Yay for sunshine, kitkat! I love labs! They're so exuberant and happy and seem to enjoy every day of life.
Enjoy the bacon sandwiches for lunch, Kitty! That's nice that dh is making them for you. I'm sorry about the drug-related problems, especially in your church yard. Oh dear - the young woman who overdosed. Is she OK or was the overdose lethal? So good to hear your church was able to help R. It sounds like he can get back on his feet now.
Wow, that's hot trissie. Nice you have a pool and DBD can share it with her friends.

Yesterday, we got packed and out of the house in good time. I drove the entire way down so dh could work; he was sitting in the passenger seat on his laptop the entire drive. Dh says he will drive the entire way back tomorrow. We arrived early enough that we could go to the bnb first and unload the car. Then, we went to the session where dd30 was on a panel. Everyone on the panel did a good job. Dh and I found a "Swahili Restaurant" for dinner which had very good food! It was a hole in the wall place, and we were the only white people. I was the only woman not wearing traditional Muslim dress, but the server was a young woman who was also dressed Western-style. We were welcomed. We went to the evening session of the conference, left a little early, returned to the bnb, got coffee/ tea, and sat in the backyard and chatted. Dd28 came out and joined us for a while.

I'm currently sitting in our bnb in Columbus, OH. Dd28 + friend have just left to go to the morning session. S and M left earlier to return back home today; J12yo has a swim meet today and S is volunteering at it. Dh and I will meander over to the church as soon as we're ready. We're doing the chill version of the conference. I think we'll stay for lunch and maybe 1 afternoon session. I am giving an exam online at 3:45, so I need to be back at the bnb by 3:30 to set up. I think a coffee shop this afternoon is in our future.

Dd28 doesn't show it, but she is struggling a bit. She told dh and I last night. She is an introvert, and this friend has been staying with her since Friday June 12 (or maybe the 11th?), and she's had no alone time since she then. I'm not sure how much this friend is helping out with things, so it looks like dd28 is doing everything for her all the time. And this friend is married with kids, so older and more experienced with running a household than dd28. She came for dd30's vow ceremony, has joined us at this conference, and is leaving on Monday, June 22.

We just discovered that people ARE available for Sunday dinner. Dh booked tickets for Shakespeare in the park, thinking that the Cs were unavailable for Sunday dinner. . . I even asked him about it.

Next:
- back exercises
- teeth and make up
- gather stuff to head over to the church

Later:
- conference: will we even make it to the morning session?
- lunch at the church
- conference: 1 afternoon session?
- back to the bnb
- 3:45 - 4:45 payroll: exit test
- payroll: test results and email sent out
- payroll: edit Int Writing coursepack
- read fun book
- go for a walk - my body feels like it needs some exercise
- dinner - not sure what the plan is
- conference: evening session?
- duolingo

TaDas!
- up; coffee
- email deletions (some); weather websites
- lots of talking with everyone here; said good bye to S and M
- s2s and self care (minus teeth and make up)

Suffering introverts seem to be a recurring theme in your family, helia! Poor DD! I guess her friend just wants to have social interactions with somebody who makes no demands on her and who can talk in complicated sentences. Doesn't make the introvert suffer any less, though!

It's 6pm and I am beginning to freak out a bit. I mean... the house is OK-ish, and the garden is really nice looking, but it probably won't be as nice as I had wanted it. Not that anybody will notice, of course, we don't invite the judgemental people, they are free to stay at home and polish their own floors! :-)

trissie - they are coming for the company (and the good food) - not the house. They can only take in "so much" as they are walking through... Whatever is bothering your eyes won't be obvious to them.

helia - your day sounds pretty hectic... Coffee shop is a great idea.
"Exuberant" is my word for my pup - exactly.

Plans and lists are great but...
The day started with DH dropping 2 raw eggs on the wool rug... Of course, I had to clean. He doesn't bend that way
Dropped my pup off, drove to the sale. Was lucky: found the two nightstands, found help, then, again, found help to load the car:)
Had to go to DD's ddog (I kind of expected it...) took care of her.
Just had breakfast (1:30 pm.) Time to take my supplements (some need to be taken w food)

- lol fpa/start/adv
- clean up in bedroom to welcome new nightstands
- coffee...
