Just to be clear - I don't want to meet SIL at all, right now ever again, Christmas or not, it's not me, it's her! (but she did an awfully good job ignoring me at FIL's funeral, not speaking a word with me, so I guess I am not her favourite person either, which is kind of funny given how up till FIL's death she was mainly in contact with me and not her brother)

Harriet, could you maybe sticky-up this year's Christmas thread?
helia, it's PLUM TIME in this house, so we are staying home, DH needs to harvest the plums (the tree went crazy again!) and I need to make tons of plum butter and canned plums. Which is a job I very much enjoy :-)
have fun at the cabin, L.Ann!

SO glad you have a task you can enjoy, trissie! And you can enjoy the "fruit" of your labors later as well. :D
I enjoy planning and calendaring, Harriet. In fact, I can spend more time doing that than some of the todo tasks on my lists and calendar! :| I don't actually use a planner, now that I think of it. I do use G***le calendar, as does my workplace and my husband. I can sync all those calendars and see them all at once on my calendar, if I want to -- but I usually don't want to see dh's calendar as it's overwhelming. LOL!
I'm glad you are missing this latest set of storms, Doggedly. Dh says we got 2 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. Now, I can't find evidence that a tornado was spotted near us. There was a small one in Detroit. A power line and a street light were down on dd30's street. Dd30 saw them sparking and called the electric company. This morning, there was a firetruck on our street, just by our property. Apparently, a power line was down from the continuing storms last night. Our power stayed on, so maybe we're on a different grid than our neighbors?

This day is going slightly differently - but it's OK! MM came here instead of walking because the rain actually became heavier right during the time we were going to walk. Her power has been out since last night, so I'm lending her a large cooler and gave her a couple bags of ice to help keep things cold. She's going to stay with a friend until her power is back.

Next:
- strip bed
- start a load of sheets

- 5:20 leave for dinner reservation downtown

That is a wild amount of water, helia! I'm glad that you got a diagnosis about your leg, so now they know how to treat it.

Hello everyone!

L.Ann, I hope you have a lovely long weekend at the cabin.

Helia, I spent today doing mostly inside jobs. The rain did stop, but it was windy, so not a good day for hedge trimming or rose pruning! But I did manage a good walk this afternoon. I'm glad you e got a diagnosis for your pain.

Harriet, I shall be following your adventures with your desk with interest! ATM, DH commandeers the desk in the spare room/ office for when he is WFH. But when he retires, I have plans... (First of all I'll be getting.my lovely handyman MJ to brace it and stabilise it so it no longer wobbles. DH doesn't seem to care,.but it really bothers me!)

Oooh, plums, Trissie! A lot of work, but so rewarding.

I hope the weather behaves for your trip this time, Dogged.

I've done mostly indoor tasks today, but it's meant I've got several niggling little tasks out the way. And I've processed all the cooking apples. They just need to be divided o to portions before freezing.

It's also.been interesting.todau,.as DH and Freddie.jabe had a big falling out. It started when DH decided Fred would not join what the terms the "all.you.cam eat buffet" on the bed this morning, but would instead eat his breakfast in the kitchen. Fred responded by hissing amd refusing to eat anything. He perked up when I took him for his walk,. but wasn't really happy untiI opened a pouch of the GI.food especially for him,.and he had some of that with his breakfast. He is still not speaking to DH, and is just ignoring him,.and is currently asleep in my chair. ( I pick my battles with Fred, and IMHO, the buffet.on the bed isn't one of.them,.as he still.eats his breakfast, allbeit somewhat slower!)

Dogged, it's DH's name for when I have all the cats on the bed first thing in the morning for their daily treat of biscuits. Freddie also likes.to inspect Matilda's saucer from the the night before to see if she has left anything!
