I started my painting for the living room wall today. DH made the frame on Monday and I added the canvas. Yesterday, I painted it with some house paint instead of gesso. I made it really thick and clumpy for texture. Today, I added some color. Blue/purple for the sky, and sand and reds for the ground. The sky came out way too dark so I am letting it dry and will do another coat on it.

Still no call about DH cardio procedure. Last time I called I got my ears laid back and they didn't make an appointment for 5 weeks. Kinda like not sending the meal back in a restaurant so they won't do something bad to it. I am going to talk to the Dr. for sure next time I see him. Last time I was still shook about DH having to have the procedure.

Time to switch the laundry twins.

Good morning or good afternoon, as the case may be... So far I have made a call to the pharmacy about one of DMother's meds, talked to DMother, folded the jeans that have been in the dryer for waaaay too long, and put another lol in the washer. That's more than I accomplish most mornings..... The washer just beeped so you know what comes next.

Emptynester, your painting sounds interesting. Hope you hear soon about your DH's appointment.

Indiana, I have heard about myplate. Makes more sense to me, but I haven't really spent much time on it. Yes, I know I should. :D

The weather is acting up all over! Can't say I like hearing about the snow. Stay safe, Nancy & bittersweet. Snow is not unheard of here in April, but I don't think we'll have any this year. Tornadoes, now that is another story. Watches and/or warnings are commonplace in April, May & June.

Harriet, I hope you feel better soon! Happy birthday #94 to your ddad! My dmother will be 93 in July.

Waving to Twins', Dee, Elizabeth & anyone I may have missed. Have a good day!

The weather is wild all over today, isn't it? Yesterday was really bad. Pictures on the news are distressing.

Here it is beautiful as usual. Cool enough that we can open windows in the morning and cool off the house and not have to run a/c later when it's warmer.

I had a nice baked potato with sour cream last eve. for dinner. I even ate the skin. I had fruit yesterday too. I don't do juice, apple especially makes me sound like niagara falls inside. Grape seems ok in moderation.

I am doing ok. But I missed last evening's church meeting where I am Secretary, and I slept through it and didn't call anyone either. A couple people called, thinking I'd fallen off the earth. I am so embarrassed. I try so hard to be attentive to my duties...I'm grateful at least the other gals knew something was wrong as I wouldn't have missed like that...

Anyway, today I managed to get some checks in the mail and I have 2 LOL hanging up. I had to bring all the patio chairs back over from the fire pit since I hang some hangers over the tops to dry some things. I am caught up with laundry finally.

Dinner is in the crock pot and dishes are done. I'm exhausted now, need a nap. Getting better but still weak. Tomorrow DD2 comes with her 3 kids. She will be away with a girlfriend while I am with the kids. Fri night or Sat her DH will come too... we will be together for Easter I guess. I wish I felt like having this company right now, and I love them dearly, but don't feel up to it...

Everyone not feeling up to par or recovering from something - please feel better.
Not sure, but DH uses aspirin occasionally, and has tinnitus. Makes me wonder...

Sunny as you know coumadin is a juggling act. Mine formally stays at 2.5 but it has been going haywire the last few weeks.

I find that as long as I consistently have a serving of green every day then I stay at 2.5. I can't do green only a few days a week and hit 2.5.

I hope everyone is feeling better that is fighting a bug or injury.

That is so nice of eeryone to say I'm back to my old self posting. I missed you all so much.

Hopefully 3 time is the charm on my carpeting.

Back home from ultrasound, return toaster oven, buy toaster oven, lunch.

Ultrasound was read by the doctor and shows nothing. She was extremely thorough so I believe there is nothing. That doesn't mean my breast doesn't still hurt but I've been mammogrammed and ultrasound and nothing is showing up.

Returned the toaster oven to Wal Mart. Their one box with the Hamilton Beach I wanted was broken through so I didn't even bother to open it up to see if there was damage - been there, done that, been back to Wal Mart twice. Sigh....

Next 5 stops didn't solve my problem. Some had nothing, some had alternates but either not in stock or not well rated (I kept phoning dh at home to ask him to research stuff for me.) Finally, back at the first store I went to last Friday, they had an alternate for $10 more than the B&D (which is what I had bought in the first place but returned because it only had one shelf.) This one is smaller than the Hamilton Beach (a plus for counter space and a minus for cooking capacity) and the reviews are all over the map (whereas the HB one had consistently good reviews.)

Since I'm up against the wall here, I bought it and will unpack it in a moment. At this point, with all I've been through making this purchase, I'm actually afraid to open the box. I have yet to actually plug in any of the ovens I bought, they all had something wrong with them that was so obvious I never got to the testing them out for actually functioning!

After the purchase, I went out to Five Guys for lunch to 'celebrate.'

The weather went from a bright, sunny, day to cold and miserable with a black, black, sky. If I lived near Lucylee, I'd be worried but never get tornadoes at this time of year and have only had about 8 in my 49 years of living here.

Kathryn, I think I've heard that an ultrasound also reveals cysts. Very happy for you that you have an "all-clear".

Emptynester, what fun with painting and textures! I realize I don't know much about heart procedures, but those in my extended family who received stents, at least, have not had adverse reactions from that particular procedure. All the best to Mr. Emptynester.

Harmony, I hope the potato turns out to be a positive since I opened my big mouth!!! :) Sometimes HRH finds himself judging every meal in retrospect, asking himself was this right, was that right and trying to be smart next time. We have beautiful cantaloupe right now, and he must not have as much as he'd like, but judiciously have a little bit on along.

I believe it is OKay who has mentioned looking at the plate and judging how much of it to cover with which types of food. I think her dh's dr was explaining this to them, or maybe to LO.

Elizabeth I did a quick edit in your post earlier to replace your daughter's very lovely name with "dd". :) It's not really a big deal even if we do mention names here - I was just pretty sure you did that by mistake and I happened to be here right after you posted.

I have chicken salad and slider-sized potato-bread buns to make sandwiches for our "party", and will also offer the boys some deli slices if they want meatier fare. We have lemon cake and Mayfield's "Snow Cream" flavor ice cream. I simply cannot put crackers or chips out in good conscience for fear my ddad will try some and not be able to manage them. He has some chewing/swallowing issues and it's better not to even go there. He has received 3 cards in the mail, so they will be a nice surprise. Our neighbors who always come for his b-day have had to call with their regrets. The wife is sick.

Thanks Harriet! I try to use DD instead of names, but I guess I slipped up.

I have eaten lunch and gotten directions to Girl Scouts. I need to remember to bring pen and paper for DD to take notes. I should probably take the same for me because her writing is normally cryptographic and her broken wrist is her writing wrist!
