YEAH!! Congrat's LucyLee!!!!

I don't think I limited my internet time today but just became aware of the time I was online. It was a successful effort and I am finishing up the day feeling good about how I used my time.

I made a picnic lunch and took it with us today but ended up eating indoors. By the time lunch arrived, DH had spend several hours working in the heat (111 degrees) and I was more concerned about getting him cooled down than having a picnic. At the beginning of the high heat before the body adjust to the temperature, it is easy to overdo. I carried ice water wherever we go to ensure we stay hydrated because there is a BIG detox of the largest organ (skin) happening. :)

We spent some time at indoor swimming pool. We need to do this several more times and get LO to relax in the water. He had a life jacket on and still kept both of his hands in a firm grasp of me or my swimsuit.

Before we did MPB PM chores tonight we checked on DParents. DMom had a homemade chocolate pie fresh out of the oven (was still warm). OH MY! I know I might be a tiny bit biased, but i do believe DMom has to be the best pie maker in the WHOLE WORLD. Perfection!

Hi everyone. Spent some time reading posts.

Congratulations to Lucylee and dfamily on your new dgson. Babies are truly wonderful blessings! Your description of him brought to mind the first time I held each of my dsons -- such a happy moment! I'm happy for you all!

Oh yes, Cowinkie. Stay safe during the haboob. I've seen pictures of them in western US. And ds#3 sent us pictures of his experience with one in Iraq.

Wow Indiana... that's too hot. Hope it doesn't last long and you get some rain to cool it off.

Kathryn, sounds like you and dfam are having a wonderful time. We haven't played cribbage for a long time.

Sadie, sure hope your daunt heals quickly. Hope you can stay cool in your hot weather, too.

Harmony, your house always looks beautiful! Glad you didn't have any flooding, sorry about your dfriend's house.

MT, great finds in the gift shop. Glad you got your meds. Wanted to mention that last month dh was able to get the new generic for Plavix. Just wondered if your dh would be able to use the generic. The cost is way less than it would be. Your dd's garden sounds lovely.

WTG on weight loss Harriet!

Nancy, hope you get some nicer weather tomorrow.

Elizabeth, hope you generate some job interest with your resumes.

Well, this storm sure was a weird one. I think Harmony had more rain yesterday and today than we did. I went out to check our back yard today; it's drying out slowly. There is no standing water, but the ground is very mushy. Some small limbs blew out of our big oak tree and we had a small drippy leak in one of our windows at one of the screws in the frame. We'll have to reseal the window when all is dried out. Both ddils told me their yards flooded, but not in their houses. Most of the flooding in our county is near the coast or inter-coastal waterways. We're still under a flood warning, but the winds have died down. Apparently we could still have more rain. We took a ride through our neighborhood and didn't see any damage to houses. Apparently there was a couple of tornadoes near our area Sat. and Sun. during the worst time. Three of our area bridges were closed.

I'm watching the weather about the excessive heat across the country and the fires out west; thinking about a lot more people who will be affected by these conditions.

Talked to my dcousin and ds#3 today.

OKay, mmm chocolate pie sounds good! Hope LO feels more comfortable in the water the next time you go swimming.

((Lilac))!

Sunny, every time I see the weather I think of you, Harmony, your 2 sons and Dees dd. I hope all of you continue to avoid flooded houses. It is too bad that excess rain couldn't be sent west.

Thanks Lilac. This was the most rain we've had at one time in a long while. Our county had more than 12 inches, but central and north FL had 10 to 26 inches different places. At least it helps cut down the chance of wild fires we have in the summer.

(((Lilac))) Thinking of you, your dgranddaughters, your daunt, and all family...

Thank you all for so many good wishes and everything! It's been a fun day -- even though we missed out on our trip, LOL!!!
It was certainly worth it! Just watching ds with dgs was sooo sweet.
I've spent the night uploading pics to Walmart so I can take some actual photos to dmil tomorrow... and talking to dmom, dsisil, duncle, etc... on phone, so they can tell me how "adorable" and how "precious" he is. (I am already realizing that grandmas NEVER tire of hearing how wonderful their grandchildren are, right?)
We MAY drive over Thursday just for that one game and come back home that night. I think dh will feel better about not losing ALL these tickets if we see one game... and then we can have our real "vacation" later in the month. Ddil's parents will still be here Thursday, and that's the day they will come home from the hospital, so most likely they will be too tired for much company by that afternoon/night, anyway.

Heat index here next week may reach 118. I cannot believe it!!! But that's what the weatherman said in the 7-day forecast. Actual temp of 105.
Tomorrow is another day.
