Yesterday was a wonderful day for me! I didn't have time to post before heading out for the day (woke up at 6:30, and had to be at dMum's for 7:15!! :o  ) Believe it or not, I was only 5 minutes late! :D We spent the day at the Women's Wellness Conference, and it was - as usual - a fabulous experience. The day started off with a continental breakfast, then a general session called "Drumming for Wellness" Not nearly as new-agey as I thought it would be, and quite a pleasant, fun experience. Session 1 for me was called "Juggling Life", and was done by a life coach who's taught all over the world. It was all about identifying real priorities, learning to say no, and finding some balance in our own lives without taking on things from everyone else. This same person taught my third session called "What Are You Waiting For?" - a very interesting and thought-provoking hour and a half!

Oh good grief!!! I started this post about 10:30am today, and just realized I'd never finished it. I've gone and done errands, chatted with Mum, picked up groceries, and had several short naps. Now it's time to go start supper.

Except........there were a whole bunch of posts ahead of me since this one had sat so long, so I decided to cuop, and then got sidetracked with making supper (which has now been eaten) *sigh* let's try this submit thing again!!

RE: yesterday event at MPB. The vehicle left before the police arrived and did not go to the police station as DH suggested. After the police visited with DH, they went to our local bar and talked to the owner about the vehicle and found out the driver & spouse had spent several hours in their business that morning. The really REALLY sad part is there was 2 small children in the back seat the whole time. The police are on look out for them now.

Shopping with DGS14 is on hold until we can get measurements to know what size to order. He will be here later this week so we will get him measured and then resume our shopping efforts.

LO has started running a fever. He says his mouth hurts and points to his throat. I can't see anything usual when I used a flashlight to look down his throat. He has only eaten a few bites of food today. I hope he isn't coming down with something. We have another DAunt's funeral to attend in the morning.....yes, in the past 3 weeks we have lost 3 DAunts. This time last month we had 7 DAunts and now we only have 4 DAunts left. :(

At church today dgd would not stay in the nursery so I held her and she fell asleep did not take any notes. Song service was awful the assoc. pastors wife can't sing [IMO] off key and flat it was really bad for me like agony not a very good attendance to the first service. I've had people call me about the singing. Don't know what to say other than pray.

Dil sent a cover letter for hubby but I can't open it need an up date or something how frustrating! Dgd has been good so that helps.

Hi everyone! I don't normally pop in on Sunday, but I am on the computer doing Quicken updates so I thought I would drop by. We are having crazy wind today. I just swapped the laundry and broke the door on the closet that the machines are in. I made it to church, got my internet running again, got the cats to the adoption clinic. I don't know what is for dinner, but I suspect cereal. Next I will pay some bills and update Quicken again. DD10 is back with XDH, my two foster cats are temporarily with someone else who is getting them to the vet for me and it is quiet around here. I am glad to have my virtual friends.

I sat out and read for a little bit while the clothes dried on the line. I consider that multi-tasking. Or supervising the clothesline.

Anyway, I had the presence of mind to take both cordless phones out (home & office) and dd called and we talked for a good long time and ds called on the second line to let us know he was on his way.

He and I conversed on the the back deck after he arrived. Then we all drove down to the Seaway for dinner. It was a good drive and we got gas at 44 cents a gallon cheaper than here on the way back.

This evening my childhood best friend phoned and we talked for hours. Now I'm off to bed because we have to be out of the house by 7:45 tomorrow morning.

checking in from Monday.
Hugs prayers to those who need/want them.

OKay - hoping that LO is all better soon. Driving his car around the yard sounds like a great help.
I have a meadow here (it seems) needs mowing. I'll try pull out some rogue grass types that are seeding while they are showing their true colours.
Prayers for the family of that man too. He would not be great to live with. Hoping the police catch up with him soon.

Had a call on friday from dd2. the 18mth old got a gastric bug - after 18mth shots from doc so thats the likely pickup spot. On the we both dd and sil came down with it. She called in the calvery - mil, and her stepmum have taken some baby care duty sessions. Hoping they are getting over it now. Seems like it - fingers crossed from todays phone call as they start / keep recovering..

My box use is progressing. I do hope I can continue progressing and keep using it. Overwhelmed easilly seem to be my middle names lately so hoping I can keep creeping on things. And make some real headway too. If I can do a little in several areas I hope things improve. I really must see whats what about my stove too. On the weekend I got innovative cooking my gf cereal just enough.
here the washing card is yellow for not necessarily everyday. I think I'll keep it in the daily section - still in the current to look at today - until things are as processed as far as its going today.
I have a checklist in a book for when I change the sheets etc. there may be a to be created household book. Or maybe thats a step too far and I need keep it simple. I've brought out the paperclips to note waterdrinking , and to tie jobs for the day with places or specific tasks. Everyday cards - Take5 (PUPA), Cleaning, Toss, Yardwork. An as I can one of Specific projects. Lots of pink cards for personal including meals - cos its just me here. and pets. A work in progress.

re the positive imput. I really have decided to give up on reading a book - got sent a pdf copy - that is full of negatives while touting itself as positive. Reading it undid the helpful routines that I had used to get my day started. Chapter 2. I think I've had enough. The ideas in there that are helpful are written a heap of other places without all the negative spin that goes to "others" in this. It brings me unstuck and I can't afford that. Even if the book/author has many devoted readers/followers. Maybe its just my take on it being negative. Who knows. Maybe others don't read it that way. I need follow my good sence and drop it for me. Do what is helpful.
Thats why the pages I read online were good. Helped me get off my duff and do something. Thats what I need. Not pages of whining about being blocked. :x

sheets are changed. washing is on the line. I still want to do my readings and then get some more white cards done here.

