helia, our church service was a long one too - but it was due to pleasure of having an adult baptism. There's no White Sunday mass in this church (as in this particular building, because the priest has two church buildings under his care, one in Prague and one here for really interesting history reasons which I won't go into now), so it took place on Easter Sunday. Enjoy the company tonight!
Harriet, so glad the problem is fixed - at least until the next time the boards are under attack!
Frenchie, wow, having a nurse come to your home! Here you'd be told to go to the hospital to get it done. If you are able-bodied, that is - there is a service for elderly and/or disabled where the nurse will come to the home, but otherwise you're on your own.
kitkat, Easter lamb cake is a very traditional Czech Easter pastry baked in a lamb-shaped mold. You can check it out at https://www.cooklikeczechs.com/velikono ... lamb-cake/ but there are many variations - I've done one with ricotta batter, a carrot cake type batter, and this year I was experimenting with a heavy cream batter. Which is really lovely and moist, but the measurements were slightly off - you generally have recipes for a "small mold", or a "large mold" and this one was kinda in the middle so my lamb doe not have a fully formed back. Given I have an antique two-piece mold, I need the dough to fill it up kinda "just so" that the texture on the back comes out pretty. It looked good enough to be taken for a blessing at church today, and all evidence of it being imperfect will be eaten today, so I'm happy anyway! :-)
L.Ann, what did you see?

trissie looks like an amazing cake! I can just imagine what a beautiful mold you have. I have never seen one like it.

I did not get a nap but rested a bit...
Took ddog for a 50 min. walk. She celebrated that with zoomies in the backyard

Next:
I have stuff to do in the laundry room. They are coming on Tuesday with my new washer: I need to make room for them to bring it in.
Also, I have to disconnect the old one. (Apparently, that is too difficult for them  )

Happy Easter! He is risen! ✝️

Good afternoon. It’s so nice to be able to just post with ease and not wonder if it will go through.

Kitkat, I saw an amazing documentary on Spiegelman and his work, including Maus.

Trissie, the cake looks and I’m sure it tasted delicious.

Hi LAnn.

Helia, I hope all of your plans are going well. Mmm to fruit and moscato.

Thank you for all you do to keep us going, Harriet.

(((French))), I hope you’re healing well and enjoying the day.

Dogged, here’s hoping you enjoy another long chat w db.

Kittykatt, I hope your day has gone well. I can’t scroll past Dogged’s post to see what you’re up to after church but I know it’s something good.

Dh and I are chilling. It rained early morning, even some thunder, and now it’s sprinkling off and on. We needed it as we are in a rain deficit. Birds are chirping all over the yard. It’s a beautiful day.
I will see you all here tomorrow (I hope) and will be much more productive. Maybe.
♥ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! ♥

Hello, everyone!

Enjoy your phone visit with your DBro, Dogged - I'm sure you'll still find things to talk about.

You're such a good Mum, Trissie, and an amazing cook. That lamb cake looks very impressive!

Enjoy the movies, L.Ann -which film did you see?

KitKat, over here you have the option to pay for disconnecting the old appliance and connecting the new one. I usually just pay, admits less stressful than trying to get DH to do it, but sometimes it's included in the price as a "special offer".

FFB, I'm impressed that the nurse comes to the house. Over here that only happens with people who are very elderly or disabled. Fortunately our new health centre is just a quick walk down the hill.

Helia, your dinner sounded delicious! Today's menu was roast lamb (I chose shoulder, as although it's more difficult to carve, it has a sweet flavour, and over here is usually considerably cheaper than leg), roast potatoes, gravy, Savoy cabbage, carrots and peas, followed by apple pie and cream. DH and I both had two slices of pie! (We won't be needing any supper. )

Bama, today started off showery and very windy, but improved as the day went on. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny all day.

Today's service was a real celebration, and we also had a renewal of baptism vows that everyone was invited to join in. Afterwards, mini chocolate eggs were handed out to everyone, and then I had coffee and a nice visit with DF E. I've also folded and PA laundry. Matilda is now on my lap.
