Thanks for the start trissie. I must admit, that I enjoyed the horses, butterflies, etc. a bit more than the battles...
Kittykatt - that is quite a morning you had.... I am concerned that that bit wound is not fully healed in a month...
Wish Freddie a smooth dentistry and recovery.

I did not get back here after I cleaned the wicker loveseat on the porch. We just sat for a while with DH and dpup.

We have a drizzle right now, quite pleasant and mild. Had showers overnight. Hope it helps my grass... although nothing helps "those" spots.

I will deal with the main floor - we get ready for Friday's dinner

The head vet nurse has just rung again with a meds query for Freddie (just checking why he doesn't have metacam - we don't want to risk it with his IBD. He can have gabapentin, bruprenorphine or possibly Onsior -I've left it up to them) Apparently he's had some teeth out already, and the vet is just about to extract some more.

So, my hunch was unfortunately correct. Fred will be fine with fewer teeth and.will.adapt quickly, but will need soft.food.for.a few days!

Good morning, KitKat! How nice to be able to sit outside! My hunch about the bite is that there some extra different bacteria (possibly from Fred's infected teeth - I'll know more when I pick him up later), so it possibly needs a more specific antibiotic for whatever bacteria you get in bad teeth? (I'm presuming they can test for this and then pick the specific antibiotic required? I can't have penicillin, which complicates things). It's never happened before, and Fred's teeth is the only different thing this time.

Bama, I nearly forgot. My proprioception exercises are to stand with one foot directly.behind the other (make sure you have something.like a.counter top to grab if necessary) and after a minute or so change feet so the other foot is now at the front. When you can do that easily, attempt again,.but with your eyes closed! (It makes a change from the standing on one leg exercise!)

Sorry, love, but this is the week when you will be force-fed historical facts! but I promise to add litle something of interest - I actually found the SAS Rogue Heroes by trying to google "that funny video which explained the difference between imperial and metric units" (no, it wasn't that one), and completely fell in love with the British humor and then realized it was available online and then made DH watch it with me and now we're both totally in the SAS units history and are trying to find a way to get the kids to visit the Colditz Castle with us because we want to explore the escape routes from the famous Oflag IV-C POW camp kittykatt may be interested in the fact that Oflag IV-C was where two first cousins of Elizabeth II and Winston Churchill's nephew were held. And also Sir Douglas Robert Steuart Bader, my favourite RAF pilot who had zero legs but double the courage and had to be transferred to the highest security prison because he kept escaping!

Fred is getting such good care from you, Kitty. Ugh - that was quite the morning for you. I hope your body regulates and you feel better today. Also concerning about the bite.--I tried that exercise, and I don't do well with my eyes closed.

We had a thunderstorm pass through early this morning - lots of thunder and lightning but no rain. It looks like we're expected to get rain this afternoon. It is currently 65*F with a high of 70F forecast! But the high tomorrow is only 45F. It looks like our temperatures are going to be bouncing around all over the place for a while.

Yesterday ended up being completely different from what I had planned, and I never got back here. I had to LOL at everyone's enthusiasm for tacos because in the end, I did not eat tacos for dinner. I think we'll do that tomorrow night. I did payroll until 2:15 pm. After the instructor meeting (1-1:40), I stayed in the conference room with AC and typed up the highlights for the announcements. Then, AC wanted to go get coffee with me, so we went off to try a new Yemeni coffee shop. We were back around 3 pm. I still hadn't eaten lunch. In the meantime, dd30 had invited me to go to the dog park with her and Fable at 3:30/4. So, I went home and ate a little something and left the house again around 3:45 to go to the dog park - which was A LOT of fun! It is a huge area. Dogs were in their element - running, chasing, fetching, greeting people and each other. Fable was THAT dog, the only dog to roll around in the mud puddles. LOL! She continued running around the park with one side completely gray as the mud dried. We noticed the other owners avoided her a bit, trying not to become muddy. I did have to change my jeans when I got home -- of course! I got home around 5:20, had a quick bite of soup to eat, and then was out the door a tad late at 5:45 for the church plant BS 6 - 7:30. After the Bible study, I dropped an older couple off at their home and was home myself around 8:15pm. No time to jog or do much else - but it was a fun day!

Today, there is no KS2J get together as it is spring break. J is out of town and K has just returned. I have 2 payroll interviews (placement tests) at 1 pm and at 4:40 pm. We're hosting AA and her friend M for dinner tonight, and I still need to get groceries for that. Since I didn't jog yesterday, I'd like to do that today - asap before the rain comes. I might go rescue Fable in the middle of the day; dh and I need to work that out. Dd30 has asked us to let her out of her crate once around noon because she'll be out at work for 8+ hours. Also, laundry (lights) would be good and perhaps getting clean sheets on the MBR bed. AND refill the bird feeder because the birds have eaten it all again.

Thanks for the start, trissie, and I love the video. Miles, kilometers, same thing lol. You do know the most interesting facts, a pilot with no legs in a maximum security prison, oh my gosh. The things I still need to learn!

(((Kittykatt and Freddie, plus lonely Matilda and Jude))), hope all goes (went) well. I dread using cat carriers now that everyone knows what they are and prepare for battle when they see one.

helia, the Australians corps were very important in WW2 - just like the Canadians, when they were called upon, they came! I looked into it an apparently the last Australia "Rat of Tobruk" died at 102 in August 2024, and was a great source of historically valuable information. What a day you've had yesterday, but hopefully today will be slower?
Bama, the story of the leg-less pilot is a gret one! He was actually one of the oldest RAF pilot - back then, before G-suits, blacking out during hard accelarition due to blood getting "squeezed" into legs, was very dangerous and very common, and younger pilots were more suited to compensate for that. But Douglas Bader, who lost his legs in a air crash at 21, faced no such danger - no legs in place for the blood to go to! So at the "old age" of 29, he was able to withstand the G-force better than his younger and legged colleagues. And it's not like you needed legs to pilot a Spitfire! He made it safely through the war and was a big advocate for the disabled folks.

Finally home from work. It's sleepy weather - raining on and off, but somehow I managed to stay awake enough to actually make it through the day! I really need to go to bed earlier today, though. Tomorrow is my last day in office this week, as I have to drive DS and DBD to the meeting point of their scout 4-day Easter trip in the morning. In theory, I could go back to office, but my co-worker is currently not my favourite person in the world (I am les than thrilled that he's been calling meetings for MY projects behind my back and not inviting me! does he not realize that the people will circle back to me to ask for clarification?), so I will pass on spending Thursday in his vicinity. And I will save on gas, double bonus! Still have to survive tomorrow, though
