LOL, I do love onions FrenchFly, and plan to eat them, but I don't think that I can get through 10 pounds in one sitting.
I'm glad that the boys had a good time today, and that your dh got a quiet day to work on his priorities. Hopefully, he can entertain the dkids at least part of tomorrow or work on house stuff.

I'm glad that you got some time in the garden, Kittykatt. Enjoy the party!

That is an excellent way to turn errands into a nice break, L.Ann. Coffee AND a book! Just as good as dinner and a show, LOL.

Woo hoo on getting the birdfeeder up and working, helia. You'll have fun with that.
helia wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 9:55 am Getting here later - because I lay in bed and worked on a puzzle for a while.
I'm guessing that is not the puzzle that you showed us the other day, helia!

Enjoy your soak, Lauralind, and your day off.

Saturday
Filled the onion bin. That took care of about half of the onions.
Looked up how to store the rest of the onions. There is nowhere in the apartment that meets the onions’ demands. The cool part of the apartment is right by the patio door, but they want to be out of the light. The bathroom is moist and it and the closet does not have good air flow.
Opened an empty laundry bag to catch the onion skins and hung the onions from the laundry cart. I’ll have to make other arrangements while I do laundry.
Checked emails. The delivery date is tomorrow, but the tracking shows that it is on the truck out for delivery today. Will start watching for it.
Spiffed self
Tried to give Germane breakfast. The turkey and potato food and the salmon food that were a delight yesterday are a disappointment this morning.
Made breakfast.
Germane graciously accepts green beans from my rice bowl, but can smell that I have chicken in there.
Bagged up kitchen and bathroom garbages. Saw that the bathtub has not drained.
Got a new box of garbage bags from the back of the cupboard
Germane is suddenly wide, wide awake and there will be no sneaking out of the apartment to look for the delivery without her.
Cleaned up after Germane.
Put the last of the venison and sweet potato dog food in her bowl. Germane rejected it, but ate the other two. I’ll take the win.
Took Germane out for a walk. She walked all the way, and further than we have been going. She found a very interesting smell, so the walk was a success.
Checked for parcels on the main floor on the way back: none so far
Cleaned her paws and stomach
Gave her treats

Clouds here are producing snow flurries. ❄️

LOL Doggedly! No, this is my book of sudoku puzzles--very difficult jigsaw sudoku puzzles. The current one is not going very fast. Sounds like you have a lot of onions. We just store ours in a bin in our fridge - but we buy small amounts and go through them pretty quickly.
What kind of bread are you baking, L Ann?
Sounds like a very pleasant day, FFB.

Still no qt done, but I have run the dw, s2sed + self care, made the bed, and tidied the cedar chest. I'm going to work on paperwork type stuff for an hour or so: QT, payroll spreadsheet, and email to German family.

Next:
- some qt
- back exercises
- s2s and self care

TaDas!
- up; weighed self -- up, but probably restaurant food last night
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website
- write out short list
- WF for pulled pork stuff
- oven prepped
- pork prepped and in the oven
- kitchen cleaned up
- dw running
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- squeegeed and wiped down shower
- made bed
- cleared cedar chest

Ooo, L.Ann, not only do you have the binders finished, but now you are using them. Goal achieved!

Jigsaw sudoku sounds hard!
Yeah, for the onions, the 10 lb bag was not much more than the 2 lb bag, and I buy 10 lbs of potatoes at a time so it seemed reasonable, LOL. Well, my Tupperware potato bin holds 10 lbs of potatoes, but their onion bin only holds 5 lbs. So we are living with some inconvenient onions for now, but I'll bet that the excess will be gone by the end of the winter.

I am diving into some reorganizing: the entertainment centre and my desk. So far, the upper surfaces are looking good, but only because I have clutter stacked in the back of the dog's pen to go through, LOL.

Bagged up kitchen and bathroom garbages. Saw that the bathtub has not drained.

Gave her treats
Went on to Best Buy’s web site to check my order status
Pulled up the strainer in the bathtub
Made sandwich for lunch
Did tour of main floor looking for the parcel
Shook out grocery bag that had held the onions and put it away
Rotated the plants
Watered Pinky And The Brain
Changed mouse settings to give it a tail
Papered the back of Germane’s pen
Cleared everything not connected by wires off of the top of the entertainment centre
Went to get the duster, saw the coffee pot, tried to put the entire coffee pot in the microwave absentmindedly, physics said “No.”
Poured a cup of coffee into a measuring cup and put it in the microwave. Physics permitted.
Dusted the TV, VHS player, etc.
Moved everything to the far right
Brought the standing desk to the entertainment centre and set it up with TV and everything connected to it
Cleared off the computer desk top level
Set up monitor stand

Dogged I'm thinking those are cooking onions? (sorry, I did quite catch up on all posts...)
I would chop/slice them and freeze them in bags... or as much of them as possible.

Just back after an outing with DD:) I can't say no to her...
Got ointment for pup as the drops were a hit and miss adventure.
Took her for a very good walk inside a big store.
Did my workout with DDIL:)
It's rainy and gloomy out.

Back to laundry in hope that I get some done...

Ah, that would be good strategy, kitkat. Unfortunately, I have an apartment-sized fridge with a freezer section at the top--and it is stuffed to the gills. When I'm finished playing around with moving stuff around the apartment, I will start filling slow cookers with onions and their friends.
If you are able to tune into CBC-1, they have Bob Rae on answering questions about diplomacy.

It's good to know when there is room in the freezer that that is an option, L.Ann. :)
