helia , compared to your social life, mine is non existent! :-) I think two parties in a single weekend are actually easier - the house will already be clean and all spiffed up, and I am not overdoing it for a children's birthday party - a cake, a couple trays with fruit, vegetables and cheese cubes, a couple bowls of chips and popcorn, and juice/water/kid-friendly soda, and that's it. They will have full access to the swimming pool, the trampoline, and DBD's toys - not much more they'd need at second grade! :-)
Dogged, well, summer's far from over, so that AC is sure going to get some use!

TaDas
- afternoon routine
- clean master bedroom
- clean out my car, including takin out sorted trash (loaded it in the car this morning and then forgot to drop it off as I was on the phone with DAunt...)

ToDos
- dinner
- 15 on strays hunting
- speech therapy with DBD

ROFLOL! Doggedly, the French terms just get better and better! I feel like we need FFB to weigh in.
That sounds like a perfect kid party, trissie. With a trampoline, a swimming pool, and cake - what else do they need?

Yes, you two have transformed the term "ChatGPT for me".

Today has been rather humorous here! :D

I'm very tired - in a deep way. I think I need a few days to recover once we get our house back to ourselves.

Next:
- payroll: edit graphic and send out invites for exit exam
- maybe some QT Bible study?
- lists in notebook

More TaDas!
- ate lunch
- tidied kitchen
- payroll: LBBR Exam draft completed
- payroll: communication with AC; also got very short list of students eligible to take the exit exam - only 2 Japanese young men.
- s2s and self care
- squeegeed and wiped down shower

Hello, everyone!

Trissie, I'm sorry your therapist wasn't more helpful. I do think boundaries are important, otherwise one risks turning into a "doormat" that everyone takes for granted. I think DH slept in an awkward position, although the pollen count is high ATM, so it's not inconceivable a violent sneeze could have put his back out.

KitKat, I share similar haunting memories of DH assembling furniture, so, as I like a peaceful life, I prefer to pay someone to do it!

Helia, I hope your niece feels better soon. So glad Baby I had a good flight back! I'm hoping we'll do something a bit holiday-ish this week. I have a voucher for a very cheap lunch which we can use any time before September, but it's really going to depend how quickly.DH's back recovers.

Dogged, thank you for the very helpful advice. DH hasn't even got as far as looking at chairs online yet (I am not trailing aimlessly round shops, he needs to have a short list that he wants to try out) but when / if he gets to actually looking seriously, I'll remember! :D

DH is now complaining that the TV aerial isn't working. Not my department, and I'm also feeling that I've had enough of organising people to come and work on the house over the last few months! In any case, he gets a perfectly good service watching the TV over the internet, so I dont feel guilty. :D When I clean the sitting room tomorrow, I will check everything behind the TV and ensure all the connections are snug. Matilda knocked a wooden cat off the shelf earlier, so it's not inconceivable that something has got pulled out.

I'm going to try for an early night... we'll see! :D
