Good morning ya'll

Sweet Home Alabama is playing in the background so I am singing along with it.

Nancy..wish God would water our yards. There have been big fluffy clouds behind the mountain for the past few days and that usually means we are getting ready to start our Monsoon season. Just taking longer to get here this year.

Lucylee...what will we be calling you by the end of the day..granny, grandma, madear, meema??? (last two are really ol' southern terms)
Yippie for Harriet.

I'm going to finish up my ongoing projects and be done with it. Thinking of you today Twins. Wasn't that long ago I was in the same place as you. OKay, I use the village as a reward when I finish a 'mess" of cards. Looking around it will be awhile before I get back here ;)

Waving to ya'll.... cya"ll later Will be tapping my toe waiting to hear the cry of a newest member of this Earth. Isn't the birth of a child quite amazing????

I never got here yesterday and almost didn't make it here today.

Yesterday was so busy and today almost as busy.

I will be back.

YEAH!!! Have all our meds in my sticky little hands.

Stopped at the antique store but it wasn't - antique that is - it was a gift shop. But I did find two things there. A metal tree of life with 6 frames on it. Guess who has 6 DGD?? Me! that's who. So I saw that as a sign that I should buy it.

Also found a great curio shelf in the form of a barn and silo. Took a pictures of that as I wasn't going to pay $50 for it. But DH can now build it.

On the way home I was going to look at the picture (on my phone) and it said that the SD card was gone. So I called the phone company and was sent to the 2nd tier for help. I had taken out the card and re-inserted it, turned off phone, taken battery out and none of that worked. He had me turn phone off, take out SD card, power up phone, re-insert SD card and it worked. So the trip home was short as I was on the phone for quite a while doing that.

Oh! we also stopped and got some fresh sweet corn so we will have a veggie supper with sweet corn and sliced tomatoes. Maybe some sweet potato fries in the toaster oven to go with it.

Now time for a lunch snack before I kick back with my book. That way I will have more room for sweet corn.

Oooh MT that menu sounds wonderful.

Gift I gave myself today: a clean house. I've been cleaning. Got started with the dust mop which does an ok job if one is in a hurry, and though not pristine, was ok for what I was doing. I had piles of sand / grass / dust swept up. DH decided to get the very last level with very soft push broom he likes to use.

So, I washed bathroom mats, cleaned 2 toilets, shook all the other mats, broom swept both porches. Leaves, grass blowing around and misty rain blowing made a genuine mess everywhere. I had quite a job. Then I worked with grout cleaner in kitchen and rinsed that portion about 6 times. Floors are all mopped now.

Boy the house really did need done. I guess I was just waiting for storm to be done, but I couldn't stand it any longer. I still need to dust furniture.

My friend has flooded house. :( We're still ok here. I must check on the old house, it is always way wetter over there. I hope Sunny is ok and her 2 kids/families. They are getting hammered with no end in sight. DH isn't able to work.

Hello dear ladies,

Hope all in the path of Debbie remain safe.

Another 100+ temp day for us. Goes without saying, it HOT.

Have done dishes and laundry. Walked outside with dogs and got the mail. The outside part seems to drain me to the point that I just don't wanna do much else once I'm back inside.

DH is out working today. He wants to do a front end alignment too on the suburban. He's been getting the vehicle ready for our trip.

Called Daunt yesterday. She had fallen a few days earlier and cut her hand trying to stop the fall. She went to the hospital for stitches and said three different people asked her the very same questions before giving her any medical treatment. She said no wonder the cost of health care is so high, there are 3 people doing one job.

Thinking of LucyLee and Family.

Have a great day all!

Watching for news from the Florida SHEs, Dee, Cowinkie and Lucylee.

The kids went in and did their laundry in Liverpool. The muffin/cookie lady (who comes by with a basket of treats each night after 8 p.m.) told us that there was one there and we didn't have to drive as far as Bridgewater. Yay! this makes our day's plan perfect.

We leave for dinner in a few minutes.

Played Scrabble this afternoon and then 500 Rummy. Won both games so that makes up for losing badly last night at Cribbage.

Mother Nature is getting us ready for Thursday. Yesterday it was 70, today 80, tomorrow 90 and Thursday 103.

We could use rain.

Yuck Indy....it's bad enough when the temps hit that high here, but at least I don't have to deal with your humidity.

I am down to all the piddly stuff on my desk...ya know the kinds of things you just want to sweep into the closest drawer, be done and deal with it later things. Proud to say I have resisted that temptation. I have one very small container in my desk drawer that is for all this odd stuff...like an small xmas ornament, odd screws and whistle on a string. My pile for GW keeps growing and I am writing down everything before I put it in the pile.

Listening to some long lost tape that I made years ago. Compilation of many of my favorite songs. Haven't listened to it in years and am really enjoying it. Ordered an interesting push pin board to hold many of my favorite pictures. Can't wait for that to come. I have some loose things I want to hang and that will solve my problem. When I get all of this done, I'll have to post a picture. Too bad I didn't take a before so ya'll could really appreciate this project. Fair to say Sweetie is really impressed :D Working... Left to right, left to right, left....
