(((Kathryn & Ken))) I am so sorry about your dnephew.

Dee -- at the rate I'm going right now, I think 5xthe 25th of December sounds perfectly reasonable.

I asked dh if I am ALWAYS this lazy and he said, "No. Summer is the time to be lazy. You need to catch up on your sleep. You look sooo much better now than you did when school was out."
:?: :?: :?:
When I pressed him on that last sentence, he said, "Yeah, you looked pretty rough by the time school was out."
Well, at least I know he is honest with me, right? * sigh *
Personally, I can't see the difference, but I guess I do need the rest -- maybe I'm not just falling into bad habits.

Big Milestone Tonight!
We just babysat for the first time!!! DS & ddil went to Wmart & local steakhouse for supper. We kept dgson for maybe a couple hours -- probably not that long.
Mostly we just watched him sleep, as usual.
At one point, I thought maybe I needed to change his diaper, but I decided not to. I got his little shorts off, and checked the diaper, and there was one VERY teeny-tiny spot on it -- and he was already putting up such a fuss that I thought, this is NOT worth the trouble... and there may be more to come. I couldn't even get his shorts back on, LOL. He is sooo tiny right now, you know... and I just didn't want to deal with it all. I just wrapped him up in his little blanket and he was happy as could be.

Hope we get good news from Indiana tomorrow.

Waving to ALL!
Tomorrow is another day.

Back from dinner out. I tried not to eat too much but still feel like I did. It was a pleasant evening together!

((Kathryn and Ken)) Sorry to hear the news about your dstep-nephew. How sad for his family.

Hoping Indiana gets better soon.

I think I'm going to bed now. Tomorrow will be a busy day. I have a LOT to do tomorrow to get ready to leave town Saturday a.m., plus I'll be driving the girls around.

Oh, so sorry for your extended family members, Kathryn. Glad you found a good place.

bittersweet, "Early to bed, then laze around in the morning." Isn't that how the quotation goes?

Safe travels to Sunny.

Safe travels to Elizabeth.

Happy birthing day, Dee.

Congratulations, Norma.

I exercised and re-watched part so I could learn it better.

I'm heading for bed to read for awhile. just wanted to stop by and say Nitters to ya'll.

Lucylee...Sweetie told me the same thing the other day about my looks. His words were just about the exact same as your DH. I think that is one of the reasons he is glad that I retired. He told me many times this year that he thought work at school was taking a toll on me. It wasn't the kids, mind you, just all the other stuff like principals, additional paper work and loosing my classroom. I will be traveling to my mom's at the end of the month and won't be home till Aug. 3. If I was returning to school this fall I wouldn't be able to do that. It makes me giddy just thinking about it. ;)

Kathryn, so sorry for sad news received tonight.

Congratulations for Norma on new baby soon to come.

helia, those are storm doors. We had them up north. They had glass panels our DDad changed for screens in the spring/summer. We don't have them down here. Mostly everyone here uses A/c and never opens windows or doors. We open our windows when it's cooler and use a window fan, but we are in the minority here.

Bay windows should all have nice overhangs over them to protect them from the weather. Here it is common to build a bump-out where 3 windows are put in, the side ones are angled out, and they're usually built out to the end of the roof line. DH doesn't like those because they have no protection from weather and you wouldn't believe how many builders build there"s out of wood and he replaces wood rot all the time on those. We build ours out of concrete block and stucco, and that's more expensive but lasts longer.

Been puttering around a lot today. House in good shape. Company coming in tomorrow eve. probably late for part of the weekend. I have a few things to get ready tomorrow and shopping / cooking to do.

Didn't tell you my excitement this morning. Watemelon exploded. It was left over from church get together and I didn't have room in the refrig. yet so it was on counter. I think it must have sat outside in the sun before Pastor bought it...it completely liquified inside and started to ooze and all the liquid came out...hence the big cleaning I did in the kitchen this morning. You wouldn't believe the smell. I couldn't seem to get it out, but finally did and I burned a vanilla candle quite a while in there too!

BWTG Lucylee for the babysitting! You will get more and more comfortable with DBaby, I'm sure.
