Something is falling... not sure if it's snow or tiny ice pellets... It got really cold out there.
I'm guessing Helia, Dogged and I will share the weather for a little while... Pulled up the wipers, put down salt on walkway - the rest will have to wait..
LAnn when I see FACE - I'm always thinking you are doing some sort of self care:) (then I remember)

Off to rest so I can take advantage of Snow Day tomorrow.

Have a good night everyone.

I have washed my hair and found my second wind, and OMG now I understand why people love chicken soup. It's so chickeny and umami, and all my vegetables are there greeting me in big, cheery pieces. I'm glad that it came out well, because I have a big slow cooker full of it.

Things to work on tonight:
Work on going through the boxes from the top shelf of the entertainment centre.
Wash dishes/kitchen cleanup
Sort the dirty laundry to do a dark dark load separately tomorrow

helia, you get a LOT done for a person who doesn't feel motivated. ;) WTG on all that you are getting done.

WTG, L.Ann, on top of your list!

The weather doesn't seem to have hit here yet, kitkat, but we know that it's coming. LOL@FACE. When I started on these boards, I thought that the ladies going to payroll were actually HR professionals, and I couldn't get over how many of them there were. Have a good night.

Thanks, Bama. I've already figured out what's wrong, so if I feel my stress levels rising, I can remind myself that they go right back down with the sun in a couple of hours.
WTG on all that you got done today.

Bama, I've been writing down my experiences around a court trial that kinda ripped our past church apart about 3 years ago. There are such varying narratives out there, I want to record my own experiences + some facts that I've heard changed in different narratives, including the testimony I gave in court about an incident in which only I and the defendant were present. He says he has no memory of the incident. So people who think they know better than me what happened but weren't even present at the time are nonsensical and a bit frustrating to me. But other facts were tweaked or changed too. . .
Sounds wonderful, Doggedly!
Hope it's not ice, kitkat. Yes, rest!

That sounds like a great way to keep your thoughts straight, helia, and not be influenced by others who know less than you but present as experts.

Wednesday
Breakfast for Germane
Started a new container of dog food
Fresh water for dog
Took a pill
CUOP
Downloaded the first pdfs for course and started going through them
Prepped vegetables and added them to slow cooker
Opened budgeting sheet. It is missing the entire page that I set up for 2026.
Dug through files on computer and One Drive to find the version with my updates. Found it! Yay!
Worked out how much is available this week for weekly goals
Cleaned up after dog
Put on a pot of coffee
Swapped out kitchen cloths
Prepped vegetables for soup. Yay! Finished the potatoes in the potato bin so I can wash it and put in the new bag of potatoes
Finished the package of fresh mushrooms
Put in a cup of soup legumes
Cleaned up after dog
Treat for dog
Showered/washed hair
Quick scrub of tub
Tried to pay bills: banking application not working.
Paid internet with credit card
Did a little more updating of budgeting sheet.
Bagged up two bags of kitchen garbage and brought them to the chute with dog

Doggedly, you look mahvelous. Chicken soup heals the soul. It’s not bad for a cold either.

Helia, that’s a wonderful idea. Write it all down before it fades. I wish I had journaled the past few years, I still don’t believe stuff that happened. It was just too busy to think straight. Glad that’s all behind me now. (Sorry to sound vague, just lots of drama)

I just thought I was done for the day lol. Some other stuff happened so I want to put it all down here. I use this place to catch up in my paper planner. It’s just easier.

WEDNESDAY List:
✔️Gather up all trash
✔️Weigh
Water 💧💧💧💧💧💧
✔️Emails
Bible
✔️Pet chores, dogs got bonus chicken and rice meal
✔️Let bathroom cats out for the day, debating whether or not to leave them out overnight
✔️✔️✔️Spot clean floors
✔️Wfd? stuffed peppers and chicken and rice cooked, trying horseradish potatoes for my “something new” habit - did a taste test, a little tangy, not bad but I wouldn’t want it every day
✔️Dust
✔️Vacuum
✔️Glass
✔️Laundry - wash/dry/put away whites, put away my clothes
✔️Walk dogs - about 20 minutes
Kitchen - ✔️clean out fridge (finished!) plus shredded older chicken for a dog meal, went through condiment bins and dc a lot of different seasonings, ✔️dw loaded and running and unloaded and loaded and running again, sink shiny, ✔️soaking an old glass bleach bottle to see if I can get brown stains out, not sure what dh’s family had in it, maybe oil - cleaned w bottle brush thrice and soaking again, the brown is fading to a lighter brown
✔️Two bags trash taken out and dh took the can to the road
George (need to get flea and tick med)
Take down Christmas decor, pack decorations, pack tree, order storage boxes?
Paper, planner - in progress - pick habits, goals, write out bills in date order due, learn something new, fill in past few days, mail
Read - book club book, Brenda Gantt book (both in progress)
Outside - prune fig and weed around, fertilize (get dh to fetch fertilizer from shed)
Weekly -
Monthly -✔️clean glass, ✔️polish kitchen cabinets
✔️Check on lp order for dd2, email says delayed, no update until January sometime, got an email it has shipped, leaving on list until I receive so I don’t forget
Week 3 bathrooms (catch up wk 2 bedrooms?) ✔️cleaned mirror, frames, window, polished cabinets and storage cabinet
Book boarding for dogs (after tour, possibly Friday)
✔️Messaged dh to request resource guide, he called about it, will pu next time we go to reservation
✔️Messaged dd2 about scholarship opportunity in her major, seems perfect but she would have no place to live so may not work out
✔️Db called re moms estate. I informed him some things are still in limbo so he’s calling attorney tomorrow to see what he needs to do
✔️Order delivered - ear plugs, pants, mini moon pies

That was such a traumatic time for you, helia. I hope that writing can help you.

My Internet is out so I have to use my phone. I got everything done. My breads were a big hit. Several asked for the recipes. I made 1 regular ( got 24 pieces ) and1 gluten free (16 pieces ). All gone! We had a chili cook off for our Wednesday night supper at church, I don't make chili, so made "dilly bread".

Neighbors have been having Internet installed. Same company as I have. I think the installing technician broke my line, or didn't reattach it, as we share the same box at the corner where the lots join.

I have 1 more task tonight, then early bed, as I need to take a friend to the Mayo Clinic tomorrow, 2 hours away. So I have to get up early. Tonight task is repair ski pants for my niece. A challenge, all hand sewing.

Days are like that, Bama. Just when you think that you are done with them, they find more for you to do.

Gma, dilly bread sounds like the perfect companion for chili. I'm not surprised that it was popular.
