Re: Sunrise Saturday
Lucylee, I agree with Harmony. You just sound like a mother-in-law concerned about demands on her pregnant daughter-in-law. I wouldn't worry about it. If you're anything IRL like you are here, I'm SURE your ddil knows how much you love her and how much you don't want to offend her. I'm sure your ds knows this too.

Re: Sunrise Saturday
Thank you, helia. I'll try to get this off my mind. She definitely knows that I'm a worrier...
And I don't know if I mentioned on here -- her 12-hour shifts are day shift right now. She has to get up @ 5:00 a.m. and she is NOT a morning person. Plus day shift is MUCH more demanding, physically, than night shift. She said she was on her feet just about the entire time the first two days. I just don't want her to get run-down and sick right here at the beginning of a new job, you know.
Dh says this is the real problem: Ddil would much prefer to go w/us Thurs & work Sat, rather than accompany ds Sat.
However, ds really wants her to go with him Saturday. So... there's the rub.
Saturday's event is going to involve LOTS of standing around. Seating is extremely limited, and it's a much more informal kind of thing. Thurs., we'll just go in, eat, and sit down to watch the show. She had already told him, a couple of days ago, in front of us, that she didn't really think she wanted to go Saturday. But last night, he sounded like they had decided they would both go Saturday. So. At least this mother-in-law knows enough not to get in the middle of THAT.
She would probably do MUCH better to do the Thurs event & work Saturday, if that could be an option, and it probably would be with her job... but... I'll stay out of it.

Re: Sunrise Saturday
Went back to church this mornign (with DD in tow) to finish the bulletin. Even she (who teaches computer and uses the program) had difficulty????? Then even she had trouble getting the copier to print. Finally did only to have the cover upside down. Program wouldn't let her correct that so she ended up turning it upside down. There was another friend there who's been helping and finally said to just leaves some things "as is" -if there were complaints they need to pray hard for the secretary to retunr (fast). We think there are some hidden things that we just couldn't find.
I talked to medical/prescription insurance carrier -only to have them tell me I DON'T HAVE PRESCRIPTION COVERAGE!! I ended up upset and just hung up. DH wants to call his company benefits on Monday and start from there. Not sure I can even do that at this point. DH's new prescription went though without a hitch. Okay, I'll get off my soap box about MED CO and quit crabbing about them. Have no idea where to go from here.
We're going to Magic Kingdom this afternoon. DD is at school helping some of her TSA students get their projects ready for 'state's". I'm sure she'll be very happy to have this behind her -but it's another month. She and dh leave for Amelia Island February 22nd. That leaves me here with GD -hope things improve again by then. The Behavior Analyst is coming here on Friday to observe -like there's going to be ill behavior while he's here?? I'm just staying in our room while dd is away. Let the 'chips fall where they may'. Think she's starting pick up some things that she left around before Mom gets home.
Dfriend (wife of old pastor) called earlier and 'made my day'. They're coming from Indiana to visit her brother and we're going to meet them at church on March 4th. (He's the American Baptist Executive Minister for Indiana/Kentucky now). Then we're going to lunch. Can't wait

Re: Sunrise Saturday
{{{Dee}}} can you report them to the Better business bureau or some thing? Seems like there should be a worst business place to list them on as well it might even be therapeutic for you.
H. got some thing he's been looking for at the bank so he can do the farm business on Mon.
I forgot a could of things at the store ~sigh~ one was on the list too!
Not much of a sun rise here today with the cloud cover we had.
I've been feeling the weight of our situation and down in the dumps a bit so had a long quiet time today and that seemed to help. Got some notes taken in the devo. I'm reading as well. That seemed almost magical from something negative. Okay 2 chapters left so back to my book I'm hopeful that I can get it read before it's due back at the library.

Re: Sunrise Saturday
I've been lollygagging around most of the day. DDogs got me up early at five, and again for good at seven so I felt justified in taking a good nap. Vet had left a message asking about dMacs' new meds, and I called back and set up appt for him for retesting on Friday.
I think I am going to head up to playroom/craft area and work some more on organizing for now.
We are going to another fund raising event tonight, but this one is not black tie and not so fancy-schmancy!
Harriet, sorry about Pinterest - it is fun, isn't it?

Re: Sunrise Saturday
Oh, gee I had to be in such a rush for interruptions this sat here a while
I am STILL so nervous from what I did this morning, it got a little frantic . .... Breathe.
I got the LAST 4 tickets (attending together) for big city's venue of The Museum of the Bible Exhibit before it goes through customs at regional airport for the trip to the Vatican where it will be exhibited for the Easter season in St. Peter's Square. The only tickets left are single tickets so that people can't be with their friends. This will be Mon, Feb 13. I am going to keep dd out of school for this, and ds26 will join us. The 4th reserved ticket has my cousin's name on it without permission ; things had to happen so fast or I would have lost it in the very restrictive reservation process. So if that doesn't work out, I'll call and see if a substitution is acceptable or if we have to give the ticket up.
The piece in the paper said they were going fast, and something about it just made me think, hurry and I got the last foot in the door. I would have loved to have taken dd32, who has been the seminary student in the family, but she can't get here for it. I'm sure Sadie and OKay will have already heard a lot about this - it is the Green collection and debuted in their state this past summer, and includes ancient Torahs, Mantles, Dead Sea Scrolls, Gutenburg Bible, and a Palestinian Aramaic New Testament just discovered. Others may know even more about it because it's been in several large cities on a limited tour.

Re: Sunrise Saturday
Back from trip to market town. The drive there was magical because the sun was out and the landscape was all sparkling. I nearly turned the car around to go home for my camera. When I was at the printers I commented on how beautiful it was outside today and he said, "Yes, and I didn't have my camera this morning!" so I wasn't the only one blown away by the beauty.
I took a couple of pictures of the ice once home but the sun was gone by then.
Ds is bored today so will meet me near the airport and we'll go together to get his Daddy. I suppose that means we'll be eating out as well. Oh well, the soup will keep until tomorrow.
I had chili for lunch (from a can) and read the newspaper. Now to get moving. I have just under 2 hours until it is time for me to leave. I won't be able to make it look like I worked all 9 days dh was gone but I should at least get the mail sorted before he comes home.
Here's a link to some of the photos I took today:

Dee -- I have seen a local news program do a "taking action" feature. People call them and complain about stuff just like this situation you're in w/Med Co. The news people start investigating and hounding them until they usually do get satisfactory results. Is there anything like that available in your area?
I think reporting to BBB is a good idea, too!

Re: Sunrise Saturday
I've done a fair amount of work upstairs. I finished emptying the wire cube structure that holds all my stamping/scrapping stuff and tore down the side that was leaning and loose. Rebuilt successfully w/o the whole thing coming down and have been going through stuff, purging and pulling out what I haven't used in a while. I will have a stack to go to my office for some of the women that are starting out stamping, some to go to the religious school for art projects, and some items that are simply Goodwill.
