WTG on the deep cleaning, FFB. It's very satisfying. Did you find out if the meat was tasty?

Yesterday, I had all of 2 hours at home all day before 9 pm. I used those 2 hours to: unpack, prep for CG1, and write 2 birthday cards - for S2 and B, J's dh. They have birthdays within a couple days of each other.

Today: Dh and I have decided to skip church. Even he is feeling the crunch of a hyper-scheduled weekend after a busy week. With the cancellation of Sunday dinner, that makes our Sunday more palatable, though still not much of a sabbath. We have CG2 this afternoon 3:30 - 6. I need to use this day to catch up on those tasks I didn't do during the busy week and couldn't do yesterday because we were gone all day: laundry, groceries, payroll, a jog. Those are the 4 main ones; if I accomplish those, I'll be happy.

R and S have reported that J12yo got 3rd in 200m breast stroke and another relay team she is on won first place yesterday! She's at a very strong swimming club in our city (also expensive), and it sounds like they currently have a set of young strong female swimmers. More races today.

trissie I forgot to answer your question about the movie. We watched Karate KId (the one with Will Smith's son), after much debate. MrNG wants us to see the older version next week but I need to check if it's kid-safe. This one isn't kid-friendly I think, but we watched it because we had debated too much already... The short list also included Doctor Dolittle (the one with R Downey Jr), Kindergarten cop (with Schwarzenegger) and a French-Senegalese movie with Omar Sy. About earrings and haircuts, you're right, we may face these issues later on

helia glad your Sunday isn't too scheduled after all. The meat seemed to please the kids, and MrNG said it was good.

kitkat I won't sew a vouch cover, I'm going to use a bedsheet, sew (re-sew actually, there was a first try) fabric straps in a few strategic places, and knot the ties around and behind the couch "back". For a dog bed... I'm not sure, but I would consider using a rectangular piece as a "couch throw" on the central part, and maybe sew straps that tie behind, sort of ??
I hope you can enjoy the class.

Served lunch. Everybody ate the turkey blanquette except me. Greans beans and half-whole rice. No dessert, as no one volunteered to bake anything, but we had a lovely cheese to end the meal.
MrNG just left with DS7. DS10 wants to play Minetest (linux version for Minecraft) so I allowed him one hour. I need to finish clearing up the leftover food, clean the kithcne table, then I can use it to sew.

Hello!
I was still up from yesterday when I posted earlier. Weird sleep habit right now, especially since I didn’t do anything to wear myself out yesterday. I’ve had a nice little nap and it’s back to routines today.
I made myself get dressed and start on dailies while dh went to fetch breakfast. He'd rather have something hot than cereal, I suppose. Pet chores and extras are done (for now) and I am watching a church service while I eat. I need to find a good church family but this will do for now.
I thought I had run the dw the other day but went to empty it and nothing is clean so loaded what was in the sink and running it now. Sink is shiny.
Finishing up and heading for a walk before my morning gets away from me. Bbl.

So that's what a small copper looks like! In the Daisy Dalrymple series of books, Daisy's cousin is into butterflies and moths, and when he says something that sounds outrageous to visitors, his family asks "Butterfly or moth?" At one point, it sounded as though he was calling Daisy's husband, the Detective Chief Inspector, a small copper, but we all know what the Earl was really thinking about!

Kittykatt, I remember how I struggled with my first smartphone, taking too long to open the call, accidentally hanging up on people, etc. etc. That is very kind of you to help out your df after church.

Oh, I missed that point, Bama. Good on your DH, Kittykatt, taking care of the litter pans.

trissie, the retail seasons are so weird here that bathing suits appear in January for cruises and snow birds (people who fly south every winter). I keep trying to buy clothes in the season that I need them and finding slim pickings, LOL.

FrenchFly, I have never managed to learn to sew, so I admire those who can. I hope that the couch cover works out.

Did class, picked up dog food... chatted for a bit at the store. Took pup out in back (pouring rain), took out garbage/recycle, started washer. Gave a treat to pup in crate, cleaned the crate:) . Shined the sink.

I need to take my pill, make a coffee, wait for rain to stop so we can walk with my ddog. Cont. laundry. Maybe read for a bit?

Hello, everyone!

Helia, that's good you have a somewhat less scheduled Sunday. Today's lunch menu was roast chicken, roast potatoes, gravy, broccoli, carrots, creamed leeks, followed by apple crumble and cream.

Bama, re litter trays, I scoop and replenish the litter twice daily throughout the week,.so DH's Sunday task isnt that onerous (although I'm still grateful to him!) He was given a choice of other tasks instead (taking Freddie for his appointments, cutting kitty nails etc, and I think he thought scrubbing.out cat trays once a week was preferable! )

Trissie, the menu choices are.for our monthly parish lunch. The place were going to this month has a small kitchen, and they want to make sure they have enough of everything in stock, on case everyone chooses the same thing.. ( This month, 6 people have chosen ham, egg and chips,. So they do have a point! )

KitKat, could you make a type of "duvet cover" for DPup's bed -basically sewing two pieces of fabric together and using press studs to fasten it together?

FFB, you're a very accomplished seamstress, and I admire your vision! Funny story about earings: my DNeighbour's daughter took her DGD 13yo to get her ears pierced. She went to an extremely reputable tattoo parlour, as they have very high standards of hygiene (much better than somewhere like Claire's) as they are regularly inspected. The appointment went well, but when granny went to visit, DGD announced that she had "just been to the tattoo parlour" omitting to say to get her ears pierced!! Granny almost had to be picked up off the floor!

Dogged, I think DF E is at the age where anything new is a struggle. At least she is now happy to use it to make calls, so ske.can communicate .with people once again. Hopefully texting will come as she gets more used to the phone.

Since lunch, Freddie has had his walk, Matilda has had some time on my lap, and I've had a chat with Dnextdoorneighbour C. I'm going to have some time in my garden next.
