[Twins' Mom]

How very neat, Costumelady! We like Broadway shows - when we go to NYC once a year, or the traveling shows that come here.

I went out and ran my errands. Gas in the car, washed the car, picked up dog meds, went to post office for HOA, CVS (Mucinex, allergy season is here) and drove through a neighboring area because the HOA got a notice of a zoning variance hearing. That particular property is a long way from us so I don't think I even need to send it to the board.

Got home and washing machine had an error message. Dh no help, he suggested just restarting it instead of going through the troubleshooting steps, so I did. Will see what happens. Dh went to Costco while I was out and is very chatty now and I'm just feeling stressed. Washer, wanting to get upstairs, dog wanting me too.

I just finished eating my omelet finally. I'm taking my fruit upstairs to finish.

hello - mom is asleep now and the helper went to a wake. yesterday I slept all day
just a quick wave - heading out to garage
emptied boxes and did some clean up - mom is up already.
filled up moms shelves for her boost. high calorie.

mom is wide awake - so I will get her up and see if what we can do together.
I played with dogs outside and now there are mud pieces through the first floor.
builder stopped by to make some things clear. it's nice because I am hearing what is happening before things are done.
originally we thought that there would be wood on ceiling - no very expensive. its a short vaulted ceiling.
another thing - I thought the beam would be stained. no - bc we have a ceiling fan and light they can't have the beam clear.i was surprised. I wish I would have seen the drawings before okaying the fan.

I had lunch outside.
I've vacuumed the living room.

Glad for the sunshine and near 60* degree high temp. for today.
Cleaned up after ddoggo in the back yard.

Main bathroom got a swish n swipe.
I vacuumed my bed room as well.
Plus got the trash out.
That feels great.

I rounded up laundry.
I'll work on it tomorrow as well.
Someone is grilling and it smells fabulous!
Did up the dishes!

I took a quick peek at the sky and it's a full moon.

Mopping awaits might be for Sat. as I don't really want to over do.

can you unplug your washer for ten minutes to see if that helps - that helped us once - lol it happened again and nothing helped. hope it works again.
hope your stress disappears fast! when everyone wants you it is very easy to have stress build!

you sound like me... I was raised catholic, I have gone to methodist, lutheran a lot, presbyterian, evangelical christian, protestant, baptist - community church, non denominational, temple, large Christian church, united church of christ, once to church scientists for dh's aunts funeral. - I wanted dd's to appreciate all religions - I still haven't been to a mosque, or episcopal.

I've cleaned up my stamping desk from last weekend's work, and stamped/played a bit more. Walked the dog with dh a little earlier. I need to get ready for dinner out next. It's been a good afternoon.

lucylee, I have had to take time to PROCESS that you can't get good attendance to a class on that. I would be there with bells on, as you can imagine. And since it will be taught by someone known to have experience as a teacher, too, able to hold attention, organize thoughts - what's not to like? Of course, if it had been announced in my former church's newsletter or on the bulletin board that Harriet was teaching on that subject, all the officers would have needed smelling salts.

Twins', sorry a lead fizzled, but glad you got stamping enjoyment.

((Mystery)), if you are supposed to take a pain pill be sure to get ahead of the pain and get those in, okay? Tea bags to speed healing?

blessed, we had ceiling fans in the other house, but none here and I'm surprised I don't miss them at all. They are attractive, but if you would have rather had the finish you wanted, it's a shame you didn't see the drawings. You know, folks later sand and refinish wood a different way all the time - paint's not forever. (smile) Kind of exciting that you are getting closer to the enjoyment of more space.

Costumelady, the stoles sound so meaningful. You do have a lot of jobs in your house of worship. My late dh and I were extremely active in an almost mission-type church for many years, holding too many positions, really. He was also a representative to denominational ministry. After his death, my children and I went back to my parent's church and I healed there quietly for a long time. After my parent's deaths, I was tapped for leading studies and programming, became treasurer. During those years, the church reverted to old ideas about women that they had previously abandoned by WWII timeframe, so my teaching was stunted, but all the expected work stayed the same. I burned out, plus chose not to keep arguing. I attend virtually now with two church families. When drs give the go-ahead, may start in-person again, but will probably not say "yes" to jobs.

The trip out today was successful. The tax preparer has a new house and we stayed to visit, as she happily pulled us into more and more conversation. She is newly engaged and so excited about that. It was raining but not too bad. She briefly went over what we'll expect this year and it's not going to be surprising. She says dd27 has already contacted her as well, out there adulting. But mostly the time was spent catching up on each other's lives.

Out to eat at probably my favorite Mexican restaurant. We thought about doing more, but the rain didn't make it very optimistic to walk around shopping or even consider a movie, etc.

