I realize that I have become spoiled in one way without as much socializing, Twins' Mom. I am freed from thinking of the varying shoulds and oughts of getting ready for much. A dcousin was recommending an event to me the other day, that I truly didn't find interesting. Then, "oh, but you're not really supposed to be in crowds yet. Well, some other time ... .." And very honestly, I was fine with that end to the topic.

On the other hand, however, you are being challenged in various ways that are good for you these days. You need to be on your game, and therefore probably do stay on your game in many ways. And your dh's newfound freedom of retirement and time offers you variety, even if it becomes a greater percentage than before of his friends and ideas. Happy for you as you find some older clothing is simply too large.

Spent the morning fielding calls from a couple dr's offices as they assimilate the news that I am quitting a med and expect their input. (Have been using my secretarial voice all morning - maybe a bit of my teacher's voice, HRH says. )

Also cooking - experimenting with the lovely fresh turmeric I found at the grocery yesterday. (taste, methods AND trying not to get stained, lol)

Oh, there is LadyM chatting about turmeric too, lol. Yes, HRH takes it as capsule and I do when having ouches.

Wishing we could less socializing honestly but with dh that's not possible. I did find a cottony hot pink top with a big eyelet around the bottom (it shows up pretty against pants) and I'll wear it with black linen pants. That's the best I can do.

Went by cemetery and I don't think we'll ever get it cleaned up from this.

More, starting a new post from upstairs. I made a phone call to the representative of the electric company and inquired as to whether he had received the signed contract from the temple office. He hadn't (signed two days ago) so I emailed it. Also found out who to talk to there about the coiled wires and pole that is still there from the tree disaster. I don't think we will replace that light that came down. And made the call, talked to rep who will report information to the proper dept and they are to contact me.

Did some looking at the software mapping of cemetery and plots are entered, but it's not granular enough to ID which gravestone goes where for some of the ones that had to be set to the side. Some I'm not sure even a strong man could turn over but I need to figure out where they will go. We have an older map that spreads across a whole table that shows individual plots. I'll have to use it...

Here barely…

Didn’t sleep well last night and have a migraine to prove it.

Managed Amelia’s early morning walk and Sweetie helped the other time.

Did get laundry washed and dried but not folded and put away. No biggie.. it will be waiting for me in the morning.

Amelia stayed with me for most of the day while I was on the couch. Reminded me of what Sadie did when she was with me. Found that interesting cause Amelia's usually a tornado around the house.

Nancy… I ditto what LadyM said about cash it’s the first thing I make sure I have plenty of when a storm is mentioned. Also make sure you gas tank for your vehicles are filled. Gas stations are useless without power.

When super storm Sandy hit the town and surrounding areas where I grew up the stores and gas stations were without power for three weeks. The stores did the same thing LadyM’s stores did, but first they had to figure out how to open the registers so they could make change for customers.