Happy Birthing day to Kathryn.
OKay condolances on all your family losses.
Bittersweet - retreat sounds a real treat.
waving to Elizabeth Nancy Harmony Twins Dee MT Harriet Lucylee Cowinkle Lisa
Sunny Kally and all who come turn the lights on here.
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

Good to give up anything that's not uplifting and helpful, Lynlee. Sometimes I have to quit watching so much news, I find that I get sad.

Doing a big cleanup in the dining/sewing room. Yikes I made a mess in there!

OKay, I agree what Lynlee said about the guy who wrecked - probably not easy to live with; however, it might be the same with the wife, too, God Bless those children.

The latest news from Indiana is no news. She is still the same - - stable. They haven't done the scope to see about internal bleeding - will make that decision later.

On the AZ front - DH and I decided not to go carve this afternoon. It was raining, hailing, sleeting and, at one point, snowing here. Cold wind - really miserable to be out. Both of us were aching - probably because of weather front. Time to hunker down and stay warm.

I'm finishing up the dishes and then will make it an early night.

Well -- I just finished reading The Hunger Games. I am amazed at how quickly I read it and how much I enjoyed it! I would really like to see the movie now... but I do NOT see that happening on opening weekend.

Besides the fact that our lives are scheduled around ICU visitation right now, we have houseguests coming in next Sunday!!! Yep. Y'all know what a great hostess I am. NOT. But dh's cousins are coming and will be spending 3 nights with us. I do NOT plan to cook for them -- they need to try out some of the new local restaurants anyway. ;) This is dfil's nephew, so in some ways, the timing IS good, you know... but OTOH... it will not be likely to be the most fun visit they've ever had in our little town. * sigh * I don't think they have been here in ten years... so I'm pretty sure I've gained about 40 pounds since they saw me last. * another sigh *

Exercise time has just been non-existent during the past week or so.

Dfil is still just holding his own... Tuesday will be four weeks in ICU.
My ddad, likewise. Tuesday, ddad will meet with lung specialist & maybe also have an appt w/infectious disease doctor to see what lab reports from last Friday's tests showed. Thursday he will have a CT (?) scan of stomach. I think that's what they called it -- he will have to drink something, and I know dmom used the word "scan." Still running low grade fever. Still feels miserable.

DS & I made it to church this morning & I've washed a load of clothes. That's about the extent of accomplishments around here.

Thinking of (((Indiana))) and hope we hear some good news soon!
Tomorrow is another day.

((lucylee)) How long does this make for your ddad running the fever? I didn't realize your dfil had been in the hospital so long.

We're glad to have you, too, Elizabeth.

Thanks for update about Indiana from Emptynester. Healing rest may make the most difference right now, but thankful Indiana has caregivers around her doing some thinking.

That sounds marvelously uplifting all 'round, bittersweet. Great topic titles. Real priorities, not just taking on things from others.

Nancy, my heartfelt advice to you is don't get dragged in if it turns to gossip or anything resembling gossip. It will wear you out, and usually those kinds of phone calls just start circling, like "beating a dead horse", because no one's going to change anything, just talk and talk.

Lynlee, yes, there are several choices we have after the first few chapters of ANYTHING (book or other slice of life) and one of them is always the choice to spend our time differently! Why stick with the negative when there are so many positives to explore. I figured out a long time ago that the opinion that interests me most is the one I form myself. ;) Let others enjoy what they will, and you be true to your own opinions!

Harmony, I spent probably 24 hours not watching news and, contrary to popular belief, the world did not collapse without me! Oh, I love to hear about a great mess in the sewing space.

Happy Birthday to Kathryn's dd!

I was afraid it was really raunchy, Twins Mom, but that sounds reasonable, without leaving ladylike-ness completely in the dust! :D

Our visit was nice but difficult with my ddad very confused by each person in turn, yet determined to stay in the middle of everything asking questions. Nevertheless, dstepgd seemed to like her present (a darling girly storage box with a stuffed Disney Piglet inside). She was disappointed there was no time to go to the movies as I have taken her before, but her ddad said just no time for it. We had sub sandwiches with HRH getting my ddad to try out the headphones on a basketball game, which did work out well long enough for us to enjoy the meal. Then dstepgd and dd disappeared to dd's room to be girls together, which makes me happy - they got along so well the whole time.
