Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
Good morning! Yesterday, I got done what I had planned: grocery and other shopping, Quicken update and backup, put away Halloween costume (yeah, you read that right). I looked into form 8332 from the IRS for XDH, turns out we don't need it this year. I am, as always, very tired this morning. I am going to try taking my nighttime pills earlier. One of them has a drowsiness side effect. It is cold and windy and does not feel like spring (which is typically windy but not cold). DFosterCat has his vet appointment today. We are all prepared for the worst, lumps in a cat with a history of two types of cancer is generally not good. If that is what it is, I will stop taking him to adoption clinic (though he will still be adoptable through the webpage) and focus on comfort care. The webpage will give details of his condition, so if anyone does want to adopt him, they will know what they are getting into.

Yikes! I called the lady to get the info. In talking to her it came out that the guy who did their negotiating, is the guy buying their place. She kept saying everything will work out but he is so busy that it takes time for him to get that done. Dh was in meetings all morning. I just talked to him and he says he just doesn't know if he wants to enter into a contract with them based on the fact that the guy negotiated a deal and then turned around and said he couldn't buy it but his friends wanted it. Dh thinks he never intended to buy it. So I told him to decide and I trust his decision. I agree with dh that we hate to be under contract for almost 2 months and then have them back out and there we are 2 months later, starting this over again. So everything is at a standstill and rightly so.

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
Good Morning Dear Ladies,
Very rainy here again.
I slept in this morning until 9. I rarely do that but this dark rainy weather makes it hard to get up.
Am moving a bit slow here today, legs decided to ache today. So I'm doing a little and taking a break, then repeat.
Yes we do miss the greeters, Harmony. It's one of those don't know what you had until you don't have it. Don't know if calling 1-800-Walmart makes a difference or not, Home Office does whatever they like anyway.
Tried watching DWTS last night. I don't usually watch it but wanted to see Sherry Shepherd, Gladys Knight, the urkle guy and a few other dance. Of course we had a great down pour during Sherry's dance and the satellite went out.
Oh well maybe I can catch it online.

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
Having done SOME work on my living room, I've come to what may be for some a rather obvious conclusion: having three bags of kittycat yarn, one of baby yarn, one with DGS's blanket-in-progress, one with DGD's blanket-in-progress, one for a knitalong-in-progress, and one for a crochet-along in progress is really TOOOOOOO much yarn for one room!!
I've got the last round done, though...and now DH is up. He means well, but can be quite a distraction from me getting things done. Like now....we just finished watching a PVR episode of BBT (seems Kathryn's gotten quite a few of us hooked on that show!
). Yes, the PVR is getting full, and yes, I was on a break, but it wasn't supposed to be over half an hour.
Ah well...I did get the entire round done, and it's not even 11am yet. I want to get in at least a couple more rounds before I have to leave to pick up DD and the kids.
- sew three kittycat pads
- hardboil some eggs for lunch
- make bed
- start a load of laundry
- upstairs critter care

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
I'm always embarrassed when I log on here & read all that you ladies have accomplished.
Today I'm blaming the cloudy, cool, rainy weather. Like OKay, we don't ever (well, almost never) complain about rain. After a winter with only about 5 inches of snow, and never more than 2 at once, rain is welcome.
I have errands to run:
vet to buy Colby some high calorie, expensive food
pharmacy to hopefully pick up meds for both DMother and myself
to grocery store for distilled water & whatever else falls in my shopping cart
take meds to DMother & visit with her
bittersweet - Yes, that does seem like a lot of yarn, but then I don't knit or crochet so maybe not1
Sadie - Sounds like your weather is similar to ours. I slept in also, refuse to feel guilty about it.
Lilac - I don't blame you for being cautious about the house sale. I've never heard of negotiations like that. Strange.... Glad to read your DD & DGC got home safely.
Emptynester - Happy carving!
OKay - Your quote struck a chord with me. Glad LO's fever is gone.
BBL
Elizabeth - Keeping fingers crossed for dfoster cat.

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
Dd2 invited me to have lunch with her and the little girls. They had leftover pizza, breadsticks with cheese and cinnamon sticks plus birthday cake from dgs8 party. The boys were home last night and won't be back until Friday, so she is trying to get some of that eaten, so that it doesn't go to waste.
While I was there dh called and he has checked around and found people who know "the guy". No one had a bad word to say about him and dh found out what business he runs. In the meantime dd2 recognized his wifes name, as someone she has seen as a "friend" on dd1 FB. So she called her. She said they are decent, church going people. That helps but dh has been doing some reading about selling your own home and most lawyers advise against the kind of situation that these people want to do this.

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
Lots of clouds here today with sun trying to peek in between.
Harriet, hope the honey mix and salt water gargle worked for dd and she's feeling better.
OKay, I hope since LO did not have a fever last night that means he's well today. Happy you got some much needed rain. Maybe the weather pattern is changing for the better.
Lilac, good news that you have someone really interested in the house --- hope the timing works out for everyone!
Elizabeth, ((dfoster cat)), hoping for the best.
Sadie, is it the damp weather making you achey? I asked ds#1 about door greeters at his store. He says they still have them, but they are moved back into the store further from the doors. He says this is causing a problem with shop lifting as they recently had someone take a kayak out without paying for it.
Hello to MT, Twins'Mom, Nancy, Bittersweet, Kally, and anyone I've missed and those who check in later.....
Today is puttering day; I'm trying to go room by room either decluttering or throwing away from Spending about 15 minutes at a time then concentrating on another spot keeps me from getting bored or sidetracked. Anyway, drawers and cubbies are looking better!
I heard the mailman's truck (actually maillady today) a little while ago, guess I'll go check it out.

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
I am back from the vet and lunch. DFosterCat's condition was not good and his prognosis was dismal. I went to the vet and we put him down. I am glad I went because he was nervous there and started purring when I got there. He went peacefully and is now romping around with his missing leg restored and his tumors gone. The one good thing is that what we had to do was obvious. It is sad, but I do not have to second guess whether I did the right thing. That is my update, I've got to get back to payroll tasks.

((((Elizabeth)))) Bless your heart.
This morning I planted the last of the scallions, elephant garlic and 180 more onion sets. Now I can focus on getting the flower bulbs planted! After lunch I harvested a couple dozen green onions and a double handful of leaf lettuce. Everything has been cleaned and put into the refrigerator.

((Lilac)) Hoping for the best for your house sale. Always a very stressful time. BTDT
Hi, Sunny! Happy puttering.
((Elizabeth)) Sorry, but I'm sure you did the right thing. Glad you were there for him.
Ohhh, green onions & leaf lettuce out of the garden. Made my mouth water!!! Yum
I really must get out of this chair. Anyone seen the bgs?
