I'm moving slowly and steadily this morning. Woke up naturally at 6:06, put on the radio and fell back asleep. It was the cool breeze blowing over me that encouraged me to snuggle down under the covers and the bed did its magic. Woke up just before 7, thinking "Good!, it isn't too late" and then ended up dozing in and out for the next hour.

Did my treadmill, ate, and then treated my hair with lemon juice. I'm still mid-process (I'm done in the sun, haven't rinsed) and my hair feels like straw. I smell good though, despite not having a shower yet!

While out in the sun, I took time to catch up on my devotions (I was 3 days behind) and did a bit of tidying outside and hung out a load of laundry.

Now to s2s. I haven't decided if I'm going to do the Apple Cider Vinegar rinse, in which case I might be back outside to dry my hair. I did remember to put on sunscreen before sitting out for an hour, although a healthy glow would be appreciated.

Forgot to let you know that the church musician's first words when she saw me on Monday were "You look great! What did you do?" so she noted the makeup without being prompted but it just made me look good, not obviously made up.

Focus on how much you & your family will enjoy the finished space, Helia. Remodeling projects nearly always take longer than the original time frame, at least that has been my experience.

Good morning! DD10 had a headache yesterday so Girls' Night Out was a movie at my house (Scooby Doo and the Lake Monster). I remembered to pack my lunch last night and to set the crockpot going this morning. I am doing chicken with pepperoni, anyone's guess as to how it turns out. I will let you know. I just had some pepperoni I needed to use up. Today I am looking at software.

K in C when is your hubby's trip over I am glad you posted news of it in yesterdays thread.

My bs was great at 71 today.
I've made the bed made coffee and put away most of the clothes from doing laundry the other day better late than never.
I'm so glad I got to the garden and it's weeded now! Dgd "helped" Yea! She likes to water. Speaking of dgd is here already.

Last night I stopped by a house on my walking route and asked if they would show me the chicken coop and got a tour of their lovely garden better than a park! He had 7 Bantum roosters two hens. He had a roo that I could have for free that had a bad eye a dog got too close to it. His hens do not sit & hatch out the eggs very well. He had no heat lamp. Said little red hens Bantum breed do better. I have another friend with three and her hen has hatched out some.

Had an interesting chat while hubby after his first day of training and what construction projects he saw in the works.

I'm done s2s for the day (about time!)

The ACV rinse didn't leave my hair smelling as much as it seems to leave other people's hair. Maybe, I diluted mine more (1/4c to 1 c water as per instructions I read somewhere) and I rinsed it out (some people rinse, some people don't.)

Given how straw-like my hair was after the lemon, it is quite soft now despite not having used conditioner on it. Not quite as soft as I like my hair to be, but not bad.

I'll lemon again in a few days, but the ACV is only once a week according to my hair stylist so after the next lemon treatment, I'll probably just use conditioner.

I took "before" photos on Saturday and "after" photos today but they are non conclusive for now. Partly because I had makeup on Saturday and I was wearing white, not navy. I'll keep adding photos to the file since the lightening of the hair is supposed to be gradual over time.

Dd wrote last night asking for her Ontario student ID numbers (from her old report cards.) I was able to pull the file within minutes and send the info to her. She was thrilled and sent two thank-yous. The first was thanks, the second was "Ok this might sound silly but I want to say thank you again -- it's an awesome feat that you just pulled being able to find that information so easily. Kudos to you and your excellent filing." She's right, it was awesome and I was feeling rather proud of myself.

I decided before I took my shower to put my winter bedspread in my my space bag so I could get it out of the way. Needed to get my vacuum out for that. After I finished sucking up my stuff and putting it away I though...gee since I have the vacuum out think I'll vacuum the bedroom.

Well 2 hours later I have a clean house...how's that for being distracted Vacuumed and dusted all the house except for the one with the closet I'm getting ready to tear into. Cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen and have shiny sinks to prove it. Have smooth jazz turned up and flowing through the house. Dinner is planned and ready. Area rugs, two loads worth, are either in the dryer or washer...this includes Willis' bed.

