What happened was that dd13's knee has begun hurting again (injured in a game of basketball last month) and it's rather troubling. I called Gen Prac this a.m. and they had a cancellation and said come on in now, which suited HRH best anyway, to stay home with my ddad first thing rather than coming back. The upshot of this is that dr wants her to have an MRI and no matter which way the wind blows ( there's a possibility there's a tear ) we may be in for physical therapy.

I've now gotten her to school with dr's note of excuse, and gotten my own breakfast. I have another dr's appt tomorrow a.m. and that's at a distance, and now must work an MRI into week's schedule and an immediate second appt with Gen Prac for her, so my hopeful week's plans are crumbling a little.

Time to begin Morning Daily Card at ... 11:00-something. yikes.

Indiana, it's an odd weather series, but I'm happy you and Jake get cheery outdoor time lately.

((Twins Mom)), I feel for you! BTDT with multi-priorities - not far from it now. Remember that "shoulds" and "oughts" are not concrete, and often we impose them on ourselves wrongly. Best thought I can come up with is go back to the ideas for balancing priorities that have worked for you in the past. Do you need a notebook or file for each priority? Is there a type of calendaring you've done that was helpful before? That sort of thing. The In Canadas work out first thing in the morning - I can't, but can see how that gets it done before interruptions. Read Emptynester's post of optimism above, too.

((((Twins)))) you are spread pretty thin with all those huge time & focused commitments. I think you are doing AWESOME considering all your juggling.

MT - well said!

Indiana - I would love to be inside your head and watch those thoughts as they are considered, sorted and organized. :) :) :)

I just finished Day 2 of C25K extended program. How many times will I need to start AGAIN before I finish it? Hum..... Not beating myself up - just making an observation and planning to do better than my last effort. I also made the commitment to post daily in H&F thread during Feb for one of my monthly physical goals.

Trash day today I've wheeled it out to the curb h. got it all ready last night.

PS: Just wanted to say how much this village has inspired me over the years and in my day to day life. You have taught me courage when dealing with the curves life sometimes throws you - grace to accept whatever comes - energy when all I want to do is pull the covers over my head and optimism that all will be for the good.
I'll say Amen to that, MT!! There are many days lately I'd rather find those covers and yet this village spurs me on -if not right away certainly as the day or days go on.

Have to go do my hair & makeup. DH wants me to take him to H a r b o r F r e i g h t before taking him to school to help with dd's TSA team. Next Tuesday he's going for a parents/chaperones meeting in preparation for their trip to "State's" on Amelia Island toward the end of February. I have to go back to the north side of the city to pick up dgd and bring her home. Think the fact the behavior analyst is coming tonight was messing with my sleep last night.

Water filter company paid a visit this morning and I think we're back on track. seems the the gears were stripped so it wasn't chlorinating properly. Sure could tell something was drastically wrong. Invited dd in for boiled eggs last night -at least that's the way it smelled! Phew! Might even be able to dishes now. My next trip. BBL

I just composed a note and sent it off to "Benefits" for the company from which dh retired. Hoping they can help us straighten out this debaucle with Med Co. Med Co is now telling us we have 2 plans listed under 2 different numbers again!
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Good morning! It is beautiful here, sunny and 48*! We are predicted to get up into the 50s. I may do my jog outside this afternoon.

Steering committee meeting went well. I think we discussed all we need to discuss; I forgot to review action items at the end so everyone knows what they need to do and when, but the secretary is amazing and I'm sure she'll include that on her minutes, which she will likely send out tomorrow.

I got up at 6 a.m. to do some prep for the meeting, so I'm tired. The house is in decent shape though; it wasn't too bad to begin with. My tummy was very questionable first thing this a.m. but seems to be OK now.

I agree with what MT and others have said about this board. You ladies are amazing and inspiring!

I hope dd13's leg will heal soon and is not too seriously hurt, Harriet.

((Twins)) You have so much going on. .. .

Alright, I need to work on Hebrew now. Well, I think I'll start a lol first.

Taking note of all the inspiration and good examples in the village. Thank you for the kind words. Need to focus on some positive ta-das for the day:
-picked up/dropped off at cleaners (requested by DH)
-mailed a bill pmt (DH wanted me to go there to pay and I've procrastinated because of taking work time away from it, so I mailed it.)
-filed FAFSA online this morning with some estimates for dd, who requested it because she is applying for a general scholarship
-continuing on deadly boring client work....

Having lunch with temple VP and potential new committee chair today. Trying to decide whether to go to temple committee meeting this evening.

MT, yes, very wise women in our village!

Good morning all. Well, mixed success last night. I did put away the LOL, got tea for work, exercised, and put passport in my purse. I tried to get Bug-A-Boo's feet done, but have decided a different method, for which I need to buy supplies. I did not put away all the gift. For dinner, I went out, when I had planned to eat in. In my defense, the restaurant was right next door to Brake Masters where I was getting my brakes looked at. I had a choice of waiting in their waiting room for an hour, or eating, I chose the latter. My brakes were fine, but they had been making noise. I went to bed at 8:00, too early, but I was tired.

Tonight is Girls' Night Out, which will probably be Girls Night In with a movie (I hope not Mr. Popper's Penguins AGAIN). I need to remember to put the trash out. Today at payroll, I need to read some documentation and document some scripts.

I agree, I like the optimism around here. Not enough of it comes from me.

Great start to my day as I got desk cleaned up and went out to cast my vote. Spent some time chatting with an exit guy about his business and similar problems he's having, and the state of our state which is very depressed. Sometimes it is hard to keep my thinking positive when all around me is "down". I know many states are faring way better than we are.

Anyway, when I got home I discovered I must have eaten something questionable yesterday. I did have something while I was out. :? So, though I was trying to do some sewing, I spent most of my time trotting between bathrooms. I sure hope this passes quickly.

Great to read you're feeling better, OKay. That sounds like a tough situation at your Dparents. I hope to get through my old age challenges with that much optimism.

I'm wondering about Sunny. We haven't been able to connect yet today.

Harriet, DD1 was long distance runner in HS and had some sort of tear in her knee which wouldn't support her after it happened. She did physical therupy and got better without surgery. Surgery was pretty common with the runners, though and all recovered ok. I hope DD won't need it.

Thanks for the thoughts and helpful experiences about dd's knee - I really think this will not be an extremely big deal, but the MRI will tell. Bless her heart, dr and I were talking and had gone over "MRI" several times and poor dd was sitting up on the table not knowing what it was. She asked what the letters stood for and we both realized she had no idea what might happen to her.

Dee, does dgd know this fellow? Perhaps if you just had him over and called him "Mr. name" and chatted about the weather, she wouldn't associate his presence with her own behavior.

Today is Kitchen Weekly, so I have been cleaning countertops and cleaning the sink - my how I do appreciate that Mr. Clean magic eraser when it come to stainless steel sink surfaces. I windex-ed the sink window and organized some, too.

I've gone on a walk with my ddad. Fielded a long phone call from an old friend of both HRH and my late husband. Had chicken for lunch.
