food last night
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website

Re: Mr Satterthwaite Saturday
Morning all. I hope you have a good time at the birthday party kittykat. 100 is amazing.
Gma I am so glad you are getting some sorting done in your house. I'm sure your tables look beautiful.
Good thing basketball is inside usually lann. So good dd33 keeps active. Although it keeps mom busy getting her places.
I feel a little better this morning too kitkat. Sleep is so hmmm I need more but I can't..
Pulled pork is great for a large group meal. Only takes a little prep and cooks itself.
Anyway I think I'm going to go make a soak in a bit. Saturday. Both of us are off. I want some of a day off. Plus some cleaning. Need to try out my new carpet cleaner. Everywhere. I only have rug in the living room atm. And an area rug. But entry mat needs it. And this one can do couches too. Dh said he would help.
And ds and maybe Lil j might come for a bit. Ddil was invited to a party this afternoon. And she's making the cake for it. I think ds is keeping Lil j.
I think the bath is calling me.. some qt and start with routines and breakfast.

Re: Mr Satterthwaite Saturday
Glad you and dh both have a day off, Lauralind.
That sounds great, L Ann! Coffee, a book, and a private quiet space.
Got the 11 pounds of pork shoulder in the oven. I don't have a rub and I didn't have time to make one. Oh, well. I cut the shoulder in half, browned it, diced an onion, browned it as well and added root beer. And dh suggested smoked salt, so we put that on too. It's now in the oven.
Dh put up my bird feeder last night. It's about 1 foot from our living room picture window!! And. . . the birds have just found it! Lots of drama. LOL! I can see it all play out quite clearly. Lots of sparrows arrived first, of course, and then a number of what I think are house finches (reddish heads and bellies). A crested titmouse stopped by, and a red-breasted woodpecker is perched on the nearby Japanese maple tree, scoping it out.
This makes me very happy.
TODAY: We have CG1 at 5:30-ish. I can't be too late because I'm bringing the main.
I exercised Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, so I think I won't today
which means I should exercise tomorrow. I might go for a walk today. I'd also like to finish the GGT spreadsheet work, make up guest beds, and maybe get to some writing? Updating goodreads would be a good thing to do. I finally finished my fun middle grade fantasy book last night. Although it took me forever to get through it, it is actually a quick read. Other things: pay snail mail bills, work on decluttering, Stitch Fix check out, email the mother of dniece's friend.

Reading while waiting in the car is one of my favorite things to do, helian. I go to pick up Little Bit early just so I can have time to read. When I am in the car and waiting there is nothing else that I should be doing! The binders are finally done.

Re: Mr Satterthwaite Saturday
Thank you for the information about the COVID shot, L.Ann. I do fit the profile (65 and over). I know that my province provides free COVID and flu vaccinations, but I have to get it through a pharmacy.
That's an idea, Gma. I'm not worried about reacting to either, as I have never have in the past, but if the walk-in doesn't work then I will just try booking one at a time on the web site.
Thank you for another fun start, Kittykatt. I didn't remember Mr. Satterthwaite, but I realize that he must have been the first person narrator in some of the Mr. Harley Quin stories.
Thank you, Kittykatt. The water was back to normal by the time that I went to bed. So today is more Sailing Through Saturday, LOL.
We have to help one another out on tech issues. The tech changes so fast that even people who work in it find themselves being left behind. I'm glad that you found your village to help you get the information about your doll houses.
I'm curious about what work you do in your garden when it's cold enough to have ice. Is this winter pruning while the sap is withdrawn to the soil?
Woo hoo on the good sleep, kitkat!
Good morning, L.Ann. I hope that your DD33 enjoys her basketball practice.
I am at the end of Page 1. Time to get up.
Saturday
Filled the onion bin. That took care of about half of the onions.
Looked up how to store the rest of the onions. There is nowhere in the apartment that meets the onionsโ demands. The cool part of the apartment is right by the patio door, but they want to be out of the light. The bathroom is moist and it and the closet does not have good air flow.
Opened an empty laundry bag to catch the onion skins and hung the onions from the laundry cart. Iโll have to make other arrangements while I do laundry.
Checked emails. The delivery date is tomorrow, but the tracking shows that it is on the truck out for delivery today. Will start watching for it.
Spiffed self
Tried to give Germane breakfast. The turkey and potato food and the salmon food that were a delight yesterday are a disappointment this morning.
Made breakfast.
Germane graciously accepts green beans from my rice bowl, but can smell that I have chicken in there.

โโฟโ * * * Good Morning! * * * โโฟโ
Haha, I guess it's afternoon even in the US by now !
Doggedly, sorry you had difficulty with hot water. Onions : do you really have to store them all? You could just eat them
L.Ann reading in a car is great if you are warm enough, I guess. WTG decluttering binders !
helia good luck with your social evening. I see you've had an exercise session yesterday with your DDs, how nice !
laura good luck on your carpet cleaning endeavours.
kitkat I hope the pup is fine !
kittykatt, thanks for the start. Very interested about what you can find out about the doll's house.
Gma how interesting that you can find info about how many visits you made to your own house, at the time you spend so much time and energy with your DM. I really hope you can reclaim you house the way you want.
Saturday is supposed to be family fun day, according to FlyLady. Well, so far it wasn't bad. The boys had each a sports session this morning. They enjoyed it, it was a sunny morning. After lunch and a short trip to the library (me), I drove the kids to a city playground they enjoy, and we spend two hours there, having fun. Now it's almost 6 and the housechores are awaiting, but at least we enjoyed the beautiful weather. And MrNG was able to enjoy a quiet house for his own work. Tomorrow is rainy, so it will be very different - hopefully I can get house stuff done.
TADAs
up, kids fed, kids to sports classes
walked to bakery bought bread we like
back home, froze bread, cooked lunch
we ate, I cleaned up
library for a few new books
packed snacks, drove kids to playground
enjoyed ourselves
drove home, unpacked.
TODO
a lol in
oversee homework
make room in the LR for family movie night (we need to be able to put the pizzas on the coffee table)
lol on indoors drying rack
pizza in the oven, choose movie
enjoy family movie night
certainly a few more things before bedtime routine
