Oh, Kittykatt, you have opened with my favorite hen this morning. I have reared both the Silver Laced Wyandotte you pictured, and the Black Wyandotte. That one has the most beautiful pure black feathering, called "beetle green" sometimes, because across the back in the sunshine it looks like the dark neon color of some beetles that show up in summer. I feel kind of bad saying this is my favorite, because it's a close call, but for looks especially, these are wonderful. Can take the cold because their little comb doesn't freeze easily, so they are hardy, calm as can be. I don't think of them as a Sebright, because they are so plump and stocky, so you taught me something. Here there are many more Sebright Bantams, which my dear aunt used to keep.
A grocery order arrived this a.m. in the dark, so I've been busy greeting that nice fellow and putting all away.
Hopefully, there are errands in my future early enough today to stay cool-ish.
I should also follow Doggedly into the laundry tasks.
Yesterday was a very good appt and my eye was in good shape.

Re: Wyandotte Chicken Wednesday
Well, that is a gorgeous chicken, Kitty! I couldn't open the link last night, so I just got a peek this morning. Did you get the reports proofread and emailed off? Did Freddie help at all?
Sleep well, Doggedly. The tornadoes and earthquakes have already passed by.
Glad you had a good appointment, Harriet. Do you have early errands today? WTG on the early morning groceries.
FFB, enjoy your time with ds7. Yes, we get tornadoes here. They're not that common - but they're becoming more common over the years. I read that last night's storm brought 2 tornadoes to the west side of our state almost 2 hours away last night. Just property damage, no injuries or deaths. A tornado in our state last fall brought a couple deaths.
A tree in our forested area fell down last night in the storm. Dh thinks it is a dead tree. We will have to call a tree guy to get rid of it. Fortunately, it did not hit the house.
I'm drinking coffee trying to wake up.
Today, I'll finish grading, teach class 11-1, and then, if parking isn't an issue, I'll stay at the school until I've graded all the final exams. I'll leave them there at the school so the sub can share them with the class on Friday. I'm planning on bringing my lunch. Later today, I'd like to do laundry and start packing. Working on payroll COs and vocab lists would be great too -- but I'm not sure I'll get to them. I'll start packing as well. We leave tomorrow around 10:15 a.m.
I'd like to get some exercise this afternoon as well, if not another short jog then a walk. It looks like thunderstorms will be coming through. A lot of rain is in the forecast. We shall see how the exercise goes. I guess I can always go to the gym.

Re: Wyandotte Chicken Wednesday
Morning all. Yikes on the tornado helian. Glad it was away from you
I don't think I sent my condolences to trissie. Oh how hard to settle affairs and care for mil now. I hope it's all working out. Has trissie been here? I've been busy again too.
Off today and I'm claiming it off. Some shopping. Music practice. Crochet. Cleaning in here. Oh and I messed up booking again. I don't make appointments very often and then when I do I double book. Gc and physio at same time. Except gc called back later . I had canceled it .. today I have to back out of ds dental appointment again cause I forgot about rugby. And planned a quick music practice at the same time thinking before I get ds. Ackk.. maybe age? Adhd? She?
I already did a couple of Declutter things this morning. Without following routines first. I'm trying to get rid of the pet supplies big ugly shelf by the woodstove. I need a smaller cabinet or just a wall mount shelf. I threw out some gloves and stashed bins in the closet. Now it's almost time for school run and then I can get something done. Calling dental office first.

Re: Wyandotte Chicken Wednesday
Hi Lauralind
How is Casper?
We are just back from a record 56 min. walk. And it WAS very good until... a reactive dog on the other side started fussing - so I turned with my dog and we kept walking... then she spotted another dog and I think she was fearful, did bark and tried to pull... I corrected, and we went on without further issues. I think two in quick succession was too much for her to handle. Then, luckily, I spotted the lady in her yellow raincoat with her small (and very loud) Shitzu. I just turned onto the next street - pup could not have dealt with it. She's been REALLY good. Even with squirrels on the way, she stops herself, looks at me and grabs her treat
But, clearly, not 100 percent yet.
Fresh air felt good. I was coughing less out there.
Next:
strip mat in crate
Wash cover
main floor PUPAs
Cup of tea
water pansies
water indoor plants

