Bama, I don't eat breakfast. I know - that's not good. I've never been a big breakfast eater. I just have a big mug of coffee with a little milk and 1/2 tsp of sugar. Then,a mug of breakfast tea, also with a little milk and 1/2 tsp. sugar. Occasionally, I'll have a banana if I'm hungry. I do eat an early lunch, around 11:30 -- but today I went to the gym and so lunch was later, around 1:20 pm.
Hi Peaches!
That sounds like an intense book, L Ann.
Glad Germane is eating well for you, Doggedly!
Ooh, enjoy the chili cook off, Gma! Sounds yummy and fun!
Good for you getting out for a walk ahead of the lowering temps, kitkat. We're currently getting snow. Are you?
Hi Lauralind. Hoping you truly do get some down time today.

The outing to the gym took about 2.5 hours. I wasn't exercising all that time; I also chatted with dd30, transitioned from locker room to track to locker room to pool to locker room, s2sed, etc. I do feel tired now. I've had lunch and I need to keep going with the day since it is now 2:30 pm.

Next:
- finish putting stuff away from gym trip
- some qt
- pay snail mail bills

Later:
- pay snail mail bills 1 2 3
- make guest beds 1 2 3
- bank trip
- email ML
- write 1 hour
- payroll: email reply to LH
- 3:20 payroll: phone call with director
- declutter mom's knick knacks?
- other decluttering?
- dinner: lentil soup, rice, roasted butternut squash
- after dinner clean up
- bins back to the house
- update health apps: WW, MFP, Finch
- duolingo
- read for fun
- restart knitting project?

TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website
- back exercises
- dress to jog
- reclaimed kitchen
- made the bed
- gathered stuff for showering and swimming
- squeegeed and wiped shower -- bc dh didn't do it
- gym: jogged on the track
- gym: swam 4 laps
- gym: chatted with dd30 in warm pool and then in hot tub
- gym: s2sed and self care
- home; lunch

Hi, Peaches

LOL, helia, your lunch is at the same time as my breakfast.

I had turned the soup stock down to warm while I added the vegetables, and now it's back up to low. It is smelling very chickeny.
Oh, this is nice. We got an email from our building that we're expecting 15-25 cm of snow, and they will do the detailed cleaning of parking spots Friday morning. So Friday morning would be an excellent time to go to the pharmacy and wait for a vaccination.

You are powering through those To Dos, Gma. You too, Bama. WTG!

I'm going to take a break next. Even though I've got this sense of urgency, need to do everything first, I'm telling myself that I have earned a break and that whatever doesn't get done today can be done tomorrow.

Wednesday
Breakfast for Germane
Started a new container of dog food
Fresh water for dog
Took a pill
CUOP
Downloaded the first pdfs for course and started going through them
Prepped vegetables and added them to slow cooker
Opened budgeting sheet. It is missing the entire page that I set up for 2026.
Dug through files on computer and One Drive to find the version with my updates. Found it! Yay!
Worked out how much is available this week for weekly goals
Cleaned up after dog
Put on a pot of coffee
Swapped out kitchen cloths
Prepped vegetables for soup. Yay! Finished the potatoes in the potato bin so I can wash it and put in the new bag of potatoes
Finished the package of fresh mushrooms
Put in a cup of soup legumes
Cleaned up after dog
Treat for dog

I see your posts, Ladies, but I have no time to reply individually... Got back late (seems to be the pattern right now, but hopefully, starting next week DH will be OK to drive...)
Apparently, crazy weather is coming our way: they are discussing school closures...

I'm going to head out one more time for groceries - in case we can't drive tomorrow.
Just finishing a cup of coffee, flip laundry and off I go.

Dpup is exhausted: she came with me for DH's drop off, gas station, pet store (she was allowed in), Humane Society drop off (YAY), quick stop at grocery store, DH pick up and bank (inside). She is fast asleep on her bed.
I'm always conscious of my age, limitations... Try to make sure she is not missing out:)

Dogged - I'm not experimenting much any more with my cooking:) I have a few "go-to" recipes and I aim for simple and quick.
A cabbage is a wonderful thing in my books. It "keeps on giving": from the obvious Coleslaw, to things like Colcannon (sp?), sauteed with onions and garlic as a side or added to linguine or other pasta...

It is snowing quite a bit. I'm going to punt on the bank errand. It's not worth it.

Next:
- start a load of towels
- a little writing
- start the lentils

More TaDas:
- some qt
- payroll: phone call with director
- paid snail mail bills

That's a good idea to bring your dpup for your errands when you can, kitkat. Momentum and Dreadnaught loved going to stores. Germane is past the age where she would enjoy it, but when she was younger she loved a walk around Canadian Tire. I'm sure that your outing offered your dpup lots of interesting smells and nice people to meet.

You are wise, helia. If the snow has already started and you don't have to be out in it, that leaves more roadspace for the people who don't have a choice to slide around.

It looks perfectly clear outside to me, but VentuSky says that it is snowing all around me. I expect I'll see it soon.

I'm noticing a pattern where I start to stress myself out about not being able to do everything first, in the sunny part of the afternoon. Once the sun goes down, all of that evaporates. All of those deadlines disappear (I should drive there early enough to be back before rush hour, Germane would rather walk in the sunshine than in the dark, I should do laundry before other people make it home, etc. etc.) Now that I know that I'm in this pattern, I have to figure out how to bust out of it.

Awareness is an important first step, Doggedly. The days will slowly get longer - but that won't help you much in the immediate future. I've found it hard too to get motivated when it's dark outside so early. It's like my body says the day is over - when it really isn't.
I see all those giant checkmarks, Bama! WTG!

OK, I have. .
- switched out towels in all our bathrooms + kitchen
- started a load of towels/ cloths
- reacquainted myself with writing
- printed out the recipe for the lentil soup
