Even better true July Tomatoes made great sandwiches today. First time I've thought, "real tomatoes", this year. There's such a difference, and it shouldn't be so surprising when you realize these are fruits, not veggies, and thin-skinned at that. We just think of them as veggies and imagine they shouldn't be so vulnerable to whims of time and temp.

Twins', your instacart delivery got a smile out of HRH. I thought it would.

Cathy, I chatted sort of intelligently with a friend about his wife's great love of embroidery. He thinks she does cross-stitch, but not on Aida but hand dyed fabrics. He was complaining about shops not letting folks know they are closed at times. That happened to us yesterday, too, with a quilt shop, though we found out before getting on the road. Perhaps just a sign of economic times, scheduling woes.

Need to get the recycling into the can.

HRH is insisting I wear his fingerless gloves. Went into hand cramps earlier, working in the kitchen with somewhat tedious chores, I guess. So far, I admit they do feel reassuring, snug, and I'm typing fine.

We expect ds' children soon.

Ugh. Needed to deal with a cemetery issue and I let the bottom of the challah burn. The concrete contractor needs to be paid but there are issues. And I need to request the $$ from the trustee accounts ($$ were held there for investment since last winter.) So in the middle of two phone calls, I had the burner on for the peaches and sugar, and left it on, took the challah out (I was on the phone and dh came to tell me the buzzer was going off) and then I sat the challah down on the burner. Anyway, I think we can trim the blackened bottom off.

I do feel like my hair is on fire today with those complications.

The peaches/cobbler is in the oven. A recipe I've used several times: butter in the bottom of the casserole dish, mix the flour, sugar, baking power et all and put on top of the butter. Then peaches heated through with sugar on top. Some of the "crust" bubbles to the top as it bakes.

The table is set. The roomba went back to the base to charge. I hope dh can handle it finishing up later, lol. I need to clean up the kitchen again and I'll be done for now.

Good afternoon!

I had such high hopes for today. Then we had a thunderstorm this morning, and I didn’t want to shower while there was thunder and lightning going on. (I could not give you a logical reason why….) So I got a late start, and then I forgot to take my ADD meds with breakfast. (Eventually I took them with my even later lunch. We’ll see if it keeps me up at night.) I did get the breakfast and lunch dishes done, and I did my chair exercises before DH got home and claimed the chair I use. But that’s about it.

I’ll try to come back later, and maybe I’ll have some ta-das to report back on.

I am on the 5th update to the phone. Each of the updates takes about 10-15 minutes. I don't remember how long this phone has been turned off (not receiving security updates) so i guess this lengthy process is to be expected.

I made a stir fry for my big meal. Loads of fresh vegetables with 100g of meat. It was a high-volume, low-calorie dish that maxed out my yum factor.

It's been pouring rain here all day! I've stayed at home on purpose. Dh asked if I was going out because he wanted some brown bread and some fruit. I told him they have been picking peaches, so he actually wanted me to go to a specific farm to get him some. He must not have wanted them too badly because he didn't go. I went and laid down in bed to listen to the rain on the metal roof. Between the noise of the thunder and the pounding of the rain, I think I slept for a bit.

And another of getting Desk Day mostly done.

Then we had a visit from a neighbor on the next road, that was somewhat disturbing. I think he is confused, possibly mistaking me, at times, for someone else. But then at other times remembering well, enjoying the visit. He was not driving, but came on a kind of four-wheeler.

The children did come by, and the news is that dgsW will be attending a different school than we thought. He is happy in some ways, hesitant in others. DgdC was full of stories about being a helper at a crafting camp at church.

Dd27 called and will likely come here Sunday ahead of the afternoon get-together, make a cake with me like we used to do. Those plans could blow up easily, though. She is doing a lot of work at her in-laws because they have a large garden in but then ran into some health problems.

Mystery, TaDas happen on all kinds of schedules!

The neighbor planted them but she is elderly and not able to do that.
It is shady above them.
It's smoky here not to bad but hot here still.
Had dinner.
More watering now aw the sun has been taken over by clouds & smoke here.
It's good for me getting in the last of my steps for the day as well.

Good evening! Made some minor progress since last posting -- did a little time on the treadmill, said prayers, (can progress on an online game count as progress? ), had dinner, and got some wash started. Did one small task off my to-do list. Trying to push myself to do one other -- apparently not trying very hard, or I'd be doing it right now. (Moved sheets for the daybed out of a credenza drawer to which I want to transfer printer paper. But there's a lot of paper, and the box is heavy, and..., and....) I have therapy tomorrow and want to have something positive to report. But I don't have much. I dozed off in front of the ball game after dinner, so lost a good bit of time that way.

I guess my ta-das are going to happen on some other sort of schedule, Harriet. Alas.

I can move at least one ream of that paper to the drawer before I go up to bed. I'm not looking forward to bed. We had the house open today, but the house is still warmer than the outside (the good news/bad news of a brick house). I miss my tree, which shaded us from the afternoon sun. The basement doesn't flood any more, but I'm not sure that was worth losing the tree.

Paper. Must move paper. I will go do that. Sweet dreams, everybody!
