Harriet - we received a phone call yesterday telling us about the aut-oh at MPB. DH had been there for hours but had just come home for lunch when it happened. I'm 99% sure we won't receive any compensation for the damage done and our time. I'm just thankful it didn't turn out worse because he could have hit someone when he gunned his vehicle in reverse in a crowded area.
Last night DH and I team mowed the yard. Both of us using push lawn mowers. We were able to go over about 75% of it with both of us mowing continually for a couple hours. LO "helped" by driving his battery operated vehicle around the yard. Maybe I ought to rig up a mower for him to pull?

(no, I'm not REALLY going to do that due to safety factors) Now I can relax a little with the rains starting since the yard isn't out of control. The yard is the first thing seen when pulling into the driveway so it is important to keep it looking as neat as possible......especially since we are expecting/subject to inspection by LO's court appointed counsel at any moment.
PODA = church and then hopefully a lazy afternoon of rest and relaxing.
Ugh. I just read on FB that my supervisor-for-the-last-20-years-at-payroll-job just discovered she has lung cancer. She will have surgery in the morning to remove part of her lung. I've sent her a message with invitation to meet for cup of coffee/meal this afternoon. If she accepts the invite then I'll scratch my plans of resting/relaxing afternoon and spend some time with her. I suspect I might be one of her best friends even though we had supervisor/employee relationship that kept a boundary around the relationship. Now that the professional relationship is gone it only leaves the friendship portion.
not sure I'm explaining this where it makes sense. I just know she doesn't make friends easily and she needs to be surrounded by support now. She just retired LAST WEEK.....and her very first week of retirement was hit by the cancer diagnosis. Ugh.
