Worth noting is that in the competition, gold medal winner Dong performed (including 5 twisting triple flips) to the music "Jump" by Van Halen, and the music the Olympic committee had chosen to end the moment for the podium recessional was "Jumpin' Jack Flash" by, yes, those guys.

I'm home too! Got back late yesterday - just checking in now. Doing a zillion loads of wash - we wore all the clothes we took because we were trying to stay warm! It was foggy and cold the whole week - no sun - it even rained a couple times. But enjoyed the break in routine and seeing good friends we only see once a year.
I'll share fun snippets later, the washer just beeped done, now dryer to unload.

I just skimmed PWYC, I'll get caught up later. Nice to see Sadie and Cowinkie home too.

My attitude has deteriorated. I'm really trying to get things cleaned up here a bit so cleaning lady can do her magic tomorrow, but dh and Macs are both needy. (It's storming, which accounts for Macs, at least. And I'm feeling deep disappointment because I needed dh to help me this weekend with some things (moving Goodwill stuff to my car, getting menorah collection high up over kitchen cabinets, and putting away some of his stuff in our closet.) And I can't get the printer going either.

Oh my... everyone is coming home... vacations are winding down... it must mean...
ooohhh... time for school to start back. * sigh *
Only 36 weeks... only 36 weeks...
EEEEKKK!!! Only 36 weeks!? Sometimes that thought just THRILLS me beyond belief. And sometimes it terrifies me.

Oh -- I got * sidetracked * -- imagine that!
Forgot to post progress:
* s/s all three baths
* laundry from dryer put away -- still need to do dh's laundry!
* watered plants and pulled away the dead leaves in the Chinese evergreen

I have discovered that we still can't watch specific bits from the Olympics (so this is true for the events as well as the opening ceremonies.) For instance, I decided I wanted to watch the trampoline men's gold performance. Nope, I can watch the qualifying round (Canada was still in that) but not the finals. And Canada won gold in the women's trampoline but we can't find that video on the only site we are allowed to watch. We can watch her receive her medal though. I'm still not sure why the bandwidth is being wasted to put up clips when the clips are so totally not related to what normal people might want to see.

Watched a movie this afternoon. Got two loads of laundry hung up in the basement. Heated the bedroom up (when I opened the room up, it was 25C inside, 24 outside and 23 on the main floor; the next time I checked it, it was 28C inside and out.) So that doesn't count as an accomplishment unless I want to take a sauna later. Another band of storms came through and doubled our rain for the day so we are closing in on an inch.

Ds called asking to come to supper tomorrow or Tuesday so I set up both nights. He is working a long string of overnights on weekends and daytime shifts during the week and I had said for him to call if there was anything I could do to help. He'd like a homecooked meal. I'll do ribs for tomorrow (easy.)

I'm not sure I'll eat supper. I had toast and honey for lunch and then a pita pizza. Now I'm feeling ill again. I wish I'd just be sick to my stomach and get this over with if that's the problem. Better to be sick and know I'll feel like dying for 24 hours and then will get stronger, than feel weak day in and day out but not have it turn into anything.

Bwha ha ha, Lucylee! I am genuinely sympathetic because I know he feels lousy, but the dog fussing about the weather, dh fussing about everything else in a mumble, and this dog-gone printer is just too much.

I had really hoped to have things cleaned up more this week and it's only gotten worse since dd got home; that shouldn't be a surprise, huh?

Lunch today must of looked like a perfect family meal from those surrounding us in the restaurant. Grandfather, Grandmother, Daughter/husband, 4 children and a girlfriend....all sitting around the table together. Everyone was pleasant. This was a HUGE step.....even if the smiles were faked by some. I'm thankful.

Feeling greatly relieved. Back-to-back-to-back activities are done. There isn't anything on the calendar until tomorrow evening. I can stand down and relax a little.

Hello from rainy FL. We've had a quiet, relaxing day here, no company today. We had a thunderstorm earlier this afternoon and it looks like we may get some more in a little while. Rain much needed; it's been almost a week since we had any. But due to all the rain this year, our yard is looking better than it has in a few years.

I enjoyed cuop today.....Welcome home from vacation Sadie, Cowinkie and Sherinjoy. I'm looking forward to hearing all about your travels.

((Hugs)) all around for Kathryn, Lucy's Dh, Twins' Mom's Dh, Kally's Dmom, OKay & dfamily and anyone else who could use some peace and comfort.

Friday evening ddil#1 had a home jewelry party. I'll take any chance to see our dgkids, so we went and had a good time. They had a busy day scheduled saturday so we went back up to see them for supper. We had a pancake breakfast with bacon, waffles; we brought a plate of sausage/cheese bisquits and apple pie for dessert.

Had a nice chuckle over Lucy's comment. I think my dh could use a thundershirt also! He never used to complain about anything --- could have a headache for three days and no one would know it. But recently he will "comment" on every little thing! He's not as stoic as he used to be.

Twins' Mom... I hope dd is feeling better about the new house. WTG for her healthy living this summer.

BookSaver.... sounds like a really good book sale you had. When we were in VA I went to their local library with ddil and dgkids while they exchanged their books for the summer reading program. They had two big racks of books free of charge to anyone who wanted them set up by the front door. I found some I would like, but chose only two. One had three stories of Nero Wolfe by Rex Stout and the other is a fiction about King Arthur's court. Haven't read them yet, though.

Saying hello to Indiana, Nancy, Harriet and Others I've missed.

We've watched some of the Olympics this week. There's three different channels to choose from, but haven't seen the trampoline competitions listed on any of them, so maybe we didn't get that either.

OKay... I'm glad this afternoon was a better meeting for you. Hopefully it will get easier as time goes on.

I think I'll finish up in the kitchen, then call it a night!

Hello to all. I've been at DD's house for the last 2 weeks only coming back to the MH to sleep - so therefore no computer except for my Kindle. I've been reading you - but not posting much as the little squares are too little for my big fingers.

Went over to DD's about noon and took a shower. Then watched the History Channel on how the states got their shapes. Really neat history of our country. Some of the reasons were geographic, or religious or political.

Helped DD feed the puppies their 2nd meal of ground up and souped up dog food. My little favorite, Annie, just put her head down and licked at that food until her little tummy pooched out. The she went over in the corner and went to sleep

Harriet: Grandmother dog is doing well today. DD says she has been having spells about once a week but they don't want to put here on meds as there are other side effects. The spells don't seem to slow her down and we played fetch about 3 hours later, after she had napped and it had cooled off.

Went out to dinner after DSIL came home from work. Then went to "The Parlor" for ice cream. Oh! my! I'm glad I don't live around here as it was the best ice cream.

Came back and watched the puppies play a bit and now home. DD and DSIL are going to weigh them as they are 3 weeks old now. Some should be up to 4 lbs. I'll be eager to see the results in the morning.
