Hmmm... well, maybe I should go over that list more carefully, of who gave what -- but one of my dcousins and I made out the list and I'm not SURE the names on the LIST will exactly match the names on the cards. I mean, if Jane Smith gave us a package, I (or my cousin) might have said, "Jane Smith" and wrote down that name b/c we knew her... but the card inside the package might actually say "Jim & Jane."
* sigh *
I don't see how I can err too far though by allow them to say "thank you" to the husbands in these couples, also.
My senior English teacher was a real stickler for all these little things, really made a big deal of stuff like this when we were getting our graduation invitations... that's why I think about how to address a widow vs a divorced woman, etc.
DH & I have walked 3 miles...
I have bothered ddil on the phone while she was in the doctor's office...
And ds has called to TELL me ddil is IN the doctor's office &
HE WAS GOING TO call me when she got out & didn't she send me a e-mail message to that effect...
And yes she did... but it drives dh crazy that she won't just CALL US.

* sigh *
DH is certain this means she just doesn't like us...
But, anyway, ds has called back and said all is well, doctor will see her again on the 22nd, and at that time they will "talk about" whether to induce or not.

And that ddil likes us fine, she is just sick of being pregnant, sick of talking about pregnant, and doesn't really want to talk to ANYONE except him, "a little bit."
Oooohhh... I guess I'm just saying a prayer that either she goes before the 22nd or the doctor says "let's give it another week" when he sees her then.
And now -- believe it or not -- I called dmil, @ HIS REQUEST to see if she needed anything before we came over, and I started telling her about ddil's doctor appt, and dh had the NERVE to grumble @ me b/c -- wait for it -- --- HE WAS GOING TO TELL HER!
AAAUGUGUHHH!!! You do NOT have to be crazy to live here but it helps.
When he gets home, I bet I tell him I have made my last phone call on his behalf. If he wants to know something, he knows how to dial.
