Sunday Fresh Start!

Post by OKay »

All around positive influence on my mind. Today I started some cardfile/box. Starting with the everyday and personal things today.
Reading LynLee fresh start with cards is inspirational to me. You Go Girl!

The days I work hard on following the cards always feel good. I can see accomplishments both in the card completion count and the smoothness of how things are running in our home/life.

I'm up on the treadmill once again. Really worked up a sweat because I didn't use the workout music on my computer (I was busy updating and rebooting it) so used the workout music that I can't type with because it is too fast.

A fresh start would be good for me. I'll start with s2s and then church.

Harriet - we received a phone call yesterday telling us about the aut-oh at MPB. DH had been there for hours but had just come home for lunch when it happened. I'm 99% sure we won't receive any compensation for the damage done and our time. I'm just thankful it didn't turn out worse because he could have hit someone when he gunned his vehicle in reverse in a crowded area.

Last night DH and I team mowed the yard. Both of us using push lawn mowers. We were able to go over about 75% of it with both of us mowing continually for a couple hours. LO "helped" by driving his battery operated vehicle around the yard. Maybe I ought to rig up a mower for him to pull? (no, I'm not REALLY going to do that due to safety factors) Now I can relax a little with the rains starting since the yard isn't out of control. The yard is the first thing seen when pulling into the driveway so it is important to keep it looking as neat as possible......especially since we are expecting/subject to inspection by LO's court appointed counsel at any moment.

PODA = church and then hopefully a lazy afternoon of rest and relaxing.

Ugh. I just read on FB that my supervisor-for-the-last-20-years-at-payroll-job just discovered she has lung cancer. She will have surgery in the morning to remove part of her lung. I've sent her a message with invitation to meet for cup of coffee/meal this afternoon. If she accepts the invite then I'll scratch my plans of resting/relaxing afternoon and spend some time with her. I suspect I might be one of her best friends even though we had supervisor/employee relationship that kept a boundary around the relationship. Now that the professional relationship is gone it only leaves the friendship portion. not sure I'm explaining this where it makes sense. I just know she doesn't make friends easily and she needs to be surrounded by support now. She just retired LAST WEEK.....and her very first week of retirement was hit by the cancer diagnosis. Ugh.

Good morning, villagers ~

I've been away at a 3-day sewing retreat. Their wi-fi wasn't working so I am very much out of the loop. I thought of all of you frequently and will try to cuop asap. (how's that for alphabet soup? :) )

I did see that Indiana is back in hospital and have been sending good thoughts.

Okay ~ I'm sorry your friend got such bad news, and hope the scheduling works out so you and she can get together.

Lynlee, my laundry card rotates "to the beat of a different drummer" for sure. In the first place, mine is a rotation card on which I check off using little date notes - not trying to do the same washing every Monday, for instance, but just keep rotating through. And you're right about it not getting refiled as promptly, because after all some part of the wash is likely still "up in the air"! ( :D ) That's my pun for the day and I'm sticking with it! I'm happy for you finding inspiration and having fun with it.

OKay, I was just worried about that guy's crazy idea that YOU would owe HIM and wondering if he would come back to you with it. just want you to be able to tell him how much you figure he owes you instead! I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's diagnosis and I hope you have a chance to meet with her.

Indiana, you are on our minds and hearts this morning!

BookSaver, your life is so hard. Bless your heart. (ducking and running!)

OKay, I hadn't thought about the lack of usual lawn mowing affecting your confidence with sudden visits re: LO. Yikes. Another thought that comes to mind, is do extra proactively to keep him free of the bug bites, scratches and scrapes that always seem come to 3-year-olds with the onset of warm weather. I just flashed back to poor dd13 with her amazing allergy to bug bites that once made her look like we'd just picked her up from some malaria-ridden jungle... ... And dd32-then-3 falling and scraping her FACE right before she met some of my late dh's family for the first time. Oh well, it's only meeting a lawyer, right? LOL Can't wrap them in bubble wrap all the time!

Dstepson and ddil are bringing dstepgd over today so that will be great fun. Dd13 is looking forward to it.

Up and about here and needing to get busy. Yesterday was wonderful - a true Shabbat as Kathryn said. It's hard to believe there's still four hard weeks of tax season left. Last night I dreamed I had to work Mon - Tues then was off on Wednesday - my usual schedule for when it's not tax season.

-clear kitchen counters
-bring down laundry
-start a lol
-eat breakfast
-meds for me and ddogs

I'm done with that round. DH is starting in on me this morning - he couldn't find the stuff in the Verizon bag that he brought home week before last when he got his iPhone because I had put it away. I told him the same thing I tell the kids: "Don't leave your stuff out because I may not remember where I put it." So he's unhappy - too bad.

-take out kitchen garbage (I hope that's what is smelly?)
-clear kitchen table
-straighten family room
-sort and reboot laundry
-make up the bed

Yesterday was a rough day for us. Glad that's over. Forgot my meds. so had to come back for it
before a planned group lunch meeting sigh! Enjoyed it. H. went to the gun show, I took the car and went to the thrift shops and got a book. Then to the movie it.

Today is starting off on a good note #1 dgd just sent me an e-mail saying
that she got straight A's this quarter! Yea for good news!

#3 dgd is here now; she's had breakfast and brought play clothes with her; not food for two meals sigh. I'm thinking lunch we can use the free meal for h.'s bday we have. I'm sure I can
come up with something for dinner. There is always a can of soup! I was hoping to not have to cook today. LOL!

Next up church. *~*Poofers*~*

Sorry - no news from Indiana's niece. I might give her a call later if she doesn't contact me.

I finally got all the pictures and my blog up for the week. The little thumbnail pics were hard to tell apart - so I had to go back and forth a bit.

We will be going to church and then off to carve this afternoon. Then ice cream tonight. It will be a long day without a nap.

Have to get moving. OH!! it rained all night. I really have to get up on the ladder to check out the gutter by our bedroom. After it stops raining it drips for hours and wakes me up. There must be something in it. We never think of it when it isn't raining so I must put on the todo list.
