Happy Thanksgiving I'm so thankful for everyone here!
Bs was good for today yea!

H. got up to cook the turkey breast 5:30 to start the BBQ-ing. I got up at reg. time started choppping slicing and dicing have the celery, onions, & turkey sausage cooked and ready to add to the stuffing. It's not time to cook it.

Bball is flat so will have to have gkids bring theirs. I got the wrong soda or sody as my uncle calles it will have to have sil bring his own beverage.

Stuff is thawing that I needed to get out of the freezer. Table clothes are on the tables down stairs. Serving dishes are washed, plates and napkins are out and ready. House smells great. Dson got up at 4:00 to start the other bird. {Ours is just a breast we are new to doing it this way love learning how to do it we've always talked about doing it.}

HRH let me get a shower and wash my hair this morning while he did all the morning routines in the main part of the house. I barely got the towel onto my hair when I realized things weren't going well. HRH asked that we take the tv remote and hide it please because it was becoming a full time job to fix things. But then when he went out (oh yes, believe it - still things we are missing and WMart is open. sigh) ddad insisted that I give him another lesson with the remote so I had to produce it. Repetition, repetition, repetition, and still so confused, so I believe we are going to have to invest in some kind of large easy remote - I don't know. He refuses the tv in his room completely. Parades, yes it is on so loudly that the house is reverberating.

I've tried to call HRH's sister at his request to invite her for our meal this evening, but as usual any number I have doesn't work (She moved months ago and even asked dstepson to help with the grunt work). She is so private as to be downright secretive. I had called HRH's mom to ask for her new info, but as of then she didn't have it either.

I'm just continuing to spif. We won't eat until 6:00.

Noodles are cooking, dinner rolls are cooling and will be reheated as needed. Hair is colored. Everything else is refrigerated and ready to go.

Better head upstairs and check those noodles.

I am really thankful for sooo many things. I know I tend to vent and obsess a lot, but I do realize I am truly, truly blessed and I am thankful for all the miracles I have seen in the past couple of years. God has really answered a lot of prayers around here.

I am dressed & ready to go to db/sisil's.
Dbil & HIS dbil have already come over and cleared out the stuff I was storing in refrigerator for dsisil.
Talked to ddad.

DH is NOT in a very holiday mood. He is extremely frustrated w/his mother re: caregiver situation... social outings like holiday dinners tend to stress him out in general... plus he knows I am nervous about my weekend plans... so... let's hope he cheers up a bit. He really likes dsisil's family, though. He'll enjoy visiting with them once he gets there. And he'll be glad ds & ddil are here with us this year.

Good morning and happy thanksgiving to all my friends! I've got a question for ya'all....I am making pumpkin pie. From the Libby's can of pumpkin and i want to substitute cream (either heavy or light) for the evap. milk. Does anyone know if I can just do a straight substitution or will the amounts be different?

Soooo thankful ((((DIndiana)))) is doing better.

Thanksgiving 2011 main meal is history. DH said everything was perfect. LO said I was an "awesome cooker". I need to make some notes for next time i prepare this holiday meal, but all-in-all I think it was about 98% as good as I can get. If I kept track correctly, it took me about 13 hours of prepare/cook 13 dishes. Everything was done from scratch - turkey, dressing, hot rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli/cheese/rice casserole, 2 kinds of carrots, cranberry sauce, veg tray & dip, pea salad, rainbow salad, deviled eggs, baked beans and peach cobbler. I enjoyed cooking it - it was my kinda fun.

DSon and family are in our state now. They just arrived at DDIL Grandparents home. They will arrive at our home later today. With 5 grandmothers (including the Great grandmothers) living within 20 miles of each other, DSon and DDIL have their work cut out for them to visit everyone. Even if they only stay an hour or two (impossible to do) at each stop, I expect they will be exhausted by the time the holiday is over. DSon will be leaving again for Netherland (24 hours of traveling one way to reach his destination) once he gets back home this weekend.
