Lady M, what a wonderful you g man you and your community have raised! Over here, once you're 18 and legally an adult, and you are legally able to attend doctor's appointments on your own (I think you can go on your own before then in some cases) you can still request someone to accompany you to doctor 's appointments to act as chaperone/support/. advocate..Not sure if that's the same where you are, but DS might feel he would like a little support in handling doctors to begin with, especially after this experience! (BTW, when one ever had to take any form.of medical test or assessment, the room has been quiet and the doctor has always calmly discussed what I needed to do. We moved methodically from one task to another. Certainly no rushing or confusion!)