There is a new house being built next to me. Sadie TWD (the wonder dog) decided if she barked enough at them, they would go away. Unfortunately it didn't work for her. Now it's Willis' turn. As Norma can tell you he is a bit intimidating to look at, but a sweeter dog you'd never find. The guys are putting on the roof today and got a good look at Willis. There are a lot of houses being built very close by and that means a lot of strangers working on them. I specifically wanted the roof guys to see Willis. He would never hurt them, but they don't know that, and I like it that way

Sweeties back from his morning errands. I told him if I went somewhere before he got home, I would leave him a note. Later while I was cleaning the house I thought to myself...the custom of leaving notes so people know where you are has sort of gone out with 8 track tapes. Now people just leave a voice mail or call the person on his/her cell phone. I like the feel of pen and paper so I don't think I'll change a thing.

Now to take a shower....I stink!!!!

Waving to ALL -- and saying good morn-- well, good afternoon! I slept till almost NOON today! Of course, I was awake @ 2:00 a.m., watching the Hatfields and McCoys w/dh. I saw most of the first two episodes earlier, while they were on at 10 & 12... but dh couldn't leave the Braves game, so he watched the 1st episode @ 2:00 a.m. and will try to catch up on the second episode tonight. I just can't stay with it 2 hours at a stretch... much less 4, for tonight's showing of episodes 2 & 3, so I'm just hoping ds has it taped OR that the History channel offers it on dvd later. I am interested in the story, and I really like Kevin Costner... just get distracted too easily when I'm trying to watch a movie like that at home. (Or -- I fall asleep!)

Called Chevrolet dealer about the crazy electronics in the Tahoe. I'll take it over there tomorrow morning, after my appt w/allergy doctor, and I suspect I'll be sitting around their waiting room all day long. Technician didn't sound too hopeful about finding the source of our problem -- unless it happened to actually do something while they had it. How frustrating. All this computer technology ought to give them computerized answers to problems!

I don't know what I'm going to do today... maybe just try to recuperate from my "vacation."

DH and I went in toward the city to get some landscape staples and I picked up a few more perennials. One I'd forgotten we used to have in back of our house was silver mound -got 3 of those. Need to find someone here who has Hens & chicks they want thinned out. If not here, I'll talk to the guy who bought our house and see if they're still plenty out back. Sure he wouldn't mind me getting some. I tried to root a cutting from my old flowering crab (kids gave it to me one year for Mother's Day & it was gorgeous every year) -but it didn't work.

Wanted to get 8 more bags of black mulch today but they were sold out. It's on back order so hopefully I can get some in a few days. Cashier asked if we wanted red instead -don't think so since we already have black down.

Had to stop at the grocery on the way back for ground beef, boneless/skinless chicken breast and Z wie gles hots. All were on sale. Needed beef to make meatballs for the sauce I have cooking. Then dh got a call on the way home that the softball final he wants to go see is at 4 in a nearby town (12 miles). This same town has the spaghetti restaurant he was going to take me to yesterday. Not sure just what we'll do yet. Sauce here will be even better tomorrow. (Game was off yesterday because of severe storms we had -looks like they went through all the way to Boston).

Think I'll read and relax a little bit now that I have meatballs done and in the sauce. DH put a wooden knob on the top of my crockpot lid and bought a ceramic one while we were out. Couldn't fix the other one.

Cowinkie: since dh and I don't use our cell phones except in extraordinary circumstances, we do leave notes. In fact, there are several that we use all the time so our laundry room wall has about 5 stickies on it and when we go out, we close the door from the laundry to the foyer and stick the appropriate note on it (i.e. off with Tim, gone to get mail, at the church....)

No progress here except to create a to-do list. Not sure that is real progress!

I love my DMIL. Every time I am around her, I am once again reminded how wonderful she is. Birthday Luncheon was wonderful and enjoyed by all. DNephew/DNeice made announcement they are expecting their first child. This is the 2nd DNeice that found out she is pregnant this month and both babies are due within days of each other. January 2013 is going to be a doubly fun month!

I thought about the recent conversation about mouthy teenagers yesterday when i experienced something similar. While the 3 of us were in the vehicle driving to our destination, DGS17 told DGS15 to "F _ _ _ off".
I didn't think before I reacted. I immediately put on the brakes and pulled over to the side of the road. >>>>instant attention getter....all conversation immediately stopped<<<<< I sternly said "That language is NOT ACCEPTABLE! Cut it OUT! Got it????"
The immediate response I got was a meek "Yes Ma'am"
I pulled back onto the road and we continued on as if nothing happened. I will be surprised if they said that again around me. I probably won't be as nice if there is a repeat offense.
