I'm so sorry you're feeling so under-the-weather, Kathryn. Maybe it really IS something in the weather. Hmmm...

I'm still pushing through... slowly...
First load of laundry ALMOST ready to tumble/hang to dry... second load waiting...
I've read the paper...
I'd really like a nap.

DS called & led me to believe they would go visit dgaunt later tonight, maybe after supper time @ the nursing home.
Also, when I dropped slight hint re: thank you notes, (that I would get addresses for the two gifts given to me this morning to deliver to them) he said, rather enthusiastically, "Okay, thanks!" Just as if he/they fully intend to actually write thank you notes sometime before dgs starts school...

Dmom has NOT called. She has still not given dh his birthday gift, feels bad about it, and left it at this: "Tell dh we are sooo sorry & the next time y'all are out this way or we are out that way, we will wish (dh) a happy birthday!"
Well... IF they went to church, they passed within a mile of my house this morning. * sigh *
I know if I mention it to dh, he's going to say (and somewhat justifiably) "If they want me to have a present, they can bring it to me. I don't want to go out there like I'm saying, 'give me my gift.'" * More sighs *

See what I mean about ATTITUDE being a hard discipline today???
Tomorrow is another day.

Your attitude is ALWAYS good, Indiana! :D I am striving to be more like you! I have not mentioned dparents to dh... (since relaying their message on Friday) and I am trying to just calmly ignore dh's complaints about ds/ddil.
Second load of laundry is washing... first load is drying.
Everything is in its place and * ta da * there are no dirty dishes in the sink!
I am going to take a nap. :P
Tomorrow is another day.

Sadie, I am so glad that you are safely home and had a wonderful trip. I too am anxious for part 2.

Kally, so nice to hear that you are enjoying a break from the heat. Yesterday our high was suppose to be 85 and it was never above 81. Today it is suppose to be a high of 91 and so far it is staying in the low 80's. I hope your dms health situation turns out well. She will be in my prayers.

Yesterday after walking and mowing, I was just wore out and felt puny. Feel better today.

Need to start some laundry while I am watching the race.

Has been a very lazy morning here. We watched Suits, one of our favorite shows. We recorded it on its regular night and discovered it had only recorded the first half.(?) Glad it was on this a.m. as it is a really good show.

Sadie, so glad you are back and had a good time. :D Motels can sure by iffy sometimes. Looking forward to Part Deux.

I am sure Cowinkie is home from the East Coast. Anxious to hear about her trip. We really wanted Sweetie to come see us, but with Willis and Sadie TWD, that would have been more than he wanted to deal with. (Putting them in a doggie motel.)

Our SF Giants are finally on a roll so must go watch them. :D

Norma, I was wondering if it was time for Cowinkie to be back. If you think so, then I'm sure it's almost time. Without recording these days, I would be sorely disappointed in tv watching.

Sadie, thank you so much for the travel news! I guess it would be quite a difference between the various places to stay along the way of a long trip, when you really had little way of knowing how far you'd go each day. Sounds like an adventure, anyway! So glad Tom left the light on for you once, sensible and safe. I'm interested to hear how your aunt enjoyed all her great nephews - probably proud. But most interesting to me is that your son determined to find his gaming buddy and meet. HRH and dd13 have a few gaming buddies on the one they play together who are somewhat important to them, too. Dd ends up being a favorite tag-along and HRH ends up giving sage old-timer advice ( on life and on blowing things up ) over the - whatever you call .... the "mic".... And now I learn it's "Voice Over Internet Protocol", HRH explains to me, VOIP. He also says to tell your son, "Gamers are usually pretty good guys."

Sorry, more to greet but lots going on in another part of the house... ppoof

I'd better hurry up and tell what I can before more interruption.

Church was very nice today - Good Samaritan. You can't go wrong with good material. Lots of enjoyable chats afterward - word has gotten around that our high school got the nat'l honor. Picked up Japanese food so that was a leisurely lunch-tray lunch here watching Andy Griffith. Milkshake for my ddad.

Kathryn, I certainly hope you feel better - didn't realize you had a fever. Dh isn't feeling any of it?

Glad Twins' Dad is a little better. Hope Mr. DeeClutter is, too.

Kally, I'm sorry you got troubling news about your mother's health. Nice to see you posting more often.

Harmony, how is the skin? both rash and sunburn?

Emptynester, I hope you haven't had any more frightening dog-sitting moments. How is the grandmother dog today?

Yes, y'all...I'm home...
Just catching up before I get caught by those computer gremlins. Got in late Friday night. Have already washed and put away clothes from the trip, changed the sheets on our bed, handled the mail, watched a bit of the Olympics and walked Willie boy.

Have a little jet lag and tried to rest a bit this morning, but I couldn't nap. Got up, doing a few more things around the house and the need to make a WM run. My poor cupboards are bare :D Had a great time while away....more later. Glad to be home :D

I'm back from a run to exchange printer bought last week, pick up more groceries (now that dd is home!) and p/u a script for myself.

Dh felt well enough to assemble the other two bar chairs and he's closer to human. Still taking mega pain pills but no longer moaning with the hot towel to his face!

I'm trying to figure out what to do next. I just realized that I forgot to get an onion and more cheese at the grocery - I'm making a squash casserole to go with chicken tonight. (Maybe I can talk dd into going back to grocery?)

-grocery run (or get dd to do)
-reboot laundry
-make the bed
-cut up squash for casserole
-work on clearing kitchen breakfast bar

Welcome home, Cowinkie and Sadie!

Edited to add that dd is asleep and dh says he isn't convinced he will be eating much tonight so the squash casserole will wait for another day. Will do the three above first...

Second load of laundry is tumbling/hanging to dry.

House looks okay.

My attitude is okay. It has been all day, really. It's just that I'm working under high pressure! I'm actually rather impressed with myself for not letting dh's irritation get to me. :P

Welcome home, Cowinkie!!!

Waving to Harriet, Lilac, and Norma!!!
Tomorrow is another day.
