I guess I've never thought of a "crossroads", but it is a good idea. Usually if both my eyes will stay open by 10:00 am, I call it good. Probably can't call it a crossroads, can I? Yesterday, I got two loads of laundry completed early, & then kind of fell off the wagon. Pathetic, aren't I?

Tentative goals for my day:

Find the flat surfaces in the bedroom
Sort more laundry, bedding, towels, etc. that seem to get pushed to the back burner
Maybe vacuum bedroom floor & more some things around
Take dcat to the vet for weigh-in and buy him some more high-calorie food
Get drinking water
Visit with my dmother
If I have time, more clothes around.....I think winter is over!

Thinking of OKay today. Waving to all, have a wonderful day!

OKay!!! Glad you are home!

What a wonderful report from OKay. But she is a fantastic gal. So efficient. Remember the NO's and heal fast.

Not doing very well on my goals for today(Note to Harriet - it is not a list) but have gotten a lot more stuff not on the list done - like a couple emails and DPC's.

Time to get moving on the goals.

Kally finally a crossroads post I can relate to!

One good thing about getting here so late is that OKay is home safe and sound. I don't have to wait around for the good news!

My sister is dropped off at the train station, a prescription picked up for a neighbour, our annual meeting with our business insurance agent (although it turned into a bit of a counseling session because he has had a traumatic year) and I've ordered some books online but will have to wait forever for them (or at least 6 weeks.) Oh well, they are ordered and I won't have to think about it for another few months (I still need the third series, but now I'll have 2 of them.)

My licensing was last night and that went well. I have a certificate to hang on the wall and everything! Two of my fellow students knew my sister (one from high school, the other from her work in Toronto) so my sister wasn't bored.

Another presbyter gave me a ride home so dh and my sister didn't have to stay for the meeting. The Resource Centre was voted out of existence. Sigh.... But aside from that, I had a great meeting because I sat with a former minister to our church (but not when I was there) and he's also a 'star' minister (one of those who everyone knows because he's so amazing.) He was really helpful to sit with because he would explain issues to me when I was getting lost. It reminded me how blessed I was to be in this "biz" - the people tend to be really nice!

I survived the visit with my sister without losing it. I'm much better at walking away from her when she is annoying me too much. I did have to google some things when what she said was so patently wrong. For instance, when I commented about how quiet it was on Friday with all the stores closed, she assured me that everything was open in Toronto and it must be an Ottawa thing because Good Friday isn't a stat holiday. When I said it was, and I knew so because ds was paid 1.5x for his work, she said I was wrong. So I pulled up the Retail Business Act and read the part about where all stores must be closed that day because it was a stat holiday. I couldn't resist because not only was she claiming her city was modern and mine parochial (her words), she was telling me that I was wrong and should know better. I hate that attitude.

I need to get my act together because it is almost half way through April and I have deadlines approaching fast.

OKay, maybe LO will respond to the concept of caring for YOU some now, and being your nurse at times when you need understanding (i.e. can't pick him up, etc.). Now wait a minute - they say no fishing? LOL! That must have been in response to your question - surely "no fishing" is not an eye dr's usual thought pattern! Unless he/she is an angler! If I need an operation like that, I think I'll ask for more sedation!

Ewww, sand everywhere - yes, getting dd home and comfortable was the priority, Elizabeth! Hope you are inspired by all you will see on your trip.

Harmony, I like it a lot when I see lots of handles online, too. I think my eyes open a little wider, wondering what I'll hear about!

So glad, Kathryn, to hear your visit was mostly positive. Hurray for a Certificate - I think you should frame it with a double mat, maybe gold leaf!!!

Gee, we should have a big flourish for earned long-term accomplishments here... oh, wait, we do... ...

I second the congratulations for your license Kathryn.

I'm so glad it all went well OKay.

Stitches aren't ready to come out. They should be ready by Monday. I need to make sure it is healed as much as possible with stitches.

OKay, I'm glad your operation went well. Did you get both eyes done or just the one? Do obey your doctor's orders. Consider it a needed rest.

Indiana, boo for stll having your stitches, but now you have something to look forward to.

Congratulations to Kathryn for getting your license. You've worked a long time for this.

I spent a long while in the office getting caught up. Phone kept ringing and I needed to take care of a few other things too. DH has a day's work tomorrow from all of that.

My crossroads are hardly ever at 10:00. Because of the extra office duties that extends things for a couple hours most days. And lots of times there are extra hours in the late afternoon or evening to do, paperwork stuff. If it weren't for this I'm sure I'd be done at 10. Now it's 11:30 or so, but I do tend to take a little break around 10. Thinking about it, I guess it's good that I keep up as well as I do around here.

Several phone calls handled.

I'm off to sew.

 Last night had a yummy idea for dinner grilled cube steaks w bbq sauce and had pepper jack cheese on it that was on a bun with pumpkin! We sat on the swing and enjoyed the weather and looking at the lawn after I'd mowed.

Time to start making the 3 dozen overnight cinnamon rolls.

I will do them in three batches so it won't be bad.

I just wasted the afternoon except for a short email exchange with my former minister. He got a complaint letter about having eggs in the sanctuary on Easter and so I gave him some cyber support. I should have pointed him to OKay's church and pointed out that it could have been eggs and horses so the parishioner should be thankful it was just eggs!

Aside from that, I've just been catching up on forums. I reintroduced myself on the old WW forum I used to post on frequently. I figure since I get new life through the promise of Easter, I should probably take better care of myself.

Dinner will be turkey leftovers tonight. So that is easy.

The weather here has been alternating very cold rain and bits of sun. We didn't get out for the mail because the sunny bits weren't long enough to get to the store and back. So I'm a slug today.

CONGRATULATIONS KATHRYN! SO HAPPY FOR YOU!

OKAY - so glad you are home and all went well. I too was a bit half awake when I had my eye surgery several years ago. I couldn't feel a thing but it was interesting to hear the doctor and his assistant quiely talking while working.
