Costume lady! It's good to see your CI

We did a quick trip to Sam's to restock fresh/cold/frozen foods and pick up prescriptions. One hour of driving there/back. One hour spent inside store. 15 minutes of unloading and putting away at home. Done. Done. and Done.
Now I'm giving myself an hour to relax with feet up while enjoying my 2nd cup of tea.

Supper is in the oven. It's a chicken rice casserole that cooked for 2 1/2 hours at 325. Easy to put together. Chicken, rice, milk and cream of mushroom soup. It's cooked "sous vide" method with water in the roasting pan and the casserole dish in the roasting pan with foil on the casserole dish and the lid on the roasting pan, so boiling water/steam helps cook the food. When it's done, the roasting pan is dry.

I don't know if I'm going to sweep and mop the floors or not. I feel like reading my book,

I asked dh if he wanted green beans or asparagus as the local stuff is now available in local stores. He wanted asparagus, so I went and got some.

When I got home he was watching the Blue Jays and Tampa Bay, so I'm watching baseball.

I'm home again - had talked to dfriend M (who walked with me this a.m. when I walked the dog) about having wine this afternoon to catch up so I went directly from dcousin J's to pick up Millie at home and walk down there. Millie loves M. So we had wine and talked, they are going to Portland OR tomorrow because she is in the running for a book prize...I'll post her info in Members only in case anyone wants to read her book. Combination of Romance, history and supernatural.

Dcousin is weaker but still eating and knows her mind. Her three dkids are having a chat with her tonight to talk more about her wishes.

Well, this has been sitting awhile. I ate a roast beef and swiss sandwich and am heading to lie down and read.

I only have my workout tomorrow. My hip is still feeling pretty rough - discomfort when my foot strikes the ground, and knee pain as well. I am hoping to go on to my workout at two and get some stretching and a little cardio/movement which would be good for me. I could ck with dmassage therapist about a second appt this week - he had a 4:30 opening tomorrow, but I'm thinking I'll give it more time and stretching.

And I don't know what tomorrow brings for dcousin J and family. So I'm keeping my options open. Dh is bowling tomorrow night I think, and went to bowl tonight. I need to continue with some catch up stuff - garage, swish/swipe bathrooms, run roomba, still have clothes drying in bathroom that should be put away...lots of other stuff. OTOH, I am craving some creativity time and remembering how when dmother died, all I wanted to do was to lose myself in creative pursuits. So giving myself permission to do what I need.

We actually found time to do all the things, both out and here. Spaghetti meal was delicious and there are leftovers for tomorrow.

The children did come and hopefully enjoyed hanging around a while. We make sure there are snacks, lol. But also, I am a chatterbox and so they get some interesting conversation, too, maybe. At least not boring. DgsW listened to HRH's tips on catching bass. (And about how he invented the use of chicken livers as bait, which HRH tells with a straight face.)

Mystery, that is a good idea, but I fear the lip is just too wide for a bead of the hot glue. And it is porous in that the sides are made up of sort of individual vertical cylinders rather than solid, so that the glue would just fall into the little holes. I have found a plastic pot that is slightly smaller but just taller, with a more rounded lip, so I think I will use that as a liner instead. I'm hoping a plant will be elevated enough by that to avoid the sharp edges.

Fielded a phone call from a first cousin who'd just gotten back from the celebration of life for the second cousin who recently passed away. Lots of family news to hear.

I transplanted one petunia and replaced with a different one so that there will be more of a drift of the same colors. Watering just finished in another one of the beds.

Dgson reattached the lattice on the deck for me.
Mean while the winds had improved so I pruned limbs off the branch that fell.
Got it moved to the patio area for cutting up with a hand saw later for arm workout.
Raked up the back yard after that walked ddoggo around the block and got my steps in.
Dinner was a bit late only bc I was not hungry earlier.
Glad I'd set aside some from lunch for it I grated zucchini and cooked it with cheese on top very tasty.

Harriet the spaghetti sounds yummy!
