Thanks for starting us off, trissie, and for the timely reminder that successful is not a synonym for good.
And speaking of not good, I am so sorry for what you are going through at work. It sounds like your male coworker is creating a hostile workplace and those situations are so difficult to maneuver through.
Kittykatt, I hope that all goes well with church and with the painting. --oh, I see that you are back and had an enjoyable lunch. And a very clever cat, who shall not be ignored.
Hi, helia. Do you think that you will do some relaxing in the cancelled ESL class time slot?
That rescheduled appointment will make supper prep trickier.
We are back in the chill now, L.Ann, but we have a forecast for a nice weekend here.
Bama, we are with you in spirit as you valiantly face the cat mess!
Keeping pets out of certain areas is a sanity saver when you have multiple animals. When I had rabbits, they were always restricted to the main floor except my bedroom. Once I got the dachshund Dreadnaught, he decided that they were restricted to the living room area of the open area house and there was no convincing him otherwise, so he became the official Bunnyherd. That was actually helpful for keeping things in order.
Hi, kitkat. Good luck finding homes for the containers.
I join you in Looks Like A Cyclone Went Through, L.Ann. I keep admiring the top of the entertainment centre when I watch TV, because it is finally cleared off. Now I want to clear off the second shelf, though there are other areas in greater need.
Today's main goal is Errands Day. It's Seniors Day at the pet food store, so I'll stock up on what seems to be Germane's favourite food. In the same centre is a clothing store where I want to make returns. The open question is whether I'll drive over to the shopping street where I can deposit my OAS cheque. If I remember correctly, the bank in the big box centre where I'm going doesn't allow deposits. I'll see how I feel. It's going to warm up on the weekend, and I have enough in the chequing account to cover the rent so there's no emergency.
Thursday
Breakfast for dog
Cleaned up after dog
Put on a pot of coffee
I was going to have an open face breakfast sandwich with the bread that I made last night, but Germane campaigned so determinedly for treats while ignoring her dog food that I had rice and vegetables so that I could give her vegetables from my bowl.

Kitkat, I’m in the same situation with the pantry. It’s a mess! It will get done bit by bit.
LAnn, I couldn’t be a teacher, early childhood education was my major for a quick minute but that didn’t last. I can relate on the non pet mess too, we are “hoarders” bc of the past few years circumstances and I couldn’t keep it under control but even before that I realized I married a hoarder personality. He won’t throw away crooked nails bc he can straighten them out. Will he? No. But he could!
I’m discretely getting my house in order while he’s not looking. Nothing of value but all the little things that add up.
Have fun at your show! I love broadway songs.
(((Trissie))), hope he gets more reasonable and less emotional. It’s hard when there is a friendship bond on top of a work relationship. I’m not knocking all jobs. My first ones were a lot of fun, thanks somewhat to good bosses. Then it all went downhill. One reason was the first ones had more employees so easier to ignore anything that got to me plus having someone to talk the goings on helped. The last few were small offices and 3-4 women working together. It only takes one to mess that up.
Thank you for your support, Dogged. I know you know what it’s like in the trenches. My dogs ignore the cats but our youngest cat is scary and the others will run from her. I use her skill to help when I’m trying to catch someone that doesn’t want to be caught lol. She’s my wrangler.
Clearing one small area is a good motivator to keep going! I love looking at the organized top shelf in my freezer so much that every time I walk by I will move one thing. It’s too cold right now to spend a long time moving stuff around.
Hope you get a lot of good deals today!
Hi Peaches.
Dailies are done
Floors cleaned
Pet chores done
Made refill of odoban concentrate
Dusted
Kitchen - dw unloaded
Found old frozen biscuits in freezer so baked some, they didn’t rise as well as fresh but still good, a little crispy crust which I like
Made biscuits and sausage for breakfast w coffee
Cable not working so messaged dh, no response as he’s working so went ahead and paid it
Dh called and said he had already paid so I guess we are caught up for several months now
Watched the news, looks like a cyclone is going to hit the northeast, yall stay safe!
Now going through a grocery bag of papers, looks like it’s junk mail and bills (paid but not logged in journal from 2024 so tossing, I don’t need them now)
Water

Tossed some Christmas snacks that haven’t been eaten
Combined all hard mints that didn’t get eaten into one container (lifesavers individually wrapped, butterscotch, soft peppermints)
Scrolling paid off. Got a notification on an order I had forgotten about and it is arriving today. I’m excited. It’s some snowball branches that I am using to decorate for spring. I am sort of skipping decorating for Valentines and heading straight to spring and some Easter bunnies. I do have some hearts on the mantle.
Logged meals, weight, water
Changed Scentsy
Fed all outside animals
Walked dogs
Played ball with Beau
Eating popcorn since nothing sounded good for lunch
I have no clue what’s for dinner
maybe a grilled cheese to use up the bread
Back to my paper bag (bag full of paper)