Back home I put in a load of laundry, drip-drying now.

Another TaDa is completing 2 surveys, one written/mailed and one by phone. The progress of completing those kinds of things is not too easily seen for a household, but I think it does a homemaker good to offer insight and be heard when things don't suit.

After the end of dd27's workday, I tried calling to get a handle on when she might be visiting us this weekend. But she and dsonil were at a banquet with all her coworkers and their spouses - she never tells me anything about her calendar. They were all happily chatting and I couldn't tell whose voice I was hearing as they handed the phone around "to say hi to (dd27)'s Mom" , so as soon as I got to dsonil, I got off the phone quickly.

I didn't' realize until late that I haven't stop to post today. I did enjoy CUOP.

I woke up at 6am'ish feeling fully rested and ready to get started on my day. DD14 woke up with stomach cramps so we postponed going to get her bloodwork done so she could take some meds. The plan was for her to go to DD49 this weekend but for whatever reason she cancelled. I don't ask questions.
I have been doing hourly pathway cards while using the extra time each hour to be outside. There are endless things outside that I can find to occupy my time and interests.
I cooked a full-blown breakfast, made ravioli for lunch and cookies this afternoon so was in the kitchen an hour or so today.
Where does the time go?

DS17 was eager to tell about his work day including his best paycheck ever received. While he was telling me about it, he was also texting with someone that wants him to work this evening and tomorrow. So he was thrilled to be off to his 2nd job. I am encouraging him to take time to get a hair cut and go shopping for some jeans. He is too enthusiastic about working and doesn't want to take time to do that boring stuff.

Cathy - have they mentioned using a wound vac (NPWT) system for your DH? I'm remembering my DSisIL had a wound on her leg that wouldn't heal and ended up in the hospital a couple months. The wound vac enabled them to save her leg and not have amputation.

Harriet -- which class are you talking about? Oh -- are you talking about the class I am teaching? Well, I do have experience as a teacher, but so do the other two ladies, LOL! I guess that's why we get along so well. Plus we are all relatively recent widows. I think all our husbands have passed away since Covid. They are a little older than me, so that may be why I'm a little intimidated, but they act like they enjoy our class. I would love to have you in my class! We are studying "Naomi, The Grieved One" next Wednesday.

I HAVE checked. I have a $20,000 DEDUCTIBLE for wind damage to my roof.
Apparently, dh was determined to have the cheapest premiums possible and I will never get any good out of this insurance unless the house burns to the ground or gets blown away. SMH.
Believe me, once this roof issue is completed, I will be making some changes in this policy. (They won't let me change with the roof issue obviously needing repairs.)

Have a great time, Costumelady! I taught 9th grade English for 30 years, so lots of Romeo and Juliet. I loved it! Surprisingly, though, I have never seen a professional Shakespearean play. I did take a class to see a college production of R&J years and years ago. (This was during a time when I wasn't such a travel phobic, for the rest of y'all.) The only really professional play I have ever seen was Camelot, with Richard Harris, which came to Birmingham, AL. My dmom, dbro, and I went to see that. I loved it, too!
DO NOT go see the new Wuthering Heights if you expect it to be like the book. This one starts Morgot Robbi and a bunch of others I did not recognize. It is just a little far-fetched, I think, especially in Heathcliff's behavior and reaction after Cathy gets married. Kinda sadistic, even. It was a little bit depressing.
DH, DS, and I went to Chicago when DS was about 10. No fancy theaters for us -- we saw the Cubs play and saw the White Sox stadium.

I am working on the positive turn around... and it is difficult. I slept off and on all day and every time I woke up, I felt sick at my stomach.
I am just really scared of spending this kind of money and having buyers' remorse, you know? You can't exchange a ROOF like you can a pair of pants.
Costumelady, I will be 65 in August. DH and I both started drawing our SS at age 62. But we both took all we could from our retirement funds, leaving now survivor's benefits for the other. We reasoned that we each had our own teacher's retirement accounts, and our own SS, so we should get what we could while we could. (Like you said about living to 85 -- who knows if you will live long enough to bargain on that far into the future?) I had the higher salary and the higher SS anyway so now my income has dropped approximately 40% and my 40-year-old house seems to be falling apart. Sigh.
On a positive note here -- dmom told me she could loan me the money until my CD matures in October.

BTW -- I joined the Methodist church about the time DS was born. I grew up Baptist, but dh absolutely did not want to change churches, and I thought it was more important to me that we all attend together. My dad's family was Church of Christ, so I visited there pretty often when I was a child.

The doctor didn't mention that today. He did mention Congestive Heart Failure. (Obesity, Diabetes, Edema, Shortness of breath, etc.)