Re: Wyandotte Chicken Wednesday
Thanks for the start kittykatt. We used to have some Wyandottes, beautiful birds.
Dogged, you’ve reminded me I have laundry in both the washer and the dryer to deal with.
Helia, I’m glad you’re safe and the threat is over. How rude for a warning to come in the middle of the night. Sounds like our hurricanes and tornadoes. They don’t dare show up in daylight but always seem to come in the dark where they’re scarier bc you can’t see them.
French, enjoy your days off. It’s spring break here (public schools out) so much more crowded than usual with everyone home.
(((KitKat))) sounds like it’s your neighbors that need to work on their dog training.
Hi Harriet, Laura, Lann!
I’ll have to go back and see what I missed with (((trissie))), hugs in advance. ETA: I’m so sorry for the loss of your dfil and that you can’t be with dh to comfort him right now. We’ve been through that a couple times and it can be hard on you. Take time for your family as you need it and don’t let the routines worry you. They can be done later. Much love and prayers for your family.

Re: Wyandotte Chicken Wednesday
Yesterday got hectic so I didn’t make it back to update. We scheduled a guy to come look at our property to clean up fence rows, take out some old dead trees etc so of course while we are walking him around to show what we want, the range delivery people arrived. I told them not to plug the stove in and how opportune that one does electrical work on the side. Since the electrician recommended by a local friend never called me back I gave him the job. He went to the hardware store after work and got the new outlet. Will come by today after work and switch them out. Dh is trained as an electrician, he used to work on electronics, so I felt comfortable with the guy coming back, sometimes these things can be a little shady. He seems nice and knowledgeable. He also wants to buy an old pickup of dhs so that’s a win in my book too. Dh has 3 old trucks and an old 57 Chevy parked in our yard that could go away and wouldn’t miss them. One less is a good thing. After that dd1 and I drove to Buccees for dinner and tried some of their sandwiches. We don’t go there often as it’s a tourist trap and very expensive but I can’t cook without a range so we did it. We may grill tonight. Playing it by ear.

Re: Wyandotte Chicken Wednesday
Thanks, FrenchFly. I did have a good sleep after my laundry workout, LOL.
Woo for a couple of days off from work.
I hope that your shoulder is healing as it should.
Wow, that is an early grocery delivery, Harriet! On the bright side, you have your supplies ready for breakfast.
I'm glad that you came safely through that scary weather last night, helia.
I would imagine that flooding is a more common problem than tornadoes where you live, L.Ann, so the slab foundations have been practical.
I'm sorry about your bad night, kitkat. I am visiting my db the first week of May, so it's coming up fast. Germane always comes with me. My db has a new cat, so we are interested to see how that goes. Germane likes cats and is smaller than his, but she likes to sleep in the far corner of my db's bedroom where the cat's cat tree is, so we'll see what he thinks of that.
WTG to good dog doing the best that she can, and dogmom who recognizes her limits.
It's hard to stay on top of everything when you are managing multiple people, Lauralind. I like Google Calendar for myself because I am just one person to look after. If I had to manage multiple people, I think that I would want a physical calendar that I could write on.
That's interesting about your tornados coming in the dark, Bama. We have started get tornadoes with climate change. Ours come during the day because it takes a lot of heat energy to make one, and we cool off at night.
What a beneficial installation visit that was for both sides, Bama.
My one-hour alarm has gone off, which means that Germane can now eat which means that I can prepare food for myself. I don't like to make breakfast during that hour after her heart pill as my rattling around the kitchen attracts her to see what's on offer.
Wednesday
Hung delicates and laundry bags
Emptied dw to drying racks
Put away dw and cart
Moved Germane’s dishes back into the kitchen
Cleaned up after dog
Computer shut itself down overnight.
Re-opened some of my documents
Picked up Germane’s food
Gave Germane her heart pill
Cleaned up after dog
Washed a few basinsful of dishes
Opened the balcony door for some fresh air while I worked in the kitchen
CUOP
