Morning all. Ohh dear kittykat. I hope dh can work the kinks out of his back. And it's nothing lasting. They are a little hard to convince to get checked out. At least mine is still just dealing with the stiffness from his fall in winter. I've tried to encourage him to do something about it and he could live in less discomfort. Maybe before he is done work for good this will encourage your dh to get a better chair.
Kitkat you must live fairly near Toronto? Doesn't sound like an all day drive for the recital. Those are so precious filled with little ones learning.
Beautiful and warm yesterday and now it's actually raining. I might just have to go out before work and stick a few seeds in the garden. I actually found 2 bean plants started last night. Finally. At least 3 weeks later and only a few lettuce seeds and like 10 onions and those 2 beans. Maybe more will sprout with the rain.
Yesterday was good. Church was great. Then ds recruited me and we went to stick the last of dad's tile down and then went to ds and ddil place for supper and play with lil j for a while.
Of course I am used to 2 full weekend days off. Now I technically didn't have any. And start all over with freight. Being very thankful I think we get to do some training this week and if things go as I hope I can get this new little older person good at what I do in seasonal. I am so done having no energy left for life after work.
Time to get up and do something useful soon. One more day ds will have class. Today and tomorrow left and then Wednesday and Thursday exam days. Ds thankfully picked himself up again and managed to get through. An assignment in science to turn in. Gotta see what he wants to do. I really do think it would be very hard to complete all of school at home but some he can do online at school.

Re: Mr McGregor Monday
Good morning/ good afternoon, KitKat and Laura!
KitKat, I'm glad the recitals were a success. If DH is running out of underwear, could he do the wash himself, or is he Not Allowed to touch the washing machine?
Laura, I think DH needs to keep moving, and when he does sit down, sit correctly, with a good posture, and remember to get up and walk about regularly .
He's gone to visit a friend who is in hospital this afternoon, and has decided to walk there and back, rather than fold himself into the car and then struggle with parking. He has mentioned looking for a chair at IKEA, so we'll see. (If it needs assembling then that's the kind of job MJ could do, if he doesn't want to use IKEA 's assembly service. I certainly don't possess Dogged's skills at furniture construction, and all the complaints when DH has to do it are just not worth it!!)

Re: Mr McGregor Monday
LOL Doggedly!!
Now, I will never be able to say ChatGPT without thinking of that French phrase. But what a more genteel sounding word for "fart" than its English counterpart! In all my years studying French, I never learned that word.
Will you and dh do some holiday-esque activities this week, Kitty? --Oh, no! I see that he has hurt his back. I hope he recovers quickly.
I'm glad the recital was fun, Kitkat. I didn't realize that you lived so close to that big city. We're about 4 hours away.
Are you going in to work today, Lauralind?
We took ds + fam to the airport at 5:45 this morning. I went back to sleep for 2 more hours once we got home so I'm off to a late start this morning.
Niece L is now sick - feverish and sore throat yesterday evening and vomited during the night. She hasn't gotten up yet so we don't know how she's feeling this morning. L and dsilM will stay until she feels better, of course. Dh has had a work meeting at home and then headed out to work. I'm heading to the dog park to meet up with dd28 and Fable. We'll see how the day unfolds after that. I do have some payroll to do.
BBL, I hope.

Well, Monday, we meet again!
kittykatt, poor DH! Did he move funny, or sleep funny, or maybe sneeze funny?
Dogged, now we've done it, we've poisoned the minds of everybody with the image of discussing farts with cats!
kitkat, WE are weather twins then! I deeply regretted not having thick socks at work today!
Home from work. So much to do, so little time! DH's party is this weeekend, and so is DBD's, and I cannot afford to lose time! Not happy with today's therapy session - my therapist wants me to be the bigger and more understanding person, the one who accomodates others' fears and uncertainties and lack of skills, but I'm kinda like - I've been doing that my entire life and what good did that do for me, if the other person just takes and takes and takes? Food for thought, but I still don't think I need to become an even more selfless version of myself.
TaDas
- morning madness
- load of lighst sorted and delay started
- snacks for all kids
- everybody to to school
- day at work
- therapy session
- library
- pick up DBD from school
- long call with DAunt
- gather plastics, paper and green waste and drop them off at collection points
- lights flipped to dryer
ToDos
- midday routine
- clean master bathroom
- 15 outside - finish carpool

Re: Mr McGregor Monday
Oh, that sounds like you're not being heard well by your therapist trissie.
2 parties this weekend - that's a lot! Good luck with the prep! I feel like we just did that.
kitkat, I've read one book by Gretchen Rubin - The Happiness Project! Actually, I didn't quite finish it but I should. I enjoyed it a lot!
Niece L has been up and eaten a little something. She did NOT throw up during the night; she just felt very nauseous. She had posted a sign on the bathroom door in the middle of the night about having the stomach flu which caused M, our renter, to freak out because she's rather germophobic. This resulted in a text to us at some point in the night. . . So, M is using our bathroom for the time-being. However, L's main symptom seems to be the sore throat, which she says is a bit better this morning. So, I don't think she has norovirus, which M was very concerned about.
Dsil M has gone out for a walk, M (renter) is in her room, where she stays for most of the day, and L has gone back to bed. I'm alone in the living room of our house right now. Nice!
It's too early to tell for sure but so far, weather for backpacking up north is looking promising!

Re: Mr McGregor Monday
Bwa-ha-ha-haaaa, trissie!
I can't point fingers at your DH for the chair, Kittykatt, as I sat in a rigid steno chair every day all day from COVID until now. It took seeing my db make the sensible decision of spending some money to get chairs that support him for me to think of doing the same.
(((Hugs))) to you on having to deal with insurance issues.
I'm looking forward to getting out in the cool, kitkat. I figure that I broke the heat wave by installing my air conditioner. You're welcome.
Lauralind, I'm glad that some of your plants are trying, even if the garden as a whole is not participating. Hopefully, as we get further into summer the plants will show more enthusiasm.
Kittykatt, I would just mention that if you are thinking of using IKEA's assembling service, buy it at the same time as the furniture. In that case, you only pay a percentage of the purchase price. If you book it after the fact, you are paying by the hour, and let's face it, nobody understands those picture instructions.
LOL, they wouldn't include that in French class, helia. But you have me curious. Do you ever see a pastry spiral with brown sugar and cinnamon or maple sugar, and do they call them pets-de-souer? Here they actually include the translation right on the label.
(((Hugs))) to you in your hectic life.
