I’m baaaack.

Jump in, kitkat, the water is fine.

Kittykatt, lol at Jude being naughty. Yep, I can relate. We humans usually retreat to the bedrooms and the pets claim the main rooms. It’s easier to clean up and we have mostly fur-less bedrooms to keep up, a lot easier than if they had free rein. All doors remain shut with no animals allowed with some small exceptions. Lily is special needs so stays in the main bedroom and is allowed out but nobody else is allowed in, and I do let the dogs in my room, they don’t get into things plus it keeps them from getting into garbage or eating poo when I’m not around. :P
I hope church was spirit renewing for you.

Helia, you’ve reminded me I bought some tea to try and stuck it in the pantry. I need to put it out on the counter so I will try it. I’ve been wanting lettuce wraps, hope your recipe is delicious.

LAnn, sounds like you’re heading out tonight. Hope the theater is enjoyable.

Trissie, what a way to leave the room, with a little information I wasn’t aware of and trying to send me down a rabbit trail.

Dailies are done
Floors cleaned
Pet chores done
Made refill of odoban
Dusted
Kitchen - dw unloaded
Found old frozen biscuits in freezer so baked some, they didn’t rise as well as fresh but still good, a little crispy crust which I like
Made biscuits and sausage for breakfast w coffee
Cable not working so messaged dh, no response as he’s working so went ahead and paid it
Dh called and said he had already paid so I guess we are caught up for several months now
Watched the news, looks like a cyclone is going to hit the northeast, yall stay safe!
Now going through a grocery bag of papers, looks like it’s junk mail and bills (paid but not logged in journal from 2024 so tossing, I don’t need them now)
Water 💧💧💧💧

Glad you had a good one at church today, kittykatt!
did you get the results of the mammo right away, helia? Good results from a screening like that always make for a good day!
L.Ann, I think we are beating you the snowfall!

Never got here yesterday. Had a horrendous I-don't-want-to-deal-with-this-s**t-anymore kind of work day that ended in me fighting very hard to not cry on the subway on the way home and basically being ready to call it quits today. I talked with DH for a long time about what to do (the problem concerns a professional disagreement turning into something personal for a male colleague who had amped it into a War of the Roses - as in the movie, not the historical event - situation, only I just refuse to participate and the more I ignored it the worse he tried to the point where I was ready to ask him to negotiate my severance package with HR if what he was after was me being gone) and he suggested some strategies of dealing with stubborn males and due to some other things happening (and probably one other person giving him a Talk), we kinda talked it out. But the whole situation made me realize some uncomfortable truths that I will have to somehow process.
Female work relationships can be hard, but a brittle male ego is something too!

So glad I get to work from home tomorrow. The kids have a day off for midterms, so it will not be my quiet at home Friday, but at least I will be far from the office drama!

TaDas
- morning madness
- day at work (survived. huge achievement)!
- pick up DBD
- grocery run

ToDos
- morning routine
- put away groceries
- start dinner

Oh trissie, I'm so sorry about the male colleague with the fragile ego and the difficulties he's causing you. Do you work with him very much? Sounds like your dh was helpful. :) Nice you get a break from the drama tomorrow! I'll get the mammogram results in a couple days. An MD needs to look at the pics.
What kind of tea, Bama? I hope you get to enjoy it!
WTG on the pantry cleaning, kitkat.

I've just had lunch and need to get back at it. Even my new schedule for the day isn't really accurate. Oh, well. I'm staying busy.

Roasted sesame seeds are way past their best by date, which I think is 2021 - hard to read. I'm thinking I should go get some new ones before dinner. Regretting that I didn't check the bottle until after I made the grocery order.

Main Goals for Today:
1. NY Cards progress
2. Writing 30+ minutes
3. payroll: draft of AIR Exam ready for review
4. 2-3 Work out with AS
5. What's for dinner? Something lo-cal. . .
6. Remake 1+ guest bed
7. Make, eat, and clean up dinner: lettuce chicken wraps, green beans, rice?

Next:
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- payroll: finish sending out exams for review

Later:
- make the bed
- fold and p/a darks (a few)
- payroll: send out exam drafts for review - wip
- payroll: finish AIR Exam draft
- NY cards progress 10+ more
- Writing time: 30+ minutes
- 4:30 - 5:30 work out with AS
- remake 1+ guest beds
- quick WF run for sesame seeds
- maybe, go for a walk; it's cold but getting outside would be good
- refill bird feeder
- bring in fire wood
- dinner: lettuce chicken wraps, green beans, maybe rice?? (dh always likes rice)
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps
- read for fun
- knitting?

TaDas

- coffee
- email deletions + weather website 9F now; expected to get up to 15F
- payroll: messages re: 1 S who wants to take the exit test at a different time
- tried to figure out health system message to my mom; couldn't get in - figuring they have finally recorded that she's deceased and inactivated her account?

(((Trissie))), I couldn’t deal with work personalities, the biggest one reason why I don’t work outside the home. I couldn’t leave it at work and it messed with my personal life. I just wanted to do my job in the nicest way possible and some people aren’t happy no matter what.

Helia, it’s the Tazo brand, 2 different types, but I can’t remember which ones I got.

Just scrolling online instead of doing what I need to be doing. 😬 And now I need to charge my phone lol.

Water 💧💧💧💧
Tossed some Christmas snacks that haven’t been eaten
Combined all hard mints that didn’t get eaten into one container (lifesavers individually wrapped, butterscotch, soft peppermints)
Scrolling paid off. Got a notification on an order I had forgotten about and it is arriving today. I’m excited. It’s some snowball branches that I am using to decorate for spring. I am sort of skipping decorating for Valentines and heading straight to spring and some Easter bunnies. I do have some hearts on the mantle.
Logged meals, weight, water
Changed Scentsy

helia, unfortunately, this is my closest co-worker and up until now, we had a "work husband/work wife" type of relationship and we even sit next to each other. So it has all the qualities of big ugly break-up (which is, as DH explained to me, why he takes me disagreeing with him on professional issue so personally - I betrayed him by not backing him up! which is total bullshit because we are both senior managers with different roles and different points of view which are both valid, even if not compatible). But trust was broken in this relationship and we shall see how it can go forward.
Bama, I've met some wonderful people - even bosses - through work! And I can say I learned from the best. My very first boss, in a law firm, taught me how to keep order in huge amounts of documentation both electronic and physical. Still benefit from that! My second boss, he hired a total greenhorn but saw potential in me and let me grow, never micromanaged me but always kept his door open when I needed a final decision/backing on something. My third boss, she showed me how a true boss works - she would scream at us behind closed doors if we messed up, but took all responsibility when dealing with the higher ups, shielding us from that. My fourth boss was a friend first (she was promoted while I was on maternity leave) and still is and I really hope I will get to work with/for her again. It went downhill from there, but because of these people, I know it can be work.
kitkat, I am lucky that my DH is a stubborn male so he can offer me the right perspective. And he listens to me ranting and supports me no matter what! Of course, it's what we do for each other and what we've always done! :-)
L.Ann, it must be something when it's teachers! I mean, I don't know about US teachers, but around here, being a teacher is considered pretty much a diagnosis and living with a teacher is not for everybody, so if you get several teachers treating everybody else the same way they are used to treat their (young) students, oh boy! :-)
