Thoroughbred Horse Thursday

I rode the barn horses as a teen since we didn't live in the country or own a horse. The thoroughbred-quarter horse mixes were favored as jumpers.

Nice to see you Harriet. Good luck on the eye appointment.. I went to one on Tuesday, just a check up - it was very boring. I hope yours is too.
L Ann, to answer your earlier question - I'm still reading Happiness Falls. I'm almost done! Of course you've already walked a mile this morning.
Good morning Bama! We have someone else do our taxes too. Ours are complicated too. Hmm.... we have to report interest earned in accounts but not the principal balance.

My scale is slowly creeping up again - after creeping down. It's a good reminder to get back to tracking my food and being mindful. I'm already trying to up the exercise.

Today: I will go in to payroll 11-1 to be present in case teachers need extra support. I have some admin tasks to do while there. 4-5, I have my work out with AS. Dinner tonight will be pasta with homemade tomato and mushroom sauce and roasted broccoli. For the 2nd evening in a row, we have NO dinner guests and NO events to go to!! That feels so luxurious. Tonight, I think we're going to circle back around to our European trip and get more housing sorted out.

Hi, all. Last night I came close to leaving the apartment, I was dressed and had my yarn etc bagged up and ready to go, and then strange things started to happen. Since Germane had been sleeping happily in the bathroom all day, only coming out to eat, I thought that I could slip out and leave her loose in the apartment which she would like better than being put in her pen. She even let me do the three trips for laundry without wanting to come along. But as soon as I was ready to go out for the evening, she was stuck to me like Velcro, and kept positioning herself between me and the door. I went back and papered her pen in preparation, and that's when my guts warned me what I was in for. So, I skipped the Stitch N Bitch at the pub, and spent the evening displacing Germane from her preferred spot. Luckily kitkat stepped in and saved Bama from having to post a SHEM.

Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt. I am quite enjoying experiencing my Thursday, thank you.

Bama, our tax system is slowly moving toward something that makes sense. My bank now provides me with the statement of the interest earned, and there are free software options to fill out and file our taxes. The question is why we have to do it at all. For the majority of us, whose income is from earned wages, the government already has the information and should be doing our taxes for us. We should just need to send in corrections, if we have earned other types of income or are claiming expenses.

Barn horses are still horses, helia. Every little girl's dream to ride them.

That sounds like a case of "It's funny because it's true," Bama. My internet is fine. I was looking at the modem and router of the service that I cancelled yesterday, which is why they were showing that they were offline. I just had to wake up enough to remember that.

Germane is happy this afternoon. I cooked a big piece of basa for her, and we've both been snacking on it. It's the Thursday that she has been waiting to experience. I'm taking a nice easy day, not for any reason but just because I feel like it. That said, I don't remember ordering a fire alarm, but it went away when I ignored it for long enough. Then my KVM switch started acting up, and when I replaced it I lost the audio from my laptop. That took some extra fiddling, but I got audio back before I had to set up a drop shelf and external speakers.