Re: Alexander Tikhonov Thursday @ TDD - C&C
Hello, everyone!
Trissie, I am so sorry about the problems at work. It's especially different when it involves someone who you trusted and believed you had a good working relationship with.
Bama, as all three kitties get on well with each in other, they're allowed in the whole of the house, although I do remove them from the kitchen for safety if there's hot fat or boiling water around, and, as happened today, DH shuts them out of the spare room if he has an important phone call . When DDeparted Trifle was still with us, she had exclusive use of our bedroom, as she hated the other kitties. When I came back from the vet after that last appointment , Jude responded by rolling around on the bed in ecstasy. Curiously, no one will use the warm fleecy blankets that Trifle loved, even though it's been nearly three years, and they've been washed several times. I'm probably going to do a little paint job tomorrow, so I'll put the Girls in the bedroom for their own safety while that's going on. Freddie will just do his own thing.
I do remember the days when Freddie was a kitten - puddles (and worse!) behind the TV, and he did climb the curtains more than once!
Germane definitely knows what she wants, Dogged!
Cheering you on with the pantry, KitKat!
Helia, when I cleared out the kitchen cupboards, I came across half a small packet of almonds with a "best before" date of 2014!!!
I had enjoyed an handful a couple of months ago when I was blissfully unaware of their seriously-out-of-date status, but decided not to chance it again!
Enjoy the theatre, L.Ann!
Hi, Peaches!
I've decluttered the kitchen noticeboard and mended the little hole in my blouse. Waitrose have delivered and the groceries are PA. Everyone has been fed, DH is now snoring and Jude is on my lap.

Wtg in all of your achievements, kittykatt!
My cats all get along, eat together, nap together, but there’s always one with a fur ball or decides the litter box is too full or with Tux, he will get in the box to pee but not poo, so I get a daily surprise I have to find, it’s usually in the foyer but he will change spots sometimes. I’ve stepped in more surprises than I care for. Dh has too and he gets so impatient that it’s easier this way. We have a mix of males and females which might be a part of the problem too. Idk. They’re all sterile so at least that’s not a worry.

Emptied my paper bag (bag full of paper) and found all sorts of surprises, unpaid bills (that got caught up the next month so no worry), tax papers that thankfully weren’t a problem, an unopened invite from hospice to a celebration of life in October 2024 (oops), magazines, catalogs, moms trailer insurance which I guess got cancelled so I need to talk to dh about - renew or let the girls figure it out, planner stickers, …
Watching The American Revolution with Ken Burns, this episode is about the different countries and Native tribes all wanting the land.
My next bag of papers to go through looks like it is mom’s funeral and that time frame (spring 2023)
Working on planner too

Hi all. Busy day here. Wow that work drama sounds hard trissie.
Bama I am about to evict someone furry too tho I can't
. They are constantly making messes now it's winter and they are less liking the outdoors. I got a whole collection of info from the vet that I still have to read. And pheromone refill.. and the one I was concerned about is perfectly healthy just queen of the bunch and onery at that... stressful.
It's super quiet at work now . Most of the store is ready for garden season and we're making work atm. I tackled housewares a little today. Kept busy mostly. Not sure about the rest. Im tired now . Ready for a nap... need supper... and fix my row again. My blanket is still three or 4 rows ahead and then one row that I have to repeat a few times. Almost done the third of 4 balls of yarn. Ohh wait I almost forgot prayer night.... Oops better get on supper.

Re: Alexander Tikhonov Thursday @ TDD - C&C
Home again home again jiggety jig. I ended up having to gas up the car, so I went ahead and deposited my cheque as I was already near the bank. It was bitter cold out, so I am happy that I have taken care of the Must Dos and can put off going out if I don't feel like it.
Hi, Peaches
Oh, Bama, I can so relate to your DH. I see a use for every cardboard box and every plastic bag. Do I use them? Sometimes. Mostly not.
I am suitably impressed. I've never heard of anyone training a cat to be their shepherd.
Kittykatt, I'm pretty sure that the only thing protecting me from finding food from 2014 is that I only moved into my apartment seven years ago.
Your list is all covered in happy faces. WTG on getting it all done.
I remember those days at Home Depot, Lauralind. Christmas was a lovely leisurely time for us, because if you haven't renovated your bathroom by the end of November, you're not likely to start while you have guests for Christmas. We would watch the nutso cuckoo shenanigans in the Costco parking lot across the street. I had never heard of fistfights over parking spaces until the Costco opened.
Thursday
Breakfast for dog
Cleaned up after dog
Put on a pot of coffee
Breakfast
Spiffed self
Papered Germane’s pen
Settled Germane in pen
Brushed off car
Went to pet food store and stocked up on the food that Germane is most willing to eat
Went to clothing store and returned order that didn’t fit
Went to deli and got a knish for later
Went to Popeyes for corn and possibly rice and beans: they no longer carry either. Skipped Popeyes
Went to the shopping street and gassed up car
Went to bank and deposited OAS cheque
As I was in the centre with my usual shawarma shop, indulged in a chicken shawarma
Home to release my long suffering dog

Haha yeah doggedly... some people. Closest w get to that is an almost full lot and someone parks lengthwise with a trailer. Or beside the building so the rest can't back up easy. Or I seen one so close the other one couldn't open her door till they left. Small town crazy stuff. I suppose home depot doesn't have much Christmas. January and February can be really slow between seasons. Except in extreme weather where everyone needs all the heaters and extension cords etc.
Retail is interesting.

Yes, our crazy season was Victoria Day weekend. That is the safe date to plant in our area and because it's a long weekend, everyone does.
I'm glad that I didn't post another set of goals because I haven't accomplished any. And after all of this lallygagging, I'm just going to clean up after Germane, give her some more food, and head to bed. Good night!
