Yikes, Elizabeth, I'm sorry it's so expensive! I hope it's an easy fix once they get there.

Got through that round, and also changed three kitchen light bulbs. Two were burned out (one had been burned out for over a month probably, one just burned out, and one just never put out much light, so I replaced it anyway.) We need for the kitchen to feel "light filled" once we put it on the market, lol.

Next round:
-reboot laundry (that was a load of delicates that will hang to dry in a few minutes)
-bring down the rest of the laundry
-move my car out of the garage for when dh gets home (he had both a meeting a funeral visitation to go to tonight)
-straighten "hot" kitchen counter
-sweep up some in the garage (this is not a comprehensive sweeping, but sweeping around the entrance mainly) and vacuum the little mat there....then put the vacuum in my car to go with me tomorrow

Kathryn, I've ridden Marta many times from the Lennox station to Five Points, then picked up the shuttle to the Braves games. On Mapquest, I'm getting 22 minutes to drive from airport to Buckhead (and that would be w/o heavy traffic obviously) on Mapquest, so it's hard to imagine why Marta would take two hours. I do believe that the Red line only operates specific hours - it's the newest line so I've never used it. I'm somewhat familiar with the Buckhead area since that's where the GA society of CPAs offers continuing education, and their office is across from the Buckhead station. (Do you want to send me a PM with your hotel location and see if I'm familiar with that area?)
BTW, Nancy is right about the heat and humidity in GA; but the Buckhead area is very walkable in general. (It's ds who is in Atlanta, and I doubt he's set foot on Marta except to go to a Braves game himself.)

It's been cloudy and humid for days now and we've just had a small shower. We really needed the rain, but I'm glad it held off till today. Ds#2 stopped yesterday on his way home from work to mow the grass in the front and edge the driveway and sidewalk.

(Harmony) ...If I may come to your defense....couldn't someone have taken notes of the meeting and then sent them to you for typing. There would be no reason to say anything to make you feel bad! Hope I'm not speaking out of turn......

Harriet, I'll bet dd13 will be glad when this school year is done! Good thing she had time to make the changes on her project.

Well, Wednesdays are usually my in-between days for outside errands or catch up chores or focus/zone chores, desk day, etc. - whatever is needed. Today was desk day; bills etc are organized for the month and desk area is decluttered and put in order. So that's done for a while. Supper is over and kitchen clean for the evening.

Lucy, that's a long newsletter especially with the extra pages added in. I never realized it was that big of a publication! WTG getting it all done!

Elizabeth, wow, that's a lot of money.

Twins, glad you got through those meetings. I admire how you are able to handle successfully whatever situation comes in your job.

Done with that round, and changed the bag in the small vacuum I'll take with me tomorrow. I took the ddogs for a little car ride with the windows down and they appreciate the trip out. Dh got home earlier than I thought so I'll calling it quits for now, but I have gotten quite a bit done.

Sunny, I don't know how successful I feel - I feel woefully inadequate to discuss the rabbi's shortcomings with him, and it was hard not to tell lunch guy what I really thought of him after his mean, spiteful email. But I'm getting through, somehow. Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Site that might help someone with pets -
I found this site, which gives just about every pet food calorie counton its various pages. Check out the "food and calories" links at bottom right for how many calories are in the food you give. On most pet food labels, calorie counts aren't listed, so this is pretty helpful. I already knew Tobias should get 220 calories a day to maintain, so now I know he can have Grilled or Roasted varieties of FancyFeast (DVetNeighbor likes FancyFeast for him) - 2 cans a day, plus 1/8th cup of his favorite dry food as a treat.

Meant to tell Harmony, yes, Sunny is exactly right -- someone else should have taken notes in your absence. I always have someone else do that when I have to miss one of our meetings. There is one lady who is so wonderful... she will go ahead & type them before giving me the final copy!

Sunny -- yes -- our school newspaper is sorta out of control, isn't it? It's not printed on newsprint, though -- just to clarify. It's 8 1/2" x 11" size. When I first took it on, it was usually 12-16 pages. Then we increased to 20. Then we started adding inserts (mainly to get late happening sports in, and stuff like these wills).
I really get very frantic the last few days before the deadline. No one cares WHEN we sell it -- or really, IF we sell it, I guess, LOL... but if I quit it, I'd have to take on another English class during that class period. And I do love preparing it... BUT. Two days this week I've been at school past 5:00 pm and it's like this every six weeks. The students type their stories, but I proofread everything and do last minute "adjustments" to the layout, etc. (We use Microsoft Publisher.) I'm waaay too picky about it all, but like I said, I do enjoy it. I just always get panicky that it CANNOT be done in time this time. But it always is.
I set the schedule for sales days, approximately every six weeks, so it has to be at the printer about 5 business days beforehand. I give my student staff members their assignments & due dates. And then... I wait... and wait... and wait. Some of them are VERY good about doing everything on time and being very diligent. Others... not so much. And since about half the staff just does this in their "spare" time -- they are not receiving grades or course credit for it -- so I can't just give them bad grades for being late! I have kicked a few people off over the years and today, I was telling all the seniors how we are going to "get our act together next year... I'm going to come in and crack the whip and I'm going to get that bunch to shape up NEXT YEAR..." LOL. (About 2/3 of my staff will be returning; I take grades 10-12.)

That's way more than any of you wanted to know about the school newspaper business, right?

Unfortunately, that's all I have to tell about b/c that's all I've done all day long. My classes are watching Romeo & Juliet (the 1968/69 Zeffirelli (sp?) version. The Leo DiCaprio (sp?) version REALLY gets on my nerves.

I have ridden the Marta in Atlanta, but it wasn't a very typical experience, I'm afraid. We got on at a station just west of the city and rode in to the Georgia Dome for an SEC Championship football game. I don't think there was a soul on the train coming or going, who wasn't an Auburn fan. So it was a very pleasant, friendly, safe crowd.
Most of the time when we are in Atlanta, we are near the Braves stadium, so that feels very safe, too.
We went to Atlanta on our honeymoon, you know. Saw AU play Georgia Tech.

Waving to EVERYONE! I've been collapsing when I get in every evening too, but I think I may feel a second wind coming along now. Maybe I can get some school work done, which has been pushed to the side while the newspaper work was so urgent.

Today has been a GREAT day. DH got a clean bill of health from Cardio Dr. I had a good session of PT. We walked over a mile this afternoon. I FINALLY got the new printer set up and it will do an automatic double sided print !!

There is a lot that I didn't do - like dishes and paper work and ... and... and... -- But I did cancel Netflix and mail back my last DVD and mail birthday card to DS (early even!!)

DH is watching Nature channel and all the bad animals are eating the cute ones. YUCK!!! I know it happens - but I don't want to watch it.

Maybe I will do something here in the office. What a concept!!!

Tomorrow DH goes to breakfast with the boys - so I will wash dishes then. I will got stack them neatly now so the kitchen looks a bit better.
