You are smart, Kittykatt. Easy to get parts is something easy to overlook. Also employing DH so as to avoid the pink tax.

I have two slow cookers going: duck crammed into the big one, and duck neck with my beloved savoy cabbage and bean sprouts in the small one. I have been chopping onions, caribbean sweet potato and rutabaga for the 3rd slow cooker, and seafood mix thawing out for it. I'm taking a little break while I wait for the seafood to finish thawing. Once I have the tomato sauce mixed for it, I will take a proper break and put my feet up. I might just do that in my fancy pants chair.

Monday
Put away contents of one grocery bag
Prepared a box of recycling to bring to basement
Cleaned up after dog
Put away dry laundry
Put away drying rack–hurray! Reclaimed real estate.
Gave dog heart pill
Cleaned up after dog
FACE: Paid bills, checked that account will cover rent
Checked email: Building is repairing the faulty alarm
Fed Germane
Bagged up kitchen garbage and brought it to the chute
Pulled out the slow cookers
Covered the dw
Brought out the duck. It looks bigger than I remembered.
Measured it against the big slow cooker: the duck doesn’t fit. I don’t have a roasting pan that will fit it, only an outdoor roasting pan in the basement.
Got the duck out of its wrapping, took out the neck and rinsed it all.
The now flexible duck fit in the big slow cooker. Barely. No room for vegetables
Wrapped the neck in cheesecloth and put it in the small slow cooker
Put salmon in the toaster oven for Germane
Chopped vegetables to go in slow cooker with duck neck
Set up 3rd slow cooker
Started seafood mix thawing in cold water
Chopped up onion, caribbean sweet potato and rutabaga for slow cooker
Picked through the seafood and put the thawed pieces in the slow cooker
Changed the water for the rest
Piece of salmon for Germane

Good afternoon, everyone! Thansk to kittykatt for starting another interesting week!
the temp here was already 83 when I woke up this monring, with the app saying if felt like 90-something + hunidity. But I got up anyhow, and went out to mow before it goat any hotter. I had to get started, because today is the day my retired colleagues get together for lunch. We went to a restaurant on an area lake - but ate inside due to the heat. Since I had just mowed my whole back yard, then showered and shampoo before getting dressed, I was hungry (and thirsty) so ate my whole sandwich - plus 2 LARGE glasses of iced tea and 1 smaller one of water.
I've had another 1.5 L since coming home. Milk, water, juice (plus magnesium capsule).
Befroe I got home, I did a litle shopping at Hobby Lobby, visited dfBS at the NH, plus went to the local garden center and bought 4 geraniums at half price. But I'm not going to plant them today
If I do anything, I will go out to the cemetery and "plant" the 3 large metal flowers on sticks that I got at 50% off at Hobby Lobby. But I think they will wait until tomorrow.
But mostly, I want to find my glasses! Good thing that I have my computer glasses - I can see OK for driving with them too
And activitywise, I'm ready to rest.... Either rest completely, or sit and crochet a bit.

It sounds like you had a productive day, kitkat.

I have three slow cookers going, and I have run out of space and plugs. Break time.

Cleaned up after dog
Put away dry laundry
Put away drying rack–hurray! Reclaimed real estate.
Gave dog heart pill
Cleaned up after dog

Piece of salmon for Germane
Finished filling the third slow cooker
Scrubbed out sink and basin
Washed a few basinsful of dishes

Germane and I have just come back from our walk, L.Ann. It's a bit warm but nice overall. And I think it does us both good to get outside for a bit.

The two duck slow cookers are done, and delicious. The root vegetables in the tomato/seafood slow cooker will need to cook overnight.

Yaay, I found my glasses. In amongst the yarns that I have been crocheting. So my computer glasses are back where they belong; I have crochetd several rows on the lacy summer shawl I am making for me (to wear instead of a cardigan, in air conditioned places).
Dson came to my rescue with his chain saw, cut up tree branch that fell at mother's house. We put them on his utility trailer and hauled stuff to our town's composting site. I am so grateful.
It's still hot - but the AC is working - so I will sleep well.

And I got my DW loaded and running - at a time when the electricity usage in town is low, so I am not putting a strain on the electrical grid.
