I think Beryl Cook liked cats, Kitty! Or she had a black and white one. :)
Glad all is well with dd1, Bama.
Thanks for the history of Mother's Day in France, FFB. So, is it also Mother's Day in Germany? One of dh's sisters and family live in Germany. We will video chat with her tomorrow - I can ask! That's a long school trip for a 10 year old - but it sounds very interesting. I'd love to go along! (Especially if I could eat French bread. . .)
Enjoy the fresh bread, L Ann.

I'm up and drinking coffee - getting ready for a busy social day with people I love - but it will be a lot and I'll be ready to be alone by its end. Our day's schedule:
- 10 - 11 visit church; meet up with dh's family friend M and maybe MZ will join us (SO many M-names in my life. LOL!)
- pack, check out, and drive home about 50 minutes --> arrive home around 1
- 3:30 - 6 host CG2 (AA can't so we're doing it for her)
- 6 - 8:15ish host dinner for up to 9 people; M's houseguest friend DOES want to join us; M will get most of the dinner together since we'll be hosting CG2 until 6 pm
- 8:15 - 9:15ish family zoom call

Between 1 and 3:30, we'll unload the car, unpack, have lunch, and prep for CG2. I might go for a walk - no time for a jog. Dh will get snacks for CG2 and I'll spiff the house.

Next:
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- tidy kitchen; run dw

Later:
- pack clothes and toiletries
- 10-11 church service
- visit with M and maybe MZ
- pack food, electronics, and books
- check out; drive home
- unload car
- unpack bags
- lunch
- after lunch clean up
- tidy living areas
- s/s main bathroom
- update lists
- go for a walk?
- 3:30 - 6 host CG2
- 6 - 8:15ish host Sunday dinner for up to 9 people
- 8:15-9:15ish family zoom call - I hope to see baby I!
- duolingo
- update health apps
- update goodreads
- read

TaDas!
- up; coffee
- email deletions + weather website: sunny, high of 77F today!

What a quiet day today.

Bama, I hope your DD is home by now. I don't post often but I read how difficult and challenging it is for you these days with your DH's situation, I hope you see progress soon, what with his health and paperwork and other worries I suppose.

Hi L.Ann, interesting to see Little Bit is now at camp instead of school, is it the same as last year ?

helia I have no idea about Mother's Day in Germany, I may google it. Good luck with your very social Sunday.

Kittykatt I didn't know about the male flowers starting before the female flowers. Thanks for the info, I won't feel as frustrated this time as the previous years - sometimes you think it's a pity the plant took so much energy to make this big large star-shaped flower, only to go to waste because there is no suitable "partner" for the flower at the right time... I hope you've had a peaceful Sunday, your menu sounds delicious as always - although the dessert wouldn't be my favorite I'm afraid. But your DH and you seem to like coffee cakes and coffee desserts.

Well I was productive part of the day. DS7 woke up late, with a headache, didn't eat lunch, slept in the afternoon on the couch (very unusual for him), and then was sick... some stomach bug and fever. He ate a tuna sandwich around 7pm and is now asleep again. I hope he can go to school tomorrow.
We have to get up early to drive DS10 at the 6.15 departure for his 5 day school trip. He was very excited this afternoon. We packed his bag with the list the teacher gave us. It took us a long time, but I guess it's important he sees what he packs, and he's learning travel skills probably.

TODOs before sleep :
list for the week
before bed usual (short) self-care routine
HRT
pick clothes for tomorrow, set alarm for 5.15am

Have a peaceful evening and night, everyone !

Hello Helia, L Ann, and FFB!

Helia, you certainly have a busy day ahead! You're right, and Beryl Cook did have several cats. Her most famous feline was a beloved Siamese cat named Cedric, who frequently appeared in her artwork. She also owned a well-known tuxedo cat named Ruby. Her affinity for cats inspired many of her iconic, "chonky" cat paintings, such as the famous piece Four Hungry Cats.

L.Ann, Little Bit's camp sounds fun!

FFB, what a good idea to pack with DS10 - that way he can be sure he has every on the list, and, as you say, he is learning life skills. I hope DS7 feels better soon.

This afternoon was hot and humid, but the evening has been beautiful - lve tidied the back garden, sowed my seeds and tidied and watered the front garden

Hello, all. I wandered off yesterday to lounge and play games, and today was weirdly tired. So I'd get up for a bit and end up back in bed. I hope that this time will take, and that I get my shower done.
